Great for range use.
I purchased this mainly for range use. Works great for that. Used it out to 400 yards and could make out target hits without any difficulty. Just make sure you use light targets or splatter targets at the extream ranges. Not as clear as my Leopold or Nikon scopes but for the price it’s clarity is great. The 80mm has a very bright picture. Eye Relief is a bit short but good once you get used to it.

Amazing spotting scope with BAK4 glass for under $150
This is the best deal for the money I have found. I started with a $50 Harbor Freight spotting scope-20-60x 60mm. Okay, but hard to focus at 60x, severely compromised in low light. Then I went to Amazon and looked at the Amazon preferred by GoSky 20-60x 80mm. Much better than the earlier one, but still difficult to focus at 60x. I also ordered this SVBONY 20-60x 80mm. It was only $10 more than the GoSky, but it was almost twice the scope. The GoSky had one advantage, an attached lens cap on the front and a screw on cover for the eye piece. The SVBONY lens caps are okay, not attached. Everything else was better. Much clearer glass (BAK4 -Chinese version, not quite European BAK4, but a big improvement in light transmission). All three I believe to be made in the same Chinese factory, but they have different quality glass and this one stands out. It is not going to perform like a $2000 European made scope, but it is very usable for less than $150. The table top stand is actually very stable, but nothing fancy. The cellphone mount works pretty well, although I removed the rubber side pieces as my Note5 in a minimal case barely fit in the holders and the rubber parts just made it unstable. My goal was a scope that would show .30 cal holes in paper at 600 yds. I have not tried it yet, but I think this will do it. I could read the annual license plate sticker clearly on a car about 200 yards away. I could not do that with either of the other two I tested. Photo was taken on my Samsung Note5 attached to the scope at an indoor range at 100 yds. Most of the holes are 22lr. The two larger holes are .30 cal. Phone was digitally zoomed slightly. Scope was focused at 60x.

We are very happy with the purchase of this spotting scope. It’s excellent.
This is our first time ordering a spotting scope. We are amazed at how awesome this one is. Set it up the first day and surprisingly you can see for miles. We just moved near the beach and we can see lighthouses miles away. We can’t wait to see whales. We felt buying a middle of the road in cost would be adequate and it far better than we thought. I can’t tell you how many reviews we read and we decided on this one because it had five stars and liked what others said about it. We highly recommend this scope. BTW, many people complained about the tripods that came with the scopes they ordered.......the tripod we received is very good-no complaints and the camera attachment was easy to set up and worked great.

Very Good Scope for a Low Price!
I took this out yesterday to the range. Unfortunately, our longest shooting distance is 100 yards. The scope worked flawlessly and is very sharp. With the magnification this scope has, I don't think it will be any problem using it for longer distances. I am really impressed with this scope and I would recommend it wholeheartedly! I am not to impressed with the cell phone adapter but it didn't cost any extra. If you only get to the range five or six times a year, this could be the perfect spotting scope for you. It is lightweight, rubber coated, waterproof and has a very nice case.

Great quality at a very affordable price!
Got this in Saturday, but had to wait for a "no-rain" day to test it. Set it up on the front porch, with the tripod that came with it. The furnished tripod will work okay up to 35-40X, but don't move, or even breath near the scope on a higher setting, or you will feel like you are experiencing an earth quake. Set it up on my good Vanguard camera tripod, and played with the settings from 20X all the way out to 60X. The 80 mm objective lens lets plenty of light in on high settings. Will have to try at sunset to check for low light. I assume since the magnification is 60X, the larger objective lens allows a sharper focus, especially around the edges at higher multipliers. I know that can be an issue with camera lenses, so would assume the same here. Focused on some pine trees somewhere between 500 and 800 yards out. Nice, clear view with great detail on all settings. Could have counted individual needles at 60x! The focus knob is easy to reach, and turns smoothly to minimize shaking at higher magnifications. Although one would normally find a viewing target at lower magnification and focus, you will need to do minor re-focusing as you move to higher magnifications. Considering the low cost of this unit, that is not an issue to be concerned with and works well enough to be considered a plus for the unit. The construction seems solid, the scope has a great feel, a little heavy, but okay for a well-constructed and BIG scope. In the specs, they give size in mm, but I grew up in an inch world, so was a little bigger than I expected when I opened the box. A plus is the large ring at the 80 mm end pulls out for a sun shade to keep stray light off the lens. The lens caps fit well and stay put. The magnification dial and focus knob are relatively easy and smooth to turn, and both stay put when set. The eye peace has a nice eye shield that turns smoothly to help with eye placement for easy viewing. The scope comes with a smart phone holder that I saw others criticize. Yeah, maybe it could be better, but it does work. Patiently following the instructions helps. I have a Samsung Galaxy 6 (I know, old technology, but serves me well) Attaching a photo taken using the phone mount. I think the next step will be to get an adapter to attach to my Canon cameras. I bought this mainly to use at the shooting range, but suspect the quality will encourage me to take it as part of my regular camera gear when I go on a photo shoot. It is just that nice to use.

