Review From College Student With MacBook

The things you should look for in a product are usefulness, transportability, durability, and necessity. You want a product that you will actually use first and foremost. What good is it if it is never being used. Secondly you will want a product that will not break right away and will be useful for at the very least a year. Third, you do not want a product that is a pain to lug around. Finally, do you absolutely need this product. As a college student with a MacBook, this product is very helpful and useful to use. Do to the product being without ports to reduce the size of the laptop this product comes in clutch. Whether that is with a USB drive, mouse, or phone charger there will always be a reason to use this product. You will not have any issues with this USB-C it is really small and easy to transport with my laptop and fits perfectly inside its case. It is small enough it does not become an eye sore while you are using your laptop. It even allows you to still charge your laptop while it is in use. You will most likely have the same experience using this product. I have had this product for 3 months now and have had no issues with its durability. There are no frayed wires happening and the exterior is showing no signs of wear and tear. It is not made cheaply like some other products. The price point on this product is perfectly in reason for how valuable this USB-C is to your needs as a student. It is in a nice range and fits into a budget, if cost is a concerning factor to you. The only negative I see for this product is the cord length; it would be perfect if the cord had an extra inch on it. It would be nice to have a little more wrist woom so yo do not have all those cords all bunch up together. Hopefully, you found this review helpful to making your selection.

Perfect if you only have USB 3.0 & USB-C, but still need USB 2.0

I needed to update software on a device that specifically says it only works with USB 2.0. However, my computer is only equipped with USB 3.0 and USB-C. I purchased this hub exactly for this purpose and it worked perfectly without any issues. I hooked the hub up into my computer’s USB-C and then connected the device I needed to update to the hub’s USB 2.0 and everything did what it was supposed to do. Problem solved.

Good Product, and Great Service

Works great for my LG G6! I find it really helpful to have usb ports handy for file transfer when I'm on the go. Someone was also very kind in reaching out to me about a rebate that was on offer from the company that I was unaware of, which is exemplary customer service in my book. Would highly recommend Lention voing forward : )

Convenient and sleek

This 4 in 1 USBC hub allows me to continue using all the peripherals that require older style connectivity even though my computer has the new USBC port. It has a short cord that doesn't get in the way, and the ports are exactly what I need. The unit feels solid, steady, and efficient. There is another model that has a card reading slot for those who want that, but this model is right for me. I haven't had it long enough to say whether it is durable, but it seems like it will be.

[UPDATED] stopped working after 8 months

I did have trouble with this adapter but Lention was more than willing to help me troubleshoot the problem! And when there was no immediate solution, they offered to send me a new one to try out to see if it was just a manufacturing issue. I am so happy they were available and willing to help find a solution. It is really the only adapter I use so I am hoping it all works out! I bought this adapter at the beginning of 2018 and it work really well! My phone, camera, and hard drive all did well with all the ports. But within the last week, it completely stopped conncecting with my camera and hardrive... it was exactly what I needed in an adapter and I’m sad it just died on me. What happened lention?

Very pleased.

I bought the Space Gray model and it perfectly matches my Wife's MacBook. The cord is a nice length which allows the unit to be placed behind the computer. Happy the three ports are USB-3 and has a pass-through USB-C so we can be charging the computer at the same time. Data transfer of 16GB file to a USB-3 thumb drive showed no loss of speed. Great for attaching a full size keyboard and mouse when needed.

Update Review. Received a replacement for free and it works perfect. Not sure if I just received a bad one the first time or wtv but this new one works great. The reason why I'm giving this a 5 star is because they reached out to me after I had trouble with the first one and asked if they could replace it free of charge. They didn't have to go out of their way but they did and I appreciate that a lot. It does what its suppose to do and its not over priced like most of the other adapters on here. Definitely worth getting.

Complete Functionality of the Lention Adaptor

I initially had some problems with the adaptor. Most of which were generated by my lack of understanding of the USB “C” connector on the adaptor and its capabilities. Namely, it would not take the power necessary to charge my Apple laptop. Lention was kind enough to send me a replacement adaptor. The replacement adaptor solved the problem. I am using a MacBook Pro (13-inch 2016) and power source that came with the laptop. Putting power connection directly into the type “C” input on the adaptor and then plugging the adaptor via its type “C” connector into my computer and now the laptop sees a connection with the power source and charges normally. The Apple power source I believe is 60 W. So, I replaced the 60 W source with a 30 W source just see if there were any issues with the lower power. There were no issues, again the laptop charged normally. Additionally, the type “C” connection works fine in the pass- through mode. The adaptor that I am using does not have an ethernet port. Just as a check I connected the my ethernet source (also a Type “C” connector) into the Lintion and then to my laptop and the ethernet functionality is identical to how I normally run the system. Finally, I was able to take advantage of a unique aspect of the adaptor namely two different type of USB “B” connections. The mouse I was using wanted the USB type 2 connection whereas most of the common adaptors only have the USB type 3 adaptor. In any event I find the adaptor very useful for my office configuration. I can recommend the Lention adaptor to anyone.

This dongle is a really worthwhile investment... ...

This dongle is a really worthwhile investment...It is very simple to use. And it can be used with any case for you laptop...unlike some dongals that sit flush again the laptop when installed and require that you take over the bottom protector portion of the case when installing it onto the mac book pro.

Great customer service

I've had this almost a year now and don't use it very much. One I first got it, I checked it and worked as it should. But it would not recognize when I tried to plug my phone into it. Everything thing else was fine. I would say in the time I have had it, I have used it 5x and just recently I tried to use it and the computer would recognize that I had it plugged in. Not sure why. Would not recommend purchasing, does not seem to last. This is a revision to the precious post. Lention reached out to me after my review and helped me troubleshoot the problem and issued a replacement. The replacement arrived and it worked right out of the box like the first one I had received, I will try to make an effort to use this one more to see what the durability is. Regardless if there are any issues, Lention firmly stands behind their product. You can buy with confidence with Amazon and Lention. I would pick Lention over another brand in the future because of their stellar customer service
