"LIGHT WEIGHT AND MADE IN ITALY"
I always wanted a non-stick pan, and read many reviews on the different pans. What impressed me with this pan, was the manufacturer reads the reviews!!!! I am not sure, but I think they comment on almost every review, or for sure the ones with one star. So, I received my 11" Vesuvio pan with top today, and read the book a couple of times to make sure I did everything right so I would be making a fair review. I went to the DaTerra Cucina website and looked at the 4 videos a few times. I then followed the instructions on conditioning the pan: wash with non-scratch sponge, used a teaspoon of olive oil rubbed it in, then heated pan on low heat four minutes, then washed it again. I then wanted to try the "egg" test. Heated the pan to medium heat, dropped in the egg, ta dah, slipped around the pan like corn meal on a dance floor. (oops tells how old I am-79) Now I am excited to try chicken or pork for the real test. Since Amazon lets you update your reviews, I will send some pictures to go along with the actual cooked meal. Best pan I ever owned, light weight and made in Italy, not China! Buy one you won't be disappointed. Need help? The manufacturer, but an email away! To protect my investment I purchased this silicon set of utensils. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JSQEY9E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Lucky Day
Best Skillet I've Owned
My last non-stick skillet lasted nearly 10 years. Unfortunately, it just wasn't as non-stick as it once was, and was taking too much elbow grease to keep clean. My wife and I are on a special diet and literally cook from home every single day. I did a LOT of research before settling on this 11-inch skillet. I'm so glad I did! This pan is extremely non-stick, without having to resort to Teflon or other nasty chemicals. We use this pan so much it has a permanent place on the stove. I know most non-stick pans tend to perform amazingly right out of the box, so I plan on updating this review in a few months. Favorite features: -VERY non-stick (instructions suggest using a drop or two of oil after washing, which is a small price to pay for the performance) -Use directly in the oven up to 450 degrees! -The outside is just as non-stick and cleans just as easily as the inside. -Sloped sides are perfect for tossing or sauteing. -Vented lid works extremely well. Latex rim makes it safe to place hot lid on counter or glass range without risk of damage. Room for improvement: -Bare rivets inside the pan are more difficult to clean than the non-stick surface. -Make a larger pan with a matching lid! 11-inches is great, but would love a 13- or 14-inch model. -Add a steel plate internally so it can be used with magnetic induction ranges.

I am very much in love with this pan already
I received this piece December 30, and have already used it several times over the weekend. I am very much in love with this pan already! First, the pan is beautiful and the lid has a very contemporary look. Second, the pan is light weight, but seems to be very sturdy and appears to be well constructed. Most importantly, the food comes out of the pan so easy! Just in the last 3 days I have cooked sausage patties, fried eggs, seared meat, and sauteed veggies. The pan is light enough to comfortably flip food, and the non stick allowed the eggs to glide right out of the pan with out the use of oils. The pan heats up quick and cooks evenly. When I seared the meat, I noticed I was getting the crust on the meat and the brown bits in the pan. If I were to have deglazed, the good stuff would have been there (unlike a teflon). In this case it wiped out like a dream!! The lid that comes with the pan is also a nice part of this pan. The lip seats well and can also be used in the oven. Clean up was a breeze! I wiped out the pan and it is ready to go again! This was like my well seasoned cast iron pans, but so much more light weight! I am pretty sure I am going to love this pan!

The best pan!
I bought this as a christmas present to myself, thinking it was probably too expensive, but I'm worth it. It is now April, and I have used it every day since then. Four months later there is not one scratch or sign of wear. I do take good care of it, though. I dont use any metal utensils in it. I don't even break eggs on the edge. It looks great. The lid fits well. I like everything about it. Highly Recommended. PS I'm a chef.

Top-notch Fry Pan
This is a perfect all-around fry pan. The features I love: non-stick/easy to clean; versatile size with deep, gently-sloped sides; contains no PTFE, lead or cadmium (better health-wise); oven-safe; silicone grips that make it nice to grasp; awesome lid --see-through glass with a silicone rim that fits snugly and quietly and has a little steam vent. Very happy!

Perfect Skillet
I have own and operated a Bed & Breakfast for 17 years. Lots of skillets have gone through my kitchen. I am in love with my new skillet! We're buying 2 more. Nothing ever sticks. Infact the omelets slide out so fast I have to careful. The oven safe lid is a plus. Honestly the best skillet ever!

Great non-stick pan with heavy usage
I probably use this product differently than most people. About 4-5 times a weeks since I got the pan I put some olive oil in the bottom of the pan and bake chicken breasts, pork, and chicken thighs in the oven at 430 degrees for 25-30 minutes (with the lid on it). I wanted a good non-stick surface to bake with that wasn't aluminum foil. So far the pan has worked great with no sticking and very easy cleanup afterwards. My girlfriend also uses it on top of the stove to fry things and has been happy with it, but she doesn't use it as much as I do.

Fabulous Nonstick Pan that Doesn't Make Your Food Taste Weird
Update 11/19/2017: Okay, it finally happened. The hubs used a sharp-edged metal spatula in it the other day while making pancakes and gouged the coating. I'm definitely buying another one when they're available again...oh, and i got an OXO silicone spatula for future pancake flipping! Please get more of your 11" pans in stock....love it! Original Review: I've been using this pan for about 2 months now. Since I'm being more careful about how much fat I cook with, this pan has been a lifesaver. I tried a traditional Teflon pan, and it made my eggs taste funny. I want to give up fat, not flavor, so I returned that pan and used a cast iron pan for a couple years. Finally I decided it was waaaay too heavy for everyday use, and my husband kept burning the "seasoning" off the pan by not using any oil when cooking things on high heat. It was a constant battle to try and keep that thing seasoned and somewhat nonstick. Then I found this pan on Amazon and read the reviews. It was a little more than I wanted to spend to try it out, but I can now say I definitely do not regret it. I can cook with a little bit of oil or none at all. If you cannot tell, I'm a bit of a foodie. So I like to cook, and I want my cooking to be irresistible. I've finally found a pan that helps get me there! The only thing I would change about this pan is the handle. I have another hollow handled pan that is completely sealed to not let water (and other stuff) inside it. I'll include a photo of it in case the seller would be interested in making this modification in the future. Don't change the black grippy part though - that is awesome!

definitely a winner
I had one of those non-stick "green pans" from Walmart. What a piece of junk. This one is pricey but it's rare to find a kitchen tool you look for ways to use. What a pleasure. For years I whined about my inability to cook sunny-side-up eggd without busting everything up trying to get them out of the pan and I now have a pan where everything truly slides right out without use of any tool at all. It also heats much faster on my flat glass-top stove and the lid is first class. Very nice. I hope I can repeat all I've said here years from because it looks like it will be with me a long, long time.

My new workhorse in the kitchen!
I fell in love with this pan as soon as I pulled it out of the box. It's sleek, stylish and modern design were an instant hit. I love how the lid has a silicone rim that keeps it from slipping or wobbling when your cooking at higher temperatures with steam build-up. I'll admit, I was quite surprised at how light the pan was. I grew up with a cast-iron skillet and my beliefs were that in order for good heat distribution, you need weight. Boy was I wrong. This pan is a wrist-saver. I can easily flip whatever I'm sauteing and my preconcieved notions regarding heat distrubution has been proven wrong. I think the most impressive thing about this pan is that I can fry a sunny-side up egg without oil and it'll cook to perfection without browning the edges and then slide perfectly onto the plate without any coaxing. I am in love and have yet to put the pan into the cupboard. It's been sitting beautifully on my stove. She's my new workhorse in the kitchen ;-)
