Customer Service
First, for the money this is a great little ball head. It's smooth. Locks down securely and will hold a Canon 5D3 w/a 70-300 telephoto lens (together about 9 pounds) while on a star tracker following the Milky Way. Second, it arrived and I checked everything out. All was fine except the little bubble ball level on the base was terribly off. The level on the ball was dead on. In the box was a note stating that if there are any problems email them first. I did send en email and said that it wasn't a big deal, the unit would fit my needs. But, if you cannot get the bubble level right why even put it on the unit. I didn't ask for anything. The next day I had an apology email asking for my Amazon order number and my home address. They were replacing it. After I made sure who I was sending the info to I replied. 4 days later I had a replacement ball head with accurate levels. Actually I have two ball heads as the never asked for the other one back. Without customer service it's a 4 star head. The customer service gave them another star.

IT WILL HOLD A HEAVY DSLR/ADAPTABLE
Neewer keeps making really solid gear. I was looking to add a solid ball head to my Amazon Basics Monopod. I wanted the build wuality to be solid and the knobs strong. This is a great and solidly built ball head. Neewer makes a great product and this is one of them. What is really cool also, is that you can change the top quick release plate with the larger professional Neewer/Manfrotto-type plate. With an Allen Wrench and a lot of pressure you’ll here the screw crack and open. You can place your larger DSLR’s on this ball head with a heavy lens and the two knobs will lock it securely. The ability to pan is also nice. UPDATE: I tried to use a cheaper Neewer Ball head. Get this one. Best one I’ve come across. Hands down. Seriously, pay more for this one. It locks down tight. The other ones don’t. I tried.

Amazing value for money
As everyone else says - amazing value for money. I wasn't expecting too much considering the price, I only decided to give it a try when I saw it on Lightning Deals. At first I thought it would be made of plastic, but to my surprise, this is made of anyting but plastic. Definitely made of metal, very very solid. I put my DSLR on and the head holds it quite steady and the ball joint can still move smoothly. Great deal!

Perfect for my needs.. and YOURS.
Mounted this to a ground pod I picked up for low angle bird photography. Cheap, effective and just as advertised. Good score! UPDATE: I've used this ball head for a while now. I liked it so much on my ground pod, that I purchased another one for my monopod. I really do not understand some of the less-than-positive reviews for this thing, especially where people simply can't figure out how to use really simple gear. First of all, it holds my full-size DSLR, battery grip and Sigma 150-500mm lens (~8 pounds, all in), with NO trouble or movement, at all. Second, yes, there are TWO knobs to tighten the ball; lock them both down tight and then use whichever one you're comfortable with to loosen the ball when you need to rotate the camera. Simple. Third, some people have complained about the 1/4" mounting hole on the bottom, claiming that it doesn't fit a 3/8" tripod mount. Seriously? It has a 3/8"-to1/4" bushing in there! It has slots in it for removal/installation, which are plainly obvious if you just look at it; use a large, flat head screwdriver (or better yet, a precision needle nose pliers) to unscrew it out, and... PRESTO!... you've got your 3/8" mounting hole, right there. I removed mine and mounted it to MULTIPLE tripods and monopods; it's a no brainer. Would I use this to hold a monster prime lens/full frame DSLR/battery grip combination? No, but if you're trusting $10K worth of gear to a $28 tripod head, you're in the wrong end of the pool. For the vast majority of amateur, hobbyist photographers, even at an advanced level, this is an awesome piece. Get over your gear envy and buy it. Figure out how it works and go enjoy yourself, already. Five stars, man.

Nice Ball Head
I'm very happy with the quality of this tripod head. Everything feels tight and smooth and I haven't had any issues over the last few months of using it. So far I've been very impressed with the quality of the products I've gotten from Neewer.

This Ball head will handle a just about any lens and camera body combo
This thing is sturdy, and strong. It feels good in the hand, (the rubber pegs). The pan has a slight glitch in it, which is why almost gave it a the 4 stars. I am complicating on returning mine because the travel tripod I purchased came with a lighter smaller version of this. I want to keep it sooooooo bad though. It's nicer than the one that came with mine. and it has the rubber handles.

Sturdy ball head for tripods, quick release plate
This is a high quality tripod ball head with a quick release plate that fits Arca Swiss plates. That means that you can use compatible camera L-brackets to really have a slick setup for quick and easy changes from vertical to horizontal shooting. This can also be used as a drag head for video, since there is an adjustment screw for how much resistance to movement there is in left-right pans. Overall this is a fantastic bargain for a nice aluminum, all metal ball head. [Neewer Professional Metal 360 Degree Rotating Panoramic Ball Head with 1/4 inch Quick Release Plate] I bought this at normal Amazon prices without manufacturer discount or endorsement fee for this review.

Very nice lighter duty mount. Well worth the cost.
This is a well made head. It has very fluid movement and positive locking. When you set the camera where you want it you can rest assured it is going to stay put. The fit and finish are very clean. The one criticism I have is the 3/8 threads to connect it to the tripod. On the head I received the threads were a sloppy fit. While it tightened down with no problem I do question the longevity if this mount is used consistently with heavy equipment. Not a problem for me as it’s paired with a DSLR and a short zoom lens. I would hesitate to use it with my Toyoview 4x5 even though it is within the weight limit.

Great Value
For the price it's an excellent buy. Ball head locks in with confidence and has a smooth operation. I don't love that the opposing heads both lock the ball and have the exact same size. Typically with 2 locks 1 is used for tension and the other to lock. You can use these in that capacity, but you will likely confuse yourself on which one you are using for what.

Very nice ball joint - works well & does everything I ...
Very nice ball joint - works well & does everything I expected. I would note that my unit has a 1/4", not 3/8", mounting thread on the bottom to attach to the tripod. My tripod has provision for both, so it isn't an issue. The smaller ball head I replaced has a 3/8" mount, and with a bigger camera (I have Nikod D5300) you might want the 3/8" mount. Panning action is very smooth and ball adjustment is solid. Very nice unit at a good price.