VERY HAPPY!
I've struggled for years with an under-$100 spotting scope, 20 to 60 zoom. I think it was $60, a Simmons. At 20X it wasn't too bad. At 60X all the faults are magnified...blurry, chromatic abberation (rainbow effect), dark image. Full disclosure: We have used an amazing $4000 scope while on vacation spotting birds in Costa Rica, so I know what the best looks like. Anyway, a couple weeks ago we were on our weekly drive through the local wildlife refuge to observe birds. We get a lot of Canadian geese. Sometimes snow geese and great white American pelicans. They were on the far pond maybe a half mile off. White birds could be seen with the naked eye, but what were they? Using the old scope all I could see was a blur. My cleaver wife had her consumer grade 40X camera. She was able to get useable photos, snow geese for sure. Frustrating. Well, that did it. I started a search for a better instrument that wouldn't break the bank. Top of the line is several thousand dollars. I was willing to go $150, maybe $200. I checked recommendations on birder websites and of course Amazon. After an extensive search I decided this was worth a try. It arrived minutes ago. I quickly set the two scopes up on tripods and focused on the neighboors house about two hundred yards away. Both set for 60X. Results: the old...blurry, rainbows, dark; the new..., sharp, no rainbows, bright. And the SVBONY covers a much larger area, about twice the size. The Xmas led lights strung along the eve...could hardly tell they were there with the old; could see individual lights with the new. I was hoping it would be really good and it is. I'm sold. I'm keeping it. Can't wait to go birding. Plus, it comes with a built in shoe that fits the tripod...very handy, unexpected feature. UPDATE: This past weekend we made our usual Sunday cruise through the Wildlife Refuge. Saw three eagle on Riverside Rd going out. We noticed hundreds of Canadian Geese floating on the river. Normally they would be on the ponds in the Refuge. Once at the ponds all became clear. They were frozen over. With the SVBony I could clearly see they were either sitting or standing on the ice. Nice sharp image. Still happy.

Head to head with $600 scopes
I'll echo several other reviews here and say I am really shocked at what you get for your money with this scope. I'm no optics expert, but I needed a new scope, and had a budget of $500-$600 tops. I ordered this scope, as well as the well-reviewed Celestron 52305 Regal M2 80ED ($590) and the Nikon Prostaff 5 82mm 20-60x ($597), to compare all three "side by side." The Celestron and Nikon were *slightly* brighter (as one would expect from their specs), but not by much. Clarity throughout the zoom range was comparable, at least to my eyes. I had several family members look through all three (nature/wildlife viewing, not target/shooting uses), and all of them said the differences--if any--were slight. When I told them that two of these scopes cost nearly 5x what the other one did, they were shocked. If size/weight matter, this scope also compares well. The Celestron is approx 20" x 4" and 4lbs7oz. The Nikon: 18" x 3.75" and 2lbs12oz. This scope is approx 17" x 3.75" and 2lb7oz. So very light/compact, and a nice rubberized finish. I also preferred the soft rubber "slip over" design of the caps to Nikon's hard "camera style" ones. The Celestron was a beast and I would have rejected it based on size/weight alone since I was seeing no benefit in terms of better optics/view. For anyone interested in digiscoping, this scope does come with a universal phone adapter, which appears identical to models selling elsewhere on Amazon for around $15. This adapter is pretty lousy and very difficult to get set up correctly, but it will work, and neither the Celestron or Nikon came with one. I ended up buying the "Gosky Spotting Scope Smartphone Camera Adapter, Telescope Camera Adapter, Cell Phone Adapter Mount" which works considerably better; I'm including a photo taken with that adapter and this scope and a Samsung S7 phone (scope at 20x). I really don't see the point of digiscoping compared to a decent bridge/superzoom camera like the Nikon P900, but it will work with this setup. But bottom-line, it seems you get a tremendous value with this scope--assuming it holds up over time.

