Not going to pay $50 for the gopro case
After reading horrible reviews of the battery life on the hero 7 in the snow, I got this to have the camera function normally and also to prevent the lens from getting scratches from ice, snow, rocks etc when skiing. I was less concerned about the camera being wet. The first case I got, when I tried to remove the protective sticker on the back, it left a sticky residue that would not come off no matter what I used (soap, water, nail polish remover). I thought to myself why am I doing this so I wrote to them and they promptly sent me a new one that had clean sticker removal. I wasn't about to shell out $50 for the gopro one. This one seems comparable. I put a paper towel in the case and submerged it under water for an hour. When I opened it up, the paper towel was still dry. It seems like it will suit my purpose.

High Quality - Love it
This thing is great. Bought if for my trip across Europe but only for when I scuba dive. Use it first in Silfra, Iceland and it was fantastic!

Water tight
After reading another reviewer, I was sure to get silicone before my first dive with this case. I did 11 dives this last week ranging anywhere from 30-90ft and the case was great! Fit my GoPro Hero 5 perfectly. Very pleased it stayed water tight!

Great alternative to the Dive Suit
I bought this for my GoPro Hero5 over the Dive Suit mainly because this model does not require the removal of the front camera cover. Pop the latch, insert the camera, close the latch. Done. It mounts exactly like the Dive Suit and the mounting tabs work with all GoPro mounts. I just returned from a 4 day diving trip to Key Largo. The housing gets 5 stars. The inside of the housing stayed bone dry. No leaks from either the rear hatch or any buttons. It mounted to my Makit 360 Degree Rotating Sports Camera Wrist Strap with zero issues. There are filters available for this housing that fit over the lens port. You have to make SURE you are buying filters for this specific model as the lens port is larger than the Dive Suit to accommodate the entire camera. Having the clear back plate made selecting Camera Modes a no guesswork affair and framing shots easy as the LCD is visible. You cannot use the touch feature on the LCD as the back hatch is hard plastic. The buttons were easy to operate. Max depth for the dives was 26 feet so I was not pushing the design limits of the case. -- Update -- I have had this case for well over a year now. Several dives to 60 feet and the inside of the case is still bone dry. The only part that does not look brand new is the thumbscrew. Since I have used this several times in salt water, there is some corrosion on the threads. Not enough to cause it not to work. If you are more diligent than I was of freshwater rinsing it, I doubt it would be an issue. However replacements are dirt cheap. Interestingly enough, the camera still picks up quite a bit of underwater sound. My last trip to the Keys you could hear the background crunching of trigger fish eating the reef.

Like a OEM
This case seems exactly like the factory waterproof cases for gopros older cameras, except for the knob on the screw. I like this one better. It’s wingnut shape lets you tighten it easier. My camera doesn’t need as much adjusting now. I bought this for the GoPro Hero 2018 for use in saltwater. Has worked well for me so far!

Great Case for the price
Used in Mexico in and out of the water. I was very happy with the case. It protected my go pro and made me feel much more comfortable with it underwater. I never took it deeper than about 6 or 7 ft so I can't speak to that. It did not seem to cloud the picture. I'm sure there are better ones but I'm guessing you'll really pay for it. I'd definitely buy again. When I first got it and tried to open the case the latch snapped off. I thought it may be broke but gently snapped in back into place and it works flawlessly.

Added protection and piece of mind
I purchased this case for some added protection for my GoPro Hero 5 Black when I inevitably drop or scratch it. I previously owned a Hero 3, but it was dropped while out of its case for charging and the lens was irreparably damaged. While the Hero 5 Black has a front lens that is much more easily replaced, the back display screen is not. This housing case gives me some peace of mind when handling my GoPro in the field. Best thing about this Kupton housing case is you don't need to take off the front lens cover to insert it into the casing (see my previous mistake of dropping my Hero 3 while charging outside of the case). That and it's about half the price of the OEM housing. Only suggestion to Kupton is to add something softer (e.g., rubber) to the inside portion of the button mechanisms, as the metal ends leave some marks on the actual GoPro itself. Minor downside versus the OEM housing, but still a great case overall.

Awesome product!
This case came in fairly quick! It was in perfect condition and fits my GoPro Hero 5 like a glove! It has a protective film on it so there is no scratches.

Worked great in Iceland!
Got this for our trip to Iceland, mainly for the snorkeling in Silfra. Was in the 33F water for 45 minutes recording and never had any issues. Stayed dry (and warm I’m sure) the entire time. I know the 5 is waterproof but was worried about the cold water having a negative effect on battery life.

the case comes with its own bracket accessories which are the things you put on the bottom of the go pro case so that you could attach to other accessories like a helmet or mount ETC
As a swimmer, I wanted to make sure I could film myself swimming from underwater so that I could check my techniques. Although I knew that he GoPro Hero 5 was waterproof, I wanted to make sure that it had extra protection. First, the case comes with its own bracket accessories which are the things you put on the bottom of the go pro case so that you could attach to other accessories like a helmet or mount ETC. The case itself is well built with lining on the inside of the case to help prevent water from entering. The waterproof case functions similarly to a case built by GoPro, but cheaper in price Some things to keep in mind: the case is not touch screen but there are built in buttons on the case so that you could switch modes, or start and stop filming. (These buttons can be used underwater) The case itself should not be used to be balanced on. In other words, it will tip over so make sure you get a mount or something sturdy if you're planning on using this by placing it on a ground or something. My experience: I put the case of the ground of the swimming pool. The videos came out clear and amazing with no water at al!
