A Nice Design, Right Price
Old School big knife melon slicer that I am I bought and used this tool after examining 4 similar. I watched the YouTube demo then cut up two large watermelon this week. What works best for me is to put melons in the kitchen sink so it can be braced better than on the countertop. I have a more efficient and forceful stroke with the melon at a lower height, less scrap pieces to spoon out as well. I don't miss all the wet slice and dice either so the Old School technique is now the province of cantaloupe and honeydew only. Nice tool with one caveat: one needs a strong grip and determined attitude to use well. Those with lesser physical attributes may prefer to remain with the knife.

a good purchase
although i have yet to use my watermelon slicer, i am glad i have one so that the next time i purchase a watermelon, i will be able to easily slice it. My husband is not one for melon still on the rind, so this is just what i need. It appears to be quite sturdy and well-made, so i think we will enjoy it for a long time.

Product Exceeded My Expectations!!
In all honesty, even with many rave reviews on this slicer, I expected a 'wimpy little girl toy' that that would fall apart after a few uses. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!! The thick rubberized handle on this jewel tool fits my large 'man hand' comfortably and even with NO SHARP EDGES with the polished stainless steel blades it cleaned all the yummy right down to, but NOT INTO the rind. No going back to the old hack-a-finger days for this watermelon lover!!

The best iteration of a watermelon slicer to date. Do not be fooled by inferior imitations.
I previously had a first generation version of this manufactured in Europe, as well as a Chinese knock-off the European model. Both worked but quickly failed because of design flaws in the metal rod at the tip of the slicer. This model, sold by Linden family under the name Sleeke Multi-Use Slicer and Tong is a VAST IMPROVEMENT in two ways as to the metal rod. First, it is attached on one side only allowing the other side to slide freely on the rod, and second the rod itself is much sturdier both in diameter and attachment. No cheap weld here! The tongs are much more comfortable too and afford leverage that the other versions didn't have. Finally, a tip. Having used similar devices, by far and way the easiest way to remove the slices from the halved-watermelon is to make ALL the slices on the half of the watermelon before attempting to remove any of them! Once all the cuts have been made, simply turn the watermelon over onto a platter or cutting board, and VOILA, all the slices will come out by gravity without any need to tug at them. Watch out for watermelon juice when you do this, and be prepared with strategic placement of paper towels, etc., or even do it in a sink if yours is large enough.

Great for parties and when the family comes over
I am glad I bought this tool for the house. It comes in handy a lot, especially when the warmer seasons roll around. We love having people over for birthdays and BBQs and watermelon is always on the table. To feed 20-30 people watermelon you need to cut up a whole lot of it. It really is a pain. My friend recently bought this exact slicer from Sleeke and she loves it so much. I had to admit it looked so interesting when she was using it too. It’s a great little invention. I was so used to cutting watermelon with a knife. I secretly always hated doing it and would always try to get my husband to do it. And now it’s no problem. I can cut up 2-3 watermelon in just a few minutes. This tool makes sense. I don’t have to clean up any mess and it makes great even slices. It’s great even if you’re trying to just cut a few slices for yourself. Just all around easier. Highly recommend it!

This is the one to get!!
Great quality!! I bought a cheap one in the store before and it broke on the 2nd try. I researched for a better one and this one came up. It is really high quality at an awesome price! It is very sturdy with a great, thick and comfortable handle. This feels like it will not only cut watermelon and cantaloupe but that it can cut a tree!

Time saver and conversation starter!
I'm a big fan of various kitchen gadgets and this has got to be one of my favorites. We love watermelon in the summertime but the cutting and cleaning afterward is such a hassle. This slicer has made it so much easier. The handle is really comfortable to hold and I can chop up my watermelon in way fewer strokes than with a typical knife. Also love that all of the juices stay in the rind bowl left over so clean up is a breeze. I would recommend watching the short youtube instructional video before using, but once you get it, the slicer just glides on its own and does the job for you!

Better than the other slicers that are out there. Great quality, nice soft handle, easy to slice.
Let me say that I am not usually one to leave reviews unless I am extremely happy or totally frustrated with a product. With the Sleeke slicer I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by how they were able to improve over the other slicers out there. Last month I was gifted a generic watermelon slicer (all steel), only to struggle and eventually end up cutting myself in the process and breaking the wire! I was frustrated because I love watermelon and so do my kids however cutting it with a knife always ended with a mess in the kitchen. After purchasing this beautifully designed product, I was thrilled to open the box to find a lovely insert that detailed the process along with my bright coral slicer. The handle on this new watermelon slicer is by far the most comfortable one I have used, it is very well made and allowed me to slice watermelons with ease. I think the word is ergonomic...basically it fit perfectly in my hand with just the right curvature and soft feel. Not going to lie I tried to use it on cake :) and it worked! Tell me I am corny but the message on the inside of the packaging was super cute too :) Like I said I usually don't leave reviews, I have to say it’s a great addition to the kitchen and an easy solution for any mother who wants to provide a nutritious snack for the family without the headache of cleaning and using a knife.

In the summertime, when the weather is hot...
This is a slick little gizmo that works just as it says. It makes perfect slices of watermelon in no time at all. I was looking at other slicers but most of them had questionable reviews so I went with this one. It just takes a few minutes to completely empty out a watermelon into a couple large Tupperware containers, stick them in the fridge and have an ice cold watermelon slice anytime you want it. Great little product.

Great slicer from Sleeke, I love it when cool new products come out for the kitchen
Really cool new product. Sure I can use a knife, but what’s the point. Someone created a way to make slicing watermelon easier and faster. A lot faster. I can slice up a watermelon in under 2 minutes. It leaves a tiny bit of watermelon juice on the bottom, but that’s fine. I prefer that than it being all over the table. Really comfortable handle. The silicone handle is definitely a good touch. Had no problems getting it right from the first try. Very nice packaging and instructions are included clearly explaining how to use this thing. I see this slicer being really handy when I invite the family over or have a larger party. I’d say that I would need to serve at least a watermelon and a half. The kids always get served slices without the rind so this takes care of that right away. Less mess to deal with. I just carve out the slices and throw the whole rind out. Maybe i’ll try one of those sangria bowls using it. That could be fun. All in all its a great little tool. We always eat watermelon so it made sense to get one. Going to recommend this one to my sister!
