I wanted to add some lighting to my living room that didn't take up floor space and wasn't just the "ceiling boob". This was the perfect addition to a corner of my living room.

Bought this and a grow light to do a winter set up in my garage for some potted plants that won't survive the winter. I have this plugged into a timer so the plants have a day/night without me having to do anything. Works great, nice and sleek. The hooks included are decent as well.

I needed this hanging light for a chandelier that had no lighting. It did a great job and I love it! The only thing I suggest is getting your own hook to hang it on because the one it comes with is kind of cheap. I got a pack of very sturdy hooks at Walmart for $2.

I live in a small beach cottage and needed a light above the kitchen sink but I didn't want to install one. I bought this to make my own light and used an upside down candle holder that I like to cover the light bulb. It looks great and works for the purpose I needed it for. The cord is long enough that I was able to hang the light at the exact height I needed. I am happy with this product.

Didn't know they still made these... absolutely exactly what I needed. Great price and great quality. Recommend highly.

I needed to re-wire an occasional lamp. Rather than piecing together a separate cord and plug and toggle switch I cut the socket off of this well made assembly and then used the remainder to re-wire the lamp. Worked great and looks like a "factory" cord would.

It is a corded light socket with an on/off switch. Nothing about it feels cheap. The switch is in a good place on the cord and makes a nice click when pressed on or off. The socket is well-made. The cord appears to be made of a thicker gauge of wire than most lamp cords, but that could just be an extra thick coating of insulation. Either way, I've not had any problems with it.

This is a simple, basic way to get light where you need it. We rent so we can't modify things too much. Our laundry room just has a small fluorescent strip above the machines. That strip doesn't light up the deep shelves on the far wall, so it was hard to tell what was on the shelves. We hung this from a couple of cup hooks (using the provided strips), screwed in an LED bulb, and plugged it in. Now the whole room is well lighted and it was not too expensive. We like that the light is very versatile, it can easily be hung wherever it is needed and the switch makes it easy to use even when the outlet and/or bulb is hard to reach. It has a clean, simple aesthetic that could go well nearly anywhere.

perfect. exactly as described. The on/off switch is in a nice spot (no bending down to turn it on and off) I installed this on the closet ceiling with the hardware provided and hung the light with the s-rings (also provided) I've bought a several types of those stick-on closet lights and they still can't diffuse light as nicely as an overhead light. Highly recommend.

Years ago I carried a home-made version of this with a small light bulb in my toolbox to quickly test outlets to see if the breaker was on or off. I had several versions; it was a handy tool. When I needed something similar I found this gem on Amazon with a long cord and a good price. I love it and have several uses for which I will buy more of them.