awesome for the price, this thing is sharp
One of the best optical quality spotting scopes in this price range. I have tried out different entry-level spotting scopes and this thing will get you out to distance if you're a long range shooter. I had no problem spotting trace, and impacts/splashes at 427 yards on 10" steel plates with decent clarity. I only wish they made this version as a straight view option. (the S17 25-75x75mm is a pos)

Amazing scope! Really.
Ok, I was very skeptical. All 5 star reviews for a $100 Chinese scope? They must be bogus and this thing must be junk. But I took a chance and ordered it. Figured I could always return it. Well, this scope is amazing. I am stunned honestly. It is Sharp even at 60mm and the eye relief loses very little when zoomed all the way out. The 80mm objective makes for a really bright image. The contrast is very good. Reading a street sign a block and a half away was not a problem. Clear and Sharp. I am sure viewing targets out to 250 or longer won't be a problem. No cons to this thing. I love it and highly recommend it. Not paid for this review. Don't have any relationship with the seller. Just a guy that rolled the dice and ended up with a great scope at a great price.

Heck of a deal!
I am not a optician, not an engineer or such, but I do own several good long range rifle scopes! So, being aware how much good optics cost....because good quality glass is important and not cheap to have....I was more then surprised what this spotting scope can do. first impression is its lightweight, feels a bit cheap?! It has a wonderful pull out sun shade up front! The dial for the focus is super fine and easy to use. Eye piece has rubber cup that moves up or down, which helps with eye relief. Turning the zoom ring feels slightly gritty... Well balanced and 3 options on the thread plate for the tripod. Scope has metal thread on bottom eye piece for protection cap, but no cap included... Eye piece protection cap for front and back lenses are out of rubber, the large back lens cap is a small pain to put back on but protects well. Phone adapter comes with it and works real well. It has a small rail on sunshade for aiming at targeted objects, works nice... Ok, now to the performance....I took it out and mounted it on a professional sturdy SLR camera tripod, which is a must do!! Dialed in lowest 20X zoom and looked across our valley on the other side of a farm hill, about 400 yards verified with my range finder.... Wow, it was fixing to rain, no sun and later in the afternoon...I was actually able to pick up flowers and would been able to identify what kinds of growing on this pasture!! No black ring around the eye piece, the eye piece distance worked great....no shadow or such.....I had the retractable cup all the way out which worked best for me, both eyes open or my dominant eye open only. Colors are great, no visible blurriness on the very outer edge of the lens at 20X!! I went to 30X and still the very fine focus worked great, very crisp sharpness, could clearly identify the eyelashes of the animal!!! A large rock formation at 350+ yards I could easily see fine Moss and grass growing there....Impressive... As I am planning to use this spotting scope for the shooting range at 100 yards and for future long range shooting 600 yards+, I had to stretch it out to more distance the next day. Sunny and mid day light, at ranges ranged to 600+ yards I would be easily able to see hits at a metal gong lets say 2 MOA or so(12X12 inch ) Paper targets, I am sure 223, 6.5 and 30 cal impacts should be no problem to 300 yards!! Next was a enclosed deer stand build across the alley, I know its about 1.6 Miles away....at 30X I was clearly able to see the windows, would been able to see if anybody was inside!!!!! Wow....stretching it to about estimated 2 Miles, looking at a Telephone tower, I could very easy and as a sharp image see the different parts, lines and cables on top of the tower.... Using this spotting scope at 60X is possible but sharpness will decline a quiet a bit, as expected in this price range.....slightly foggy image and eye distance to eye piece way more difficult.....BUT doable. My best view was between 20X and say 50- X, which 20 was cristal clear and sharp, VERY usable at 35X and then down from there a bit.... Conclusion: NO, its not a Swarovski, not even an Athlon....BUT heck fire....for a $139 spotting scope it is a super deal, very much quality of more expensive glassed scopes and absolutely good enough for what I need it for.... Will it hold up to wear and tear...that we have to see. I like it and can recommend it!!
