Item is as advertised, heavy duty. The case appears to be made of a semi flexible plastic that will not crack or break in extreme cold. The 7-pin connector is molded and the contacts appear to be copper. The eight foot cable is just the perfect length for my four pin to seven pin conversion. Just installed it today and all the colors are correct and match the wiring connections for my truck. Time will tell the durability of the case and wiring harness and the internal wiring connections.

Much better than the wiring that came on my 5th wheel 2009 RV raptor 42 foot trailer as this one has double the connection on the plug. The yellow is not used. It is used for reverse. But all of the wiring is the same. Just make sure to mark all connections with electrical labels and you should be fine. I was having trouble with the electric brakes and thought that there was a problem with the electric brake controller but it was just a poor design of the original plug with single prong connections. Now everything is hunky dory.

So far before install the junction box is a tad big, HOWEVER this is nice depending on how you plan to wire, all connectors are marked in box , comes with a diagram , comes with open/close grommets , the wires themselves are pretty heavy duty, the plug itself looks great , it’s a pretty darn good product for the price honestly!

I purchased this wiring assembly to replace/repair the existing one I accidentally sheared off our Travel Trailer. This cable assembly is extremely well constructed and is totally compatible with my existing 7 pin vehicle and trailer wiring. I particularly liked the way the preassembled junction box wires are labeled, color coded, prewired and waterproof when assembled for long lasting durability. Just attach the proper wire size ring connector to your existing cable and match the wire colors on the attachment points. Suggest you don't guess what length you need to purchase. Be sure to measure allowing for mounting location obstacles, routing and attachment.

This works great and was aperfect length for a dump trailer I purchased. The cord seems to be decent quality. I like having the option to access the box if ever needed to. The dump trailer wireing didn’t originally trickle charge my 12 volt battery on the trailer. With this setup I was able to easily add that feature, so now when it’s plugged up to my truck it will trickle charge my battery. I also was able to add a reverse led light so I can see when backing up. This unit made it very easy. *Note- the color code wires for my trailer was not the same as the box. That was just a lazy installer on the trailer manufacturer not the wireing harness. I payed attention and was easily able to work it all out.

Not big on reviews, but I felt I needed to post on this one. I had added backup lights and a 12v+ hot wire to a 5'x8' cargo trailer, and needed to supply them via my 7-pin connector, I initially bought just an end to go on and wire up, but then I saw this, and the junction box appealed to me as opposed to just wiring them to a plug. I was expecting the normal low-grade Chinese import junk, which still would have served my purpose, but this thing far exceeds what I expected even though it IS a Chinese import. Well built, molded heavy plastic construction, with multiple possible wire entrance points, solid large screws to hold the top on, and several (more than needed) grommets to seal the extra openings. Internal strain reliefs at each opening, too. Plug is solid, molded to the outer cable material, and the cable is far more flexible than I thought it would be - soft enough to make about an 8" coil even in cool (45-s50º) weather. Plenty of room inside to make several connections if needed, and the studs held up well to some fairly strong torquing. Nice tight connection to the truck socket.

Ordered this junction box in the beginning of the summer for my utility trailer and to date I am very happy with the purchase. I've wired several trailers over the years with those cheap kits from HF but never again this is definitely the way to go. This is a really nice quality pre wired piece for the money and it makes the install much easier. No more spliced wires, just make all your connections at the box ( which is clearly labeled in the included instructions) and you are good to go. My trailer lights are much brighter than before and if any future issues pop up troubleshooting should be much easier with the accessibility of all the connections in one place.

This is an excellent product which really upgraded my trailer lighting. One thing I would prefer would be to have 4 screws holding the weather tight cover in place instead of the 2. Last week I was driving through Queretaro in Mexico when a retread spun off a tractor trailer and hit my truck dead on. I drove over it, and it popped up and hit my trailer hitching arm, smashing the Mictuning junction box. Although the box was ruined, the wiring posts were still in tact and my lights continued to function. I will buy another one of these to replace this one. I wish I could just buy the box as the cord is fine.

I had a defective (split) connector blade in my 7-way plug that prevented me from fully sliding the plug into the male receptacle, plus, there was already a repair on the cable itself. Having a terminal block made perfect sense to me. But rather than mount the box outside on the front framework, I decided to bring the terminal box inside the trailer for an easier, waterproof mount. Make sure you measure your replacement needs first. Eight feet worked out to be enough for me, but just barely. I can see where a trailer with a longer front frame might need more cable. Mounting and connector instructions are great. Keep in mind the nuts on the terminal posts are 8mm, and you'll need a nut driver. Overall, I'm pleased with this product, tho I wish they would have included a plug cap.

This is a really good box for wiring a trailer. Just a note about the wiring. There is 3 wiring patterns for a 7 way plug: 1. 7-way traditional 2. 7-way RV standard 3. 7-way Heavy duty This box is wired in the 7-way RV standard configuration. My suggestion is to use a tester on your vehicle first to be sure of how it is wired then compare it to the wiring diagram sent with this unit. This might save some headache later. It doesn’t make sense to me why there is three different color patterns to accomplish the same result but I hope this information helps. This is a well made item.
