Adding to HomeKit was easy, it seemed to automatically pair to any Apple TV on the HomeKit AppleID via Bluetooth, which is great if you want to minimize IP devices utilized by home automation. Response time is impressive. For a while I had this switch on/off my vacuum charger upon sunrise/sunset to eliminate annoying LED flashing at night. Could also be useful for measuring appliance wattage, or switching off a coffee heater after a timer initiated by heater status. I recommend getting a right angle 3prong power dongle (make sure to get 15+amp rating) if the Eve Energy will be installed behind or under furniture.

Great device in the long run, but was difficult to setup with my Apple iPad. I followed the instructions which appeared to allow me to setup the device with ease. Then 5 minutes later it was gone from the Apple Homekit app and from the Eve app. I restarted my iPad and had to perform a hard reset for the Eve Energy. The hard reset worked, but the instructions were not very clear on how to do it. Basically, you keep unplugging/plugging back in the device and hold down the the led button (for like 20 seconds!) until the led blinks red repeatedly. Then you can add the device again. Just a heads up that you might have to pair it again to your smart home. The website says it can be problematic if you update the apple ios. Just don't give up on it. Quick update. Have been using it for 1 month with no issues. Works great. Will buy another.

To check how much our window fans were consuming, I decided to buy this unit from EVE/ELGATO to complement our HomeKit setup. Works Perfectly, and if you enter your power bill's details (cost per KWh) you can let the system calculate how much money that appliance is sucking up.

I have used other smart plugs in the past - but these blow them away. It's clear that the build quality is just different with these, and the attention to detail in the app is truly top notch. The ability to track how much energy is being used on a minute to minute basis is pretty astounding. The reason I really love this thing is the ability to control with my "Home" app on my iPhone in addition to setting up complicated automations with the "Shortcut" app. I can have my lights turn off at bedtime, sounds of rain start, and have the fan turn on. I can do the opposite as well. I would highly recommend this product. It's truly top notch!

Bought these along with another brand. I've just about forgotten about these because THEY JUST WORK. The other brand I am constantly having to reset. I was fearful because these were Bluetooth instead of WIFI, but I have found that the range works just fine in my 1600 sq ft house. Also, I was pleased that these leave the upper outlet socket more accessible.

this product is by far the best on the market for apple Homekit, it has so many features, just be patience when you are trying to pair this with your homekit (apple tv) and you should be ok, also if you are trying to pair it with your Homekit, make sure you open the apple homekit app first to pair it. I love this device, and I will definitely buy more of this thank you.

So far I'm enjoying the Elgato Eve Energy Switch & Power. I've been looking for a HomeKit enabled outlet switch for a while and have tried iDevices and WeMo switches. Here is a quick rundown of what I think of each iDevices Switch is an overall good product and has the cleanest and most modern product design of the bunch (in my opinion). It has a nice feature of having a night light that you can turn on or off separately from what you are powering. However the app setup is trickier of the bunch, and the product continually lost connection for me so I was not able to power it via HomeKit because of lost connections. WeMo has the best packaging, app design and setup. However the product is bulky, and took up the most space. It took up so much space that I was unable to use the second outlet. And, it was not HomeKit enabled. It lost connection on my a couple of times and sometimes the app would hang and spin for me. I really wanted to like this device because it was promising but not being HomeKit enabled where I can access Control Center to quickly control my outlets gave this product a bit too much friction for me. ElGato Eve energy is also bulky but does not hinder me from using the second outlet. The button to power the outlet manually is a bit small but I rarely use it. Their app is ok, much better than iDevices and gives me similar data from the WeMo. So far I'm liking it and has not lost connection on me which is a major plus. I would recommend this product for anyone who wants the least amount of friction of the three products I've tried.

I have two of these smart switches. I previously had a different smart switch and ended up returning it trying one of these (I liked it so much, I got a second one). The other switches had varying amounts of delay when turning on or off, the Eve Smart Switch is basically immediate in activation. Pros: 1. No hub required. If you have read any of my other reviews on HomeKit, you will know I feel strongly about hubs. These do not require a hub or anything else. Just plug it in and set it up. 2. Quick efficient set up via the Eve app or the Home app. 3. You can track the electric consumption via the Eve app. 4. It has physical switch/indicator light. You can manually turn on/off and it lets you know the status (green is on, no light is off). 5. Programmable schedule is fully customizable. I have devices programmed to come on and shut off at specific times of the day. This is also great if you have something that uses electricity when it doesn't need to, you can have the switch turn it off when not in use. Con: 1. The switch is pretty big, as long as you put it on the bottom outlet, you can still use the top one, but for putting on power strips or the top outlet, it does block other outlets. Not a huge deal, but it is something to be aware of. I love the switches and highly recommend them.

It works as advertised. I like that it keeps correct time. Especially when we have power outage, change of time or things like accidental rotation of timer as happens in regular timers. This is why I too much like this timer and would buy this again. You canteen turn off and on from your cell phone. How cool is that? Like it very mucho.

Opened the package, plugged it in, downloaded the app, connected the lamp. Boom. It really was quite easy. It also linked all our other accessories together (ironically better than HomeKit does!) and I could even control them with little ease. Time will tell - but the easiest plug and go automation yet! Wish pricing was a little less so that I could configure my entire house.
