My little guy is really into building things and taking things apart, this was a huge hit and still has been a week later. He takes it apart and then puts it back together continuously, he already destroyed the lights though. The wiring is out in the open so he pulled it apart pretty quick, I kinda wish that wasn’t out in the open where they could get to it.

This is such a great product. My 4 year old received it as a gift and it didn’t take him long at all to work the drill and take apart/ put together the car by himself. He loves being able to change it from the convertible to the race car. Even his 2 year old and 6 year old brothers enjoy it. When I looked at reviews a main complaint was that it was not easy access to turn the lights and sound on and off... well, they fixed this so it is easy to turn them on and off just from the bottom of the car. Great fun, as well as good for fine motor skills and making them feel really great after putting their own car together.

Bought for my almost 4 year old for christmas. He is always stealing my tools to "fix" things. As a quintessential little boy he loves cars and motorcycles. He LOVES this and it's one of the presents that a few weeks later he still enjoys taking apart and putting back together. One annoying thing (hopefully someone from the manufacturer actually reads reviews... The sound function has an on/off switch but the way they located it is under the hood with no access unless you take the toy apart. It will sit there with the engine revving over an over forever unless you take the whole front end apart and switch it off.It would be really nice if there was a way to access it without dismantling.

This is a great toy. Our grandson, just a few months shy of being 4, played with it endlessly when we gave it to him. It didn't take him long to master the forward and reverse on the drill, and he enjoyed replacing the wheels while racing it. It is quite substantial and, blessedly, requires adult help in turning the sounds on and off! We had no referrals when purchasing it--my wife just thought it looked like something he would enjoy. It surpassed our expectations, and we would recommend it highly.

Gave this to my nearly 4-yr. old grandson for Christmas. He loves tools so I knew he would like this. And he does! Loves to take it apart, put it together, and play with it, using good imagination. From my standpoint, I appreciated that everything was included in the box - including the batteries which was a real perk. I mean, most every toy makes you supply the batteries and in the hectic holiday season, it's easy to forget and heaven help you if you don't have the right size on Christmas morning! The car is well-made and the drill to put it all together has held up well (I'm writing this review more than 4 months after Christmas). I recommend this toy car kit without reservation!

This was a gift for a boy's fifth birthday. It comes unassembled and that immediately intrigued him. Some pieces pop on and others are screwed on with a toy drill (very safe) that reverses to unscrew. You can assemble a basic car or a fancy, colorful race car. After needing some help with the initial assembly, the boy could take it apart and build it again, and has been doing so repeatedly for over a week now. He's tickled with the bright colors and flashing headlights. It comes with batteries installed, and young children cannot easily get at them. It's rated for 3- to 8-year-olds, but may be frustrating for the youngest..

Brought this to cousins son in England. Child is 3 years old and could do this once he was shown how 1 time! He and his dad sat down and built it and the boy instantly took over and played. He didn’t put it down for days! He put the car together and took it apart dozens of times each day I was visiting. The drill worked well and he used it for many hours over the 3 days I was there and the batteries held up fine. Instant and on going play value. Highly recommend this great toy!

I agree it's annoying you have to take the car apart to turn off the engine noises but that small annoyance is outweighed by seeing your little one put this thing together over and over and over with such an intense expression like they are seriously working on a real car! The little screwdriver really works (no issues with reverse), perfect for little hands and I don't think they can do any real damage to other stuff with it. I loved this, my kid loves it. Great idea.

My four year old son adores this toy. He spends so much time taking it apart and putting it back together in different ways, and he only rarely needs my help with anything. I will say that the engine piece which randomly starts making car sounds and lighting up is super annoying, but we put a piece of tape over the speaker part to make it less deafening and usually just keep that part turned off anyway. Too bad you can't turn on just the lights; they look nice and my son enjoys them, but they come with the loud annoying sounds and turn off and on pretty unpredictably. It doesn't really seem to matter though since he still plays with it all the time. Oh, and there are a couple of extra screws and a full set of extra tires, so if a piece gets lost, it doesn't have to be the end of the toy! I really appreciated that. This toy is overall great and made a wonderful gift for our son; I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with a child in their life who likes cars or putting things together/taking things apart. It's endlessly fun.

I bought this car for my son's third birthday. He is very tactile and enjoys figuring out how things work, so I loved the idea of giving him something that he enjoys (cars), along with the opportunity to strip it down and put it together piece by piece. He forgot all about his other birthday gifts and played with this very intently for the first two and a half hours out of the box. It was easy for him to pick up on which button tightens and which one loosens, and I appreciate that all of the pieces have a resting point so he doesn't have to hold them in place while he's assembling. We've had the toy for about a week now and he runs in when he gets home each day and grabs it to take it apart and put it back together, again and again. I also appreciate four extra tires and screws being included in the box. We're pretty good at keeping toy components together, but with these being small, I'm sure we'll need at least a couple of those extras at some point. The only downside is that the car lights and sounds can only be turned off by taking the car apart and flipping a switch. Otherwise, they seem to run incessantly. Thankfully, my son doesn't mind just keeping them off.
