Well worth the money.

So, I had my doubts about this. Part of me thought I should go the hardware store, buy some ihooks to put into the ceiling, buy some extending dog leashes and do my best. I took a bit of a chance with this, but at the price point it was worth a shot. And I don't regret it one bit. It arrived in a timely fashion and it only took about 10 minutes of planning to figure out how I wanted to do it (hint: start at where you will be using the headset, not at the connector end). I put three up, adjusted with another couple to handle the excess wire. Full disclosure, my space isn't that large, the ceiling is a bit lower than I would like, but this has immensely helped my VR experience. Initially I had my doubts about the pull strength. They seemed a bit flimsy, the pull weight wasn't that substantial. But keep in mind each one is not designed to hold the entire weight of the headset wire. When I had 3 up, none of them even extended at all unless I pulled on them. If you are using all 6 then they can more than hold the weight of the wire. Also though, I put one right behind me hanging from the ceiling with just a little slack, but I can move freely around my small area, I can't even feel the pull weight of one of the hooks. But when I return to center it pulls the cord right up. I don't know how permanent this is intended to be, but I don't see a reason to do anything else unless this all of the suddenly fails. I would say it's well worth the money, and the setup was quick and as easy as it could be.

Really useful

I was unsure if the sticky pads provided would hold it up well but after having it installed for over a year now its worked really well and not a single pad/hook has fallen down. Its really helped with cable management and I would recommend this to anyone who is tired of walking over the headset cable.

Great System

This is for the type H version. Please stop reviewing this product in regard to the shortcomings of the Vive cable. A tangled cable is NOT the fault of this product but the Hive design. This product makes it tons better but no product can change the Hive design... At least in this price range. Lol What a game changer! Having the wire overhead is so much easier with this setup. I have a low ceiling so I did not need all the hooks but it's nice to have backup. Before I was hesitant to fire up my Vive because it was a hassle to untangle all the cords and wires but now I can play for 5 mins or an hour and it's so simple. When finished playing, I just leave the cord hanging overhead and put the headset on a side shelf but if you don't like the look of overhead wires lol, it unclips in a second or two for hidden storage. I don't know how many times I've had to stop playing to untangle the cord but no more! If I had one tiny criticism it would be a lack of instructions. I had to look at the picture online to see how to set it up but to be fair it's pretty simple and I could have figured it out on my own. Thanks for offering this product!

Definitely the way to go until we have reliable wireless

I highly recommend suspending the cable from the ceiling. I did it different than the picture though and suspended the entire Vive Pro cable above my head. In the picture, it appears like you'd bump into it, which would be distracting. My setup works great, although in Skyrim VR, I have to periodically untwist the cable because I tend to turn in the same direction too much. It's a small price to pay. Note: I screwed anchors into my drywall ceiling with my own parts. I think this kit comes with adhesives, but I doubt that would stay on.

I have to say it's a pretty good set

I have to say it's a pretty good set. Before I installed it, others often complained that they get tangled in a cable in a middle of the game. With the cable being out of the way, you can have more enjoyable play time. Initially I had my reservations about the hooks with adhesive plates, but to my surprise they hold very well to the drop ceiling, and are not very visible. The retractable devices work very well, and do not restrict movement or create a feeling of your head being "tugged". To make the setup more reliable, I put clips on the cable behind each retractable, so the assembly uses retractable devices instead of feeding more cable through it.

Excellent product: Be careful of how you install the prevent cable damage!

First of all, this system works great and really does make the vast majority of VR games simpler to play, without worrying about tripping over the cable. It is fairly tricky to get installed just right to your liking, though, and kind of annoying for games where you hold your wands up above your head a lot (Climbey, Windlands, even Gorn if you get swinging like mad). Also be careful installing it: When I installed the kit I had a fair amount of strain on the cable where the winches pulled the cable against a velcro tie that I used on the headset strap itself. This actually caused the 3-in-1 cable to wear out and I had to get a replacement. This isn't the products fault, I just installed it in a bad way, but definitely be conscious of avoiding strain on the cable so you don't have to buy a replacement!

Re positioning

Hooks on the ceiling are OK while the main tether system is also not that good and not that bad. Planning is required before applying to ceiling and if your plan doesn't work, be prepared to have the hooks fall off the ceiling at some time. EDIT: After some talk with the owner, they sent me a new pack absolutely free of charge. Now I won't be so clumsy when hanging these things.

Excellent product and makes VR cable management a dream. No more getting tangled in a cable! Quality of this product is good, plenty of included pulleys and double-sided adhesive to get a setup that works for your room.

This is the best cable management possible until the wireless versions come out. There were more than enough to hook my oculus rift up to the ceiling, I only used four and i dont even feel the wires sometimes! Thank you for creating this great product, it's a must have for any high-end wired headsets.

NEW Retractable Cable Management is really great

This is a little confusing as there are several products here, but the NEW version Retractable Cable Management System is really great! Before I got this people were constantly getting spun up in the cord and now it is up and out of the way. Works remarkably well for how affordable it is. The whole kit is 6 sticky hooks that hold very well and 6 mini retractable pulleys that clip up the cable. The sticky hooks seem to be sticking very well and I was actually able to use the extra two pulleys off of one sticky hook to hold the headset while not in use (If you do this be careful it doesn't fall, I put a pile of pillows under mine until I was sure it would hold). The pulleys add some tension when moving around, but does allow a fairly large range of movement in my relatively small area (5'x7'). For a bigger area, it is possible it might not work as well. You could probably acquire all the pieces to build the kit yourself as there is nothing really custom here, but it is very convenient that it is all packaged as one unit. I am actually getting a second kit to hold up the two charging controllers and my headphones when not in use.
