Definitely a "step up"
I've alway bought good (but not great) cooking wear, like Calphalon and Anolon. Never disappointed in any of them, but I can definitely tell this is a step up. Great heat distribution. Easy clean up. The chef's pan (regardless of make) is my most used piece of cookware. The only drawback I can think of is, with better quality cookware comes more weight. You'll know if that's a concern.
