This works for the four headset cables I've tried it on.
Although most computers have 4-pole inputs on the front (headset with mike) they don't always work correctly. I have about 6 of these adapters and they have worked on every headset I've tried. The key component is the 4-pole female jack, and it appears to be more standard that some of the computers I've tested (standard 4-pole headset won't work on some computers, but this adapter splits the microphone from the output and always works.) This tells me the adapter is more standard than some of the headset inputs on computers. Sturdy, woven cable-- short enough not to get in the way. Perfect.

Worked great for Turtle Beach headset
I have two pairs of turtle beach headsets for Xbox one, xo3 and xo4 are the models; I wanted to use these headers for pc gaming and this headset splitter works perfectly. - Does not swap L/R stereo channels - securely snaps in place, won't slip out - doesn't degrade audio or mic audio - braided fabric cord, long lasting

Solved my desktop problem
I had purchased stereo headphones with a microphone to use on my desktop computer, but the headphones/microphone device had only one plug for both functions. Unfortunately my desktop (unlike most laptops, etc.) required two inputs, one for the mike and one for the stereo headphones. This adapter fixed my problem, and now I can listen and speak while using my German Language lessons.

I've tried other headset splitters before and they eventually wear down - These are the real deal, here!
I have never had a headset splitter this stable and reliable. I purchased two of these to use with my

Exactly what I needed.
I use this daily to connect my Bose headset to my Windows PC. It does what it says it does. The cables appear to be well strain-relieved and are quite flexible. I should check to see if they offer an extension cable. You may not need this with some laptops or PCs, if they have a headset input. My PCs do not. I bought two, so I could have one permanently connected both at work and at home. BTW, this was the second company's adaptor I purchased. The first one didn't work for either input or output audio. This one did.

Good product
if you have 3.5mm headphones (with a microphone integrated with headset) and you want to connect to PC that has a separate microphone and audio ports...then this is the adapter for you. I have a cheap gaming headset that I use with PS4 and PC, but was having issues connecting to the PC since the headset only has 1 3.5mm output. This adapter took care of all the issues because it splits the audio and microphone signals of the headset.

Works Exactly As I Had Hoped
Just got my adapter in the mail today, plugged it in to my laptop jacks, plugged my Kotion G2000 headset in to the adapter, pulled up Sound Recorder, blabbered something in to the mic, played it back...it sounds great! The adapter works perfectly for the headset I ordered it for, and there's no distortion, no metallic sound to the voice, no buzzing, no hissing. Also, this came 3 days earlier than I was originally quoted when I ordered so I'm very happy about that.

Works as Intended
The braided cables and rugged design is definitely a nice touch. Be sure to look into your device's recording settings and adjust your microphone's volume level to ensure that your headphones are working as intended.

Skype on a laptop? This "fixes" your phone's headset!
I have a few corded & cordless headsets/earbuds I use with my cell phone. But using any of those with my company laptop for those Skype conference calls is generally not possible due to the two connectors on those machines. And even though I have Bluetooth & USB headsets, too, my laptop frequently is also too stupid to put those to use for Skype. yes, I can fight the computer's config to overcome that, but why? It's way too repetitive. This thing makes it pretty mindless to use the usual corded earbuds I use a lot anyway. Trouble avoided!

3.5 Mic and Stereo plug split to 3.5 Stereo and Mic separate
Wanted a basic but decent headphone set. They came with the newer Apple type plug that has the stereo and mic in the same 3.5mm plug with extra connection. This item. Splits the signal.Cannot stop the signal Mal. Update: Second Headset Splitter bought from this seller. This one is a gift addon for the same type headphones I bought the first one for. Both work good.
