Great boots for training and road marches
I love them. They feel broken in out of the box. I did a quick 5-mile road march to test them out. No hot spots or blisters. They're also incredibly light. My only complaint is that the color is slightly more brown than other coyote colored boots. I have not had them long enough to test their durability.

Danner living up to my expectations.
The Danner Tachyon's are by far some of the most comfortable boots that I have owned. Coming from the Marine Corps the version Danner had for the USMC was always heavy but I found that these still had the rugged feel and comfortable fit at a huge reduction in weight. I currently use the Tanicus as daily wear as well as the newer Oakleys. All three boots serve their purpose and are extremely comfortable. The great thing about Danner is that their extra wide boots actually fit my feet without the need to go up a size or two. I fully expect to get a good 2-3 years, or more, out of these boots.

Comfortable, light, good looking with OCPs
Recommendation Up Front: I recommend these boots for anyone who works in garrison/office who takes occasional treks off road – These boots pair very well with the OCP uniform. Overall: These boots arrive and feel broken in right out of the box. They fit as sized for me and are a nice coyote tan color. I wear them with the OCP uniform in Afghanistan. The dirt and sand here fades the color nicely and they take on an even more attractive appearance. I have replaced the laces once with tan parachute cord. Pros: Light weight, comfortable, breathable I have worn these boots daily for the past 4 months. I feel they are worth the price and with how comfortable they are, they have paid for themselves. I work an office job but I am on my feet a lot doing all sorts of tasks and they perform very well. The boots breathe well and also keep very cool thanks to the lightweight material. They have exceeded my expectations. Cons: Durability – These boots have been durable for my use so far, but I have been respectful of their limitations. The material is very light and thus thin in places, so I would be very cautious purchasing these boots with intent to use them strenuously . An occasional hike is not out of the question.

Boots are hard to buy
I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews about products in the past. These boots are definitely something that I took a chance on. I’m glad I took that chance. First let me say: Everyone’s feet are different. I have had footwear recommended to me that killed my feet. My example is the Salomon XA mid forces gtx. People swear by Salomon but they hurt my feet. That doesn’t mean that Salomon is a bad boot, just not a good boot for me. Everyone needs to understand this concept regarding clothing and footwear. These boots, in my opinion are light and comfortable. They feel amazing to my feet. Plain and simple. Durability? Only time will tell. Honestly some people are rough on footwear, some aren’t. So keep that in mind.

Lightweight and sturdy. My favorite boots!
By far my favorite pair of non-steel toed boots. Lightweight, cool, and sturdy. Required no break-in time. I originally purchased them for a ruck march and I needed a size up; the second our arrived a day too late. I thought to myself, “well, I wouldn’t have been able to wear them anyway.” Having work them for a few months now, I think they would’ve been fine. I walk several miles a day wearing heavy gear and haven’t had one blister or even a hit spot. Also, the laces are good-quality. I usually replace the provided laces with 550 cord but didn’t need to do that this time. Great boot. I’ll never buy another type for everyday wear.

Great boots.
This is my 7th Danner product. They are pricey but they are worth the money, I have these in black and coyote, also the Rivot in black and tan, the Acadias and some hiking danner boots that I do not recall the name. They are all great quality products. This one in particular is great to be as light as it is. The bottom vents allow your feet to get some air and breath. During summer months they are great and do not overheat your feet. They are comfortable and I compare it to wearing tennis shoes. The leather is easy to dust off and keep clean. I have not submerged them in water so I do not know how waterproof they are. The black ones I have were submerged in water often, they offered great waterproofing and kept my feet dry. I wore the sole down to almost flat, I was wearing them 12 hours a day 5 days a week and I walked many may miles a day. It took over 2 years for them to be worn down to that level. Very durable, totally worth it. The fit is true to your foot. Whatever size you regularly wear, that's the size you have to order. Break in period is very short. I do have to buy insoles with both pairs but that is my personal issue as I have weird arches.

23 year Police Special Operations Teams
I have owned nothing but Danner boots my entire career as a law-enforcement officer. I worked many special operation functions including gangs, Narcotics intervention, SWAT special services & Hostas Negotiation. There were a few times I purchased an inexpensive boot and I paid for it dearly. If you want to boot that fits correctly the first time you put it on until the day it’s taken it’s last recital Then purchase Danner. The Tachyon is the best value boot on the market today. Your feet are the most important tool you have as a cop if they fail you then you may as well be behind a desk. In my opinion this is the lightest and most well-made boot in its class whether in black or coyote. It is not the most expensive pair Danner makes however for $100 you can purchase three pair and still be way ahead of the game. I have never had problems with stitching or the rubber soles pulling away from the main boot area. The only drawback on this model is that it does not provide as impact protection as the Dannie Arcadia. The Arcadia is a much heavier boot & being a full leather boot it is much hotter so there is a trade-off. No matter which Danner model you purchased it is the best in its class for the function it provides. Don’t be a poser buy what real cops buy. Jeff Corbin police detective/SWAT (Ret.) Amazing boots
I have very bad feet after wearing military boots for so many years. After one of my troops bought a pair and highly recommended them, I decided I would purchase a pair. I'm so glad I did. These Danner Men's Tachyon 8 Inch Coyote Military and Tactical Boot are absolutely amazing and just what I needed. They are lightweight, and very comfortable. I usually wear a men's 5.5 wide, but decided to go up a half size after having surgery on my foot so I would have plenty of room. These boots fit exactly as I had expected. The extra half size gave my foot plenty of room to accommodate the slight swelling I still have and yet not be so large that they won't fit well after my foot finally heals. I would definitely recommend these to anyone considering purchasing them!

Great boot
This is the third pair of Danner Tachyons I have bought. These boots are light, comparable to wearing a running shoe. I consider these an office boot and prefer to wear a heavier boot with more support when rucking or out in the field. In my experience, wearing these boots in the field will destroy them in a few months. In the office, these bad boys seem to last forever!

LOVE
LOVE these boots. I am a female with wide feet. Even those these are men's sizing, which usually means they're wide, the regular width is too narrow for me. Luckily, they come in wide (EE) which was perfect!
