there were some reviews on here that stated this lift is unsafe. I have to say that is an inaccurate statement and I am glad I bought this item. I used this lift this past weekend and THIS LIFT HAS MADE MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER. There was no way I would be able to put the ceiling drywall without this lift. I do not do this type of work so I cannot say this is perfect for a professional. However, it has been invaluable to me. RECOMMENDED 200%

Very happy with this hoist. It made my ceiling job a breeze. I love the fact that it is easy to move the drywall as it starts to hit the ceiling. The ceiling I did was huge took 9 sheets of drywall. Only took about 3 hours to hang it..Would recommend

At the price point of this hoist it is a good value, it may not stand up to commercial work but for the average do it yourselfer it is less expensive than renting one if you need it for more than a couple of days. I'm pleased with my purchase.

I was going to rent one but saw this one for the price and decided to buy...well worth the investment and I will be using it again to help out others. The assembly took a few minutes to understand only because the directions are not the best but it went together with no issues. I was successful in hanging sheets to a 12 foot high ceiling so the lift needed to go 8 feet and was pretty smooth. If you expect to just wheel it around and crank it up without being careful, then this is not for you. Just like any tool you should take precautions and use it wisely. I noticed some posts about the wheel holder bending...well this could be an issue if you handle it carelessly. I am very happy with the purchase and it came apart just as easy and was able to put it back in the original box for storage.

I rarely write product reviews. This drywall lift is a game changer! I was skeptical because of some of the negative, 1-star reviews, not just for this product but other lifters costing less than $400. I decided to risk purchasing it given that the cost is on par with a rental. The box arrived ripped and mangled, but all the pieces survived, aside from one small dent in the metal. I put it together and wow! The quality is great, especially for something at this price point. I don’t doubt that the $1,200 lifters are quite a bit nicer, and would probably withstand the daily abuse of a professional lugging it from job site to job site. But for a DIY homeowner, you can’t beat this drywall lifter. Some reviews claim this unit is unstable or fell over. My suggestion is to be very careful attaching the main vertical bar to the tripod base. It’s a tight fit, and if not properly aligned, it could pop out and fall over. But if you attach it correctly, it’s very stable.

Don't know how I hung drywall without one of these all those times in the past. Very good heavy duty lift. Surprised it went up around 15' and is able to adjust sizes easily. Very easy to take apart to store or transport and re-assemble. Made it possible for me to hang drywall by myself on cellings and walls.

I've never used one of these lifts before, but figured I'd better go for it with a couple ceiling projects I had in mind. Wow! These things are GREAT! Simple to use, sturdy. Easy to assemble and disassemble (allow about one minute - no instructions necessary, either). I was continually amazed at how the design anticipated my every need during construction. This thing was so pleasurable to use I was actually sad to retire it to the garage once the drywall (12' lengths no less) and moulding was in place!

I can't believe it! It took NO MORE THAN 5 MIN TO Assemble, Easiest assemble I ever done putting something together. NO TOOLS REQUIRED YES NO TOOLS REQUIRED. It comes in 7 Pieces That SIMPLY fit into another with breeze. I swear if you need a Sheetrock jack BUY THIS ONE!!!!!!! THIS GETS THE NASCAR SPEED ASSEMBLE AWARD!!!!!!!!!!!

Came in lots of pieces but once assembled it does the job. It's slow going to get the sheetrock panels raised to ceiling height, but if you're working solo it's a good tool to have.

While it's no professional-quality item as used by contractors, it absolutely does the job for this do-it-yourselfer. Open the box, unfold and lock the base frame, drop the column into place, bolt the hand crank to the wheel, slide in the extensions and snap in the cross braces. Done and ready to use. Less than 5 minutes to unbox and set up. My only gripe is the fold-down chromed hooks that catch the drywall sheet when you're loading it don't snap into place securely and can sometimes droop, make loading the sheet tougher. If I'm careful not to bump them when loading it's not a big deal. I'll eventually adjust the spring tensioners to hold them a bit more firmly. Using this hoist I've been able to install a drywall ceiling in my garage working alone. I wish I'd had this years ago when redoing ceilings in my house; would have saved me a lot of time (and cursing). Considering it's half the cost of what "Horror Fright" wants for one, and it's been working great so far, I almost wish I could give it 6 stars.
