This is a great set especially for the price. ONE THING TO REMEMBER, ------OPEN it with the latches DOWN. Put a piece of painters tape on the side that needs to be in the UP position with UP written on it. Don't worry, if you open it WRONG it will teach you not to do it again because most of the tools will be dumped all over the place and will take you a long time to clean up the mess. I learned the hard way. Just letting you know.

I love reading the reviews about this socket set that criticise it for not being a top-of-the-line set (i.e., critiquing the number of teeth in the ratchet gears). My simple thought is this: If you want Craftsman quality, buy Craftsman. Don't buy a Chevy and then complain that it's not a Rolls Royce. You get what you pay for. For someone that doesn't repair cars for a living, I wasn't looking for anything fancy or expensive. The number of times a year I need a socket set can probably be counted on one hand, but boy when you NEED a socket and ratchet and don't HAVE one - let me tell you, the irritation factor is about 100. I have loaned out so many sets of tools over the years that I never got back that I made the decision to stop spending big money for other peoples' collections. (I'm too nice a guy to simply stop loaning my tools out to people, so this was the only option left that made sense.) So when the time came recently that I was needing sockets more and more frequently, and the fellow I loaned my other set out to was "unavailable" for me to get them back, off to Amazon I went for yet another replacement. I came across these, saw the price, saw the number of sockets and ratchets you get with it, and I thought, "Eh, why not? If I don't get these back after loaning them out, I'm not out much." When they arrived the next day (I'm a Prime person) and I set them to task, they didn't come close to disappointing me. The fact that the ratchets don't click 3,000 times per complete revolution didn't phase me a bit. The sockets I used didn't slip, they didn't come off the ratchet, this set had the ones I needed (and one of them was a 15mm, which doesn't come standard in all sets) - they just worked like they're supposed to. Will I be taking these out and driving over them with an 18-wheeler to see if they hold up to severe abuse? Nah. Will I leave them out in the pouring rain for a week to see if they rust and corrode? Nope. I don't see myself working on anything in the pouring rain or underwater any time soon, so I don't care about that. Am I mad they don't have a fancy name stamped into each piece of the set? Nope. (And I'm a BMW 750Li driver, so yeah - I'll spend some mad money on some things, but on the things that it doesn't really matter? Pass.) If you're an occasional DIYer and just need a set of sockets to get the job done, these'll do ya just fine, and you won't have buyer's remorse if you don't use them more than a handful of times a year (or you loan them out and don't get them back...again). I won't hesitate to buy these again when the time comes, and I will certainly buy other tool sets from this manufacturer without giving it a second thought.

Very nice and well organized socket set. I maintain a reasonably complete set of tools on my truck for emergency use and this set of sockets complete with the compact but durable case they came in fit nicely in the tool tray I have in my truck box. I used the set for the first time yesterday and found both the sockets and the ratchets to be of good quality. The only drawback I noticed was that the deep-well socket I was using was not cut to "Nut-size" all the way to the base of the socket. The socket is hollow all the way to the base allowing a bolt to enter the full socket length, but the nut to be worked on will only travel about a third of the way into the socket. This is not normally a problem, but I have had rare occasions where this issue would have been inconvenient. Having said that, FOR THE MONEY THIS IS A REALLY NICE AND COMPLETE SET OF SOCKETS WELL ORGANIZED IN A CONVENIENTLY COMPACT AND DURABLE CASE!

Update - giving it 5 stars. Manufacturer has been awesome about any Nessesary replacement sockets. Update - Manufacturer sent me replacement sockets for the ones that didn't work. all is well now. There are several sockets that are not manufactured properly, so they can't even fit on the socket wrench. One had a piece of metal sticking out in the square where the wrench goes in, and I had to drill it out to remove it so that it could go all the way on the wrench. another one has a square that is not milled out all the way, so its too small to go on the wrench! so far, I'm a bit disappointed. waiting for seller/manufacturer to respond about replacement sockets.

I am master tech.I've been using a week on my impacts abusing the sockets and have not shattered one yet I'm very pleased.

For the price, this a great set to own. Bought this set to work on my Jeep and I am so glad that I did. Everything about this set says quality. Sockets fit nice and snug and the ratchets have no problem tightening or loosening nuts. The hard case and fasteners are not flimsy but robust. Great socket and driver set.

Cheap deep sockets with a very well made case and they stay in their designated place. Sockets quality are excellent and shiny. Tools withstood oil spills, drops, gas spillage and it's still holding strong. Would highly recommend to anyone who need deep sockets set.

Not only for the value for such an large set , i am very surprised by the workmanship and durabilty this set. Def. sets a bar in the low value group . Needed such a set like this for my vehicles as all my well knownnname brand tools stay in my shop toolbox , and this worked perfectly no flaws . Has been durable even hand cranking 3/4 socket wrench just for testing at 125 foot lbs and testing range with my torque wrench to see what i hit and it handeled it with ease and did not break/bow the wrench like i have had happen with other low end sets. No miss manufactured teeth within socket teeth so they grip and fit correctly and did not shatter on such a high hand torque . Very pleased with this set and the craftmanship for sure.

This is a very comprehensive socket set that has everything you would need in the 1/4 and 3/8 drive category. The wrenches are very smooth and the sockets are well machined. Upon receiving my set, there were a couple sockets that didn't lock onto the wrench properly, so I contacted EPAuto and they immediately sent replacements for the problematic sockets. Not only do you get a good product for a low price, but some of the best customer service on Amazon.

The Amazon Basics socket set was out of stock so I went with this one and after using it for a couple of weeks of daily use I must say I am impressed. It is one of the best sets for the DIY'er on a budget. A lot of people complain about how the tools don't snap into their locations in the case so if you open it upside-down they fall out everywhere but in my opinion it's much better this way as the tools are so much easier to remove and replace and you don't have to worry about yanking the whole case off the shelf trying to remove a socket like other cases. If you use some common sense and be mindful of the ARROWS ON THE CLIPS THAT POINT RIGHT-SIDE UP, then you won't have to worry about opening upside-down. The quality of the set is on par with some of the entry level tool brands such as Stanley and Craftsman but for much less. No chipping or flaking despite having exposed them to brake fluid and forgetting to clean them as well as dropping them. Suspiciously high quality for the money. Only the test of time will reveal their true quality but even if I only get a couple of years out of these tools, they will be in my opinion money well-spent. My only complaint is the lack of a 18 mm 3/8" drive deep-well. The set could also use a 3/8" universal adapter and I'm sure there's room for it in that case but other than that this is one of the best, if not the best socket set for the money. If they had a larger, more complete 3/8"/1/4" socket set I would have bought that!
