I bought this electric knife because I wanted to slice my Thanksgiving turkey with it and also because it had a bread slicing knife. I read the previous reviews and was concerned when some wrote and said it would stop working if it hits a bone so I was careful not to get the blades near any turkey bones. It worked well for the turkey, and I especially love how the bread blades glide through my home made bread. I bought it along with the TFY bread slicing guide, and now I have perfectly sliced home made bread. The slices are evenly sliced every time ! No more wasted bread or uneven slices. The blades are more flimsy than previous electric knives I have had, but it seems to work just fine. So I gave it 5 stars.

The deal on 90% of the electric knives for me is the button on the bottom that have to be pulled slightly rearward to operate making nearly impossible to keep a grip and apply pressure when you are up to your elbows in Prime Rib juice :-) The button on the to is perfect as that is where you apply pressure anyway. The blades are sharp. The cleanup was easy. It mowed through (2) 15 lb Prime Rib with little effort!

I used this to carve our Thanksgiving day turkey, it worked great, much better than a carving knife. Stand, real wood, is also nice, has a place in the back to stuff the cord, looks good in my kitchen.

I'm kind of a knife snob and like well made knives that are beautiful and effective. This knife isn't beautiful and it's not a showpiece but if you need a work-horse to slice a ham or beef tenderloin or turkey and need it done fast. This is the knife. Whenever I ask somebody to use it they always tell me they don't use electric knives blah blah and proceed to tell me about their awesome knife they use for everything. I then show them that I have even more awesome carving knives...but just try this instead because we're in a hurry. They fire it up...and eat their words. It's not pretty and it's not old school and it doesn't feel as good as my real knives...but it does the job.

This electric knife has worked great for me. I love it for slicing fresh bread. I have used it for slicing thru frozen foods to make smaller portions and works great for slicing turkey, ham, and roast beef. It has been especially helpful as it makes slicing easier for my arthritic hands. Sometimes I have a bit of trouble keeping pressure on the "on" button because of the arthritis in my hands.

Bought the Cuisinart electric knife for Thanksgiving this year. Carving our 25 pound turkey went well. Blades tend to bend if to much pressure is applied but carves very well. I would recommend this product to anyone that uses an electric knife on special occasions like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc..

I make my families bread homemade, which is about 5-6 loaves at a time every week or so. I used to cut it by hand but it would smoosh or get misshaped. I was told to get an electric knife and got this one because it was Amazon recommended and had good reviews. I have used it once to slice 6 loaves of homemade white bread. It worked like a charm! It wasn't really any faster (I have a slicing guide and it fit fine in it - not too short of a blade like some complained, it was a fine length for mine - but because of the little bumps on the end of the knife I had to realign it with each slice, but not a big deal), but it was super easy and all my slices were straight and even and didn't smash my bread. It was awesome and I will never go back to hand slicing again. There was a slight warm/hot smell and it got a little warm by the end of using it, but I'm not sure if that was just breaking it in for the first time, ot just doing so much at once, but it didn't get too hot and worked perfectly the whole time. So far, I recommend it.

I just received this knife so I cannot comment yet on the durability concerns about the handle. I can comment, however, about the stand. In other reviews, it was said that it was a piece of junk. No it's not. It seems very well made and attractive on the counter. It was also said that the handle will not fit into the stand. Yes it does and it holds it perfectly. Finally there were reviews that there is no place to store the cord. Yes there is, right in back if you use the counter stand. Did I get something different from these folks?

I purchased this after doing my own research but also reading the reviews. I had an older electric knife that came to its natural end. The two blade sets (bread and carving ) was a pleasant surprise. I have used it throughout the holiday season to carve our prime rib and several roasts. It worked like a dream even though I have a very nice set of high end carving knives. It is very smooth and has a great feel allowing for excellent control. I was able to easily cut some of the meat paper thin. I really love this knife and highly recommend it. The price is excellent as well!

I really like this knife because the cord doesn't disconnect from the body like my last one did. However, I have found it a bit difficult getting the blades to fit in the body. Instead of having both blades next to one another, these blades go in one ahead of the other. More like having one foot leading with the other foot behind. I accidentally inserted the blades upside down once. After figuring things out, I have been happy with the knife. The blades cut very nicely.
