Digital Caliper 6 Inch MM/Inches/Fractions

This is a decent Caliper. Easier to read than a non-digital one. It's good not having to figure out where the lines on the Vernier scale meets up along the Main scale and then doing the math. Matches up to my old Manual Caliper. It comes in in own case with padded cutout foam to conform with the product so it is well protected and the item will not jostle around, even if you shake the case. What is included Digital Caliper 6 inch, IP54 Rated Phillips Screwdriver (used to open the battery cover) Instruction Booklet Cleaning Cloth Extra Battery (CR2032 3V Lithium Button Battery) This will measure in MM, Inches and Fractions. MM - given up to 2 precision Inches - given up to 3 precision, eg. 2.154 Fractions - given as 16th, 32nd, 64th or 128th depending on where the measurement is. There are 3 buttons around the display. Top Button changes the measurement, mm/in/F Lower Left Button turns the display On/Off Lower Right Button is the Zero button and operates like a TARE button on a scale. Here, you would simply zero the scale out when the jaws are closed. The thumb roller is used to gradually move the scale to the object you are measuring. The slider clamp screw lets you lock down the scale if you want to refer back to the reading later on or if it will be stored in place where they may be frequent movement, such as a car because when the jaws move, the display automatically turns on. No worries, the display will auto shutoff after 5 minutes if no operation is detected. If there is one thing more manufacturers should do is to have back lit displays or have the numbers light up. Sacrificing battery life for an easy to read display in low light conditions is worth it.

I was really surprised once I received the product. It is really in nice box with extra battery and screw. I liked how everything was packed. I already used product to measure bumpers that we are selling and will honestly admit that it worked great. I can easily switch from mm to inch with is helpful as well. I do not really liked wooden surface of plastic box but, I think it is a matter of taste. The product needs to measure and it does it very well. I bought this product at a discounted price so, I am really happy to have it. Thanks

Appears to be a quality device.

Got this instrument yesterday. The simulated wood grain case is solid and appears well designed. Not flimsy. The lid closes tightly. They include a nice lens cloth and extra battery. The instrument itself is well designed using metal instead of plastic. The lens appears to be glass. Movement is smooth and indicated measurements appear to be spot on. The fractional measurement is a great benefit over just sae and metric. The unit does all 3. Having only just recieving this item, I will update after some time and use passes. But so far this item has met or exceededmy expectations.

Good, repeatable caliper

I just got this, so no long term reviews, but it is well built - you can just tell from handling it. I also tried measuring many things with it, retesting zero after each of them, and I never had to reset zero once. The body is solid, and the materials are such that with normal use I expect it to last for many years.

Very impressed...

Only just received this tool today, but right out of the box it didn't fail to impress! I've purchased several of the less expensive calipers, and each has been horribly inaccurate. When I first unpacked this caliper from the box, I used it to measure the diameter of a .30 cal projectile (known to be .309"). It measured DEAD ON! But what was even more impressive is that when I closed the caliper, it went right to 000. I was never able to do that with the other units I had bought. So, if this thing lasts for more than a year, I'll (continue to) be very happy with the purchase.

here's the deal: this is better than most you're going to find at a decent price

1. lots of calipers are plastic -- nice for weight -- but they all seem to have bad reviews about the batter cover coming off. this thing has a screw holding the battery cover on. 2. i find the best test is to open and close the thing fast and see how much it's off. this thing is maybe off 1/1000 of an inch but that's really nothing. i mean, its *maybe* off by 1/1000. it's so small it's that sometimes it's off and sometimes it's not. so it's much better than my super cheap plastic one. 3. the lock is good. you screw it down and the thing stays put. again, not something that can be said for all calipers. i say go for it.

A good quality caliper with mm, decimal inch and inch fraction display

Looks like a good quality product (I just took possession of it). Nicely built, looks sturdy. In a custom case with an extra battery, a detailed user manual with pictures, a tool to open the battery compartment. It is reasonably priced. The major advantage on several competitors is the display in inch fractions, along with the usual mm and decimal in. displays. When someone works with inches, the decimal inches are generally useless and one has to have a conversion table at hand or a smart phone with a conversion app... Very convenient!

Awesome tech tool for an incredible price !

This is very well made, exactly as described and shown, and a steal for the price. I was able to test the accuracy against a known scale (military spec), it was right on the mark. I would buy this again absolutely. People pay $150 $160 and some $500 for a good caliber. Why? This is all you need unless you're doing mega micro physics or nuclear work in a (<0.0006 tolerance lab). They're smooth, they feel great (it has weight doesn't feel cheap at all) and well balanced, easy to operate. Awesome protective case too sturdy not some cardboard junk box or heavy paper. Everything about this speaks professional.

All I can say is WOW for this price. The finger roller is a nice touch and makes moving and measuring much easier to do accurately. Its very solid and a little heavy, which I guess is a good thing. This thing is beautiful to look at as well. Nice tough case that comes with it as well as a cleaning cloth. Has a fraction setting too which is cool. Although I can't say I've ever needed to know that something was 83/132ths long loI. would buy again if I had to. Great buy at this price. I wanted an inexpensive digital caliper and this is well made and accurate for the price. Not nearly as nice as a few higher end calipers I but very good for the price.
