Much better then expected.

Did not disappoint. Usually this type of sharpener performs fair to moderate. However, after sharpening 11 Wusthoff knifes, I was very favorably impressed with the quality of it's performance. Knives returned to the sharpness of when they were new. Great sharpener.

Great bargain, Great Seller

Arrived fast, easy to use, and hold onto while sharpening. I sharpened (by now) 5 or 6 pairs of perfectly good scissors that had become useless before I sharpened them so easily. I also just sharpened all my kitchen knives that I use in cooking. Since my knives were expensive and liberally used, they really needed a good sharpening, and worked great with them as well. Thanks for offering this nice product at a nice price. It's got a nice quality.

Finally sharp knives!

I have never had a knife sharpener before, always thinking them to be sort of silly and taking up valuable counter or drawer space. My husband disagreed and so I gave in a bought this one. It actually is amazing. I had no idea how better life is with sharp knives. And this sharpener is compact and easily fits in a drawer without taking up too much space. It is simple to use and I really was surprised to realize that what I thought was "sharp" was not. So make your husband happy and buy this.

I used it on a vegetable knife that has been dull at best for ages

My knife sharpener arrived Friday (sooner than expected) and I was curious to try it right away. I used it on a vegetable knife that has been dull at best for ages. It worked so quickly and effortlessly that I ended up using it on all of my knives right away. Specifically, I wanted to see if it would work on my serrated knives and it did a beautiful job! I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

One of the knives was extremely cheap while the rest were originally awesome but with time they became hard to work with

I just got the sharpener tonight and put it to work on 6 blades that needed serious help. One of the knives was extremely cheap while the rest were originally awesome but with time they became hard to work with. Using the sharpener was extremely easy and the results were exceptional. Each knife now cuts at least as well as it did originally and it took no more than a minute per knife to get them back in shape. I have had an electric sharpener in the past and have to say that this did a much better job and was just as fast. I highly recommend the product.

Quickly sharpened our stainless steel knives

My wife has complained about her dull stainless steel knives enough to set me about to look for a sharpener for them. I've had a couple in the past that just didn't do the trick, so I was pretty jaded about finding anything that would work without costing an arm and a leg. I decided to try this one and hope for the best. Shortly after it arrived I thought I'd try it out and surprise my wife if it worked. It actually surprised me at how quickly I was able to get a nice sharp edge using only the fine sharpener. I used the coarse sharpener on only one knife that was a mess, but then only used a few strokes before going to the fine sharpener. Within ten minutes I had most of her knives sharpened. When my wife checked them out I became her hero (for about five minutes). I have no idea how long the sharpener will last or how many blades it will sharpen, but for now I would consider this a great buy.

This sharpener does a very good job. But, each sharpener may have a different angle or pitch to slant of the cutting edge. So you need to first use the roughing slot to get the angle right, then slide your knife through the fine slot. But be very sure you keep the knife steady, as best you can at a true vertical angle. I also use back and forth motions to get the job done faster. You may not be able to shave a beard with the help of this sharpener. Good knife blades are always thin. Avoid thick ones. Thin blades are made of harder steel which keep the edge longer than softer steel. But they can cost a lot more. The hardest steel I have is called high speed steel which is what my lathe tools are made of. These cost on average $25.00 each, decades ago and are made in England. Carbon steel is soft, and avoid it.

Very pleased with this sharpener

The first thing I did was sharpen all my knives. It did a great job. I noticed that the course side is very powerful and will easily remove metal shavings from the knife edge when pressure is applied while pulling a knife through the slot. Accordingly, I suggest caution when using this side. Easy on the downward pressure. I suspect that it is not necessary to use "course" each time. This is not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. Certainly a great feature when sharpening dull knives but should be used sparingly on reasonably sharp knives. Now that all my knives are quite sharp, I plan on mostly using the "fine" side for most of my resharpening.

Sharp edge, easy to draw, without errors on edge angle from hand-honing.

Arrived quickly and on time, as I am getting to expect from Amazon and partners. Not sure why but I think I was expecting something a little more flimsy or poorly finished or whatever, just lower quality appearance...not so, finish is clean, like something you would not be embarrassed to leave on the counter. I tried with a stainless knife we have had for years, barely even useful any more and has not been taking or holding any edge at all, really not even safe it has become so dull. Used the suggested swipes, easy and I could feel the bite and cut of the edge. Could feel each swipe getting smoother and burrs getting taken away. Produced a sharp clean edge which I only finished with a hone to a smooth edge that now cuts like new. Totally pleased.

Time & Effort Saver!!

I am very please that the sharpener made quick work of sharpening our 25 knives of varying styles. It will be very easy to sharpen knives prior to or after use as butchers do to keep them always ready for the task. The sharpener looked large by the picture, it is very manageable and compact. I have some expensive sharpeners that don't provide this quality of sharpness unless considerable time is used to accomplish the task. The price is fabulous for the time that has been and will be saved, not to mention the pleasure of getting clean and easy cuts.
