This is a great valve. Easy to install, easy to adjust. However, it has a design issue that could be a problem for you. The valve needs to see a differential pressure between the supply side and the output side for the solenoid to function properly. If the irrigation line has very little flow, like, just a few drippers, the valve may not turn off. With larger flow rates, the valve operates perfectly. If your water supply is dirty or sandy, you may need to put a pre-filter in front of the valve, because it won’t tolerate much debris in the valve feed chamber before it fails to operate and requires cleaning.

I ordered 3 of these in my recent order and only installed 2 as replacements of older Orbit irrigation valves that had "WaterMaster" logo molded into the top section. They are very easy to install and worked perfectly right away with no leaks at all. Other reviewers have reported cracks in the castings and water leaks, but that was not my experience. I have used Orbit valves now for many years, and they last for quite a while. This newer version has a 6 year warranty, and I believe the older versions had only a 3 year warranty. I originally used Lawn Genie branded valves, and they did not last too long, but if my memory serves me, I think that was maybe 30 years ago. These Orbits are much better than the (OLD) Lawn Genies. Price was right at Amazon, and got Prime next day delivery shipped free. What a deal!

Orbit makes the best valves. Just be sure they are not mounted above ground where the sunlight can shine on them. I bury mine about 3 inches below ground and wrap them in plastic. Have replaced 1 in 15 years. I have 5 of them. I could have saved the bad one it I had known to unscrew the solenoid assembly and put a little 3 in 1 oil on the plunger. Not being used in the winter will make them stick. My first instillation I mounted them on a header assembly above ground and i was always replacing them or rebuilding them. I believe the sunlight, heat and cold causes then to malfunction.

This was easy to install and functions well. One needs to watch it though to make sure to use the right fittings with the right 3/4" NPT thread type (not the garden hose connection thread type) to ensure not to damage the threads or crack the housing. To ensure the valve lasts, I have covered it inside a box and thus protected the valve from the weather. Overall, I am happy that the valve, as I use this for my AC sprinkler system that only turns on when the AC is activated.

I use these for all kinds of irrigation needs. Most of the time, these solenoids are installed above ground, protected only with simple hoods. Quick, reliable, and flexible. I gave it a low rating for "sheerness" because I have no idea what "sheerness" is when it comes to valves. Kinda stupid, don't you think?

Great, quality product. I’m confident it’s legitimate orbit product and it took me under 5 minutes to swap out with the old one that cracked and broke when we had an unexpected freeze which almost never happens. I will be purchasing from vender again!

These are made to be cheap and reliable. I think they succeeded. No issues with the one I use on my irrigation system. It makes a little humming noise that other types I have used do not make, but it works fine. Well worth the price.

Use it for a rocket launcher valve for my science classroom. Works SUPER!!! High recommend. Power the valve with a simple 9volt battery. Will likely buy again as I build more launchers for the kids.

I purchased this to add a master valve on my irrigation system. Installation was easy (must have basic plumbing skills) as well as connection into my existing controller. The valve works as expected and provides another layer of safety if one of my zone valves fails open.

Make sure you set up your sprinkler box so that you can uninstall/replace valves easily. These are heavy duty and a great value. They are just tricky to remove if you dont have at least one double union.
