Well made and durable
These sand bags are very well made and the zipper closure makes them easy to fill. I prefer pea sized gravel instead of sand because it is less likely to leak out and cause a mess on the floor. If any does get out it is also easier to pick up. I gave up on sand for my sand bag weights years ago.

perfect for the job!
I use these to weight down a photo booth backdrop and also for pop-up shade canopies. The work great. I would suggest that you use 2 - 1 gallon size ziplock bags to place your sand in before putting them into the packs. This will allow you to not have to work about sand leaking out should the get roughed up a bit. I have 8 of them, they work perfect.

Great quality, great price!
Very nice quality. I put sand into plastic ziplock storage bags, then placed those inside of these sandbags, then zipped them up. No problems, no issues. These are great for helping to hold your lighting kits in place, etc. Fill them to the weight of what you feel you'll need. Filmmakers and photographers alike should be using these to steady their gear. I use these on the rear of my camera jib too, all without any hassle.

Works for what I need
I was needing some weight for a 10'X10' canopy and from what I found online the minimum weight per leg should be 24 lbs. Plate weights run $24 for 24 .lbs or $100 for all 4 legs. I spent a total of $30 on these bags to include the pea gravel and some rope. I was able to get about 1.25 cubic feet (3 average bags) of pea gravel in all 4 bags which got them all to 24 lbs. I probably can get another pound or two in after everything settles but I think 24 .lbs. will be just fine for me. I then tied some rope to the bags and to each canopy corner. I think it should work out.

Cannot believe the quality on this for the price
I cannot believe this product has negative reviews. For the price, its hard to believe that this company is making any profit :-) it also has double zippers on each bag for extra security which is a great attention to detail. The zippers are plastic and could break if mishandled. But then I don’t plan on using them again now that I’ve filled them with rocks. Also I put the river rocks inside old pairs of socks, double-triple cushioned them and then put them in the bags. This provides a little bit of cushioning if it ever falls on my foot or an object, and also will keep the inside bag clean.

Good quality
These are just as pictured. The quality seems good. I got these to weigh down my Christmas tree to keep my excited corgi pup from knocking it over. It’s probably the only thing that saved the tree. I did use small pebbles instead of rocks, though, so I can’t speak for the spill-proof feature but I had no filler loss myself.

Great product
I love everything about the sandbags. My intended purpose is to fill them with sand and place over my PVC furniture rungs on the balcony to prevent them from moving in high winds.

sturdy construction. I used Ziploc baggies inside
Tough, sturdy construction. I used Ziploc baggies inside, to make it easier should I ever want to take the sand out. I also used crushed coral, just because it was handy from an old aquarium, and such pieces are larger than sand grains. Weight wise, each of my bags ended up at exactly 10 lbs. There was room for more, but I didn't try to max them out. For my use (holding down light stands) 10 lbs works fine. The included carabiners are nice to have.

Really great!!
These work so well! Really well designed. I got a bag of sand from Walmart and some quart ziplock bags, worked perfectly and fit great in these. Now my lighting stands are sturdy and I'm not afraid of them falling and shattering my bulbs. Highly recommend!!

Big & Sturdy
Probably the sturdiest bags I've seen on Amazon to date, I'd buy more if they were still available in the same color. They larger size is nice for extra weight in the studio but it does keep them from being put between legs of smaller stands and stools so keep usage in mind.Bad reviews are largely user error, over filling or leaving handles to opposite sides but like anything that takes so much abuse it should be expected to wear out eventually.
