So far so good. After I installed this, I was getting only half the speed I used to get with my 8x4 SB6141. Almost sent it back but gave it a long shot and called ComCast. They tweaked some setting on their end,. and now I get the speed I expected. I have the 250Mb speed tier, I now routinely measure 220mbps with speakeasy. Just be aware, that a service call will probably be needed to get full speed. The SB I had was maxing out at 150Mbps,and it was flagged as "unsupported" for my speed tier recently. Comcast is pushing a fairly recent firmware for the new Netgear CM700-s, something newer than the competing ISP-s, so that is good. I figured there was no point paying double for a new Docsis 3.1 modem, I think I put that update off until someone provides gigabit range service in my area, let the prices of Docsis 3.1 come down, and the hardware mature. The point is, that this modem has 32 download channels, and 8 upload, so it seemed fast enough for the immediate future.

I bought one of these since Comcast was asking me to upgrade the current modem I had and keep charging me for it. I decided since I needed to upgrade anyway I would get my own. It was easy to setup. Once it booted it took me right to an activation page. It took two tries to activate but it was very quick to do. I speed tested right before I disconnected the old modem and was getting about 140Mbps. After switching I speed tested again and was getting about 240Mbps. I was paying for 100Mbps service but they recently said they upgraded in my area to 200Mbps service for the same cost. I'm very happy with this modem and it will save me $10 per month.

My boyfriend and I purchased this in a combo with "Netgear (R7000-100PAS) Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Router". We've been using it for a few weeks now and I must say, we are BOTH happy campers!! My boyfriend and I are both video gamers, not heavy into it but at least enough where we play a couple hours a night on our computers or on our separate X-Box's. We had a modem given to us by our internet provider (Timewarner/Spectrum) that we'd been using for at least two years, but we were having troubles with the internet being slow, even after repeated calls to Spectrum. Figuring our modem had just finally crapped out, we went to walmart and purchased an Arris surfboard and if anything, that made the problem worse to the point where I couldn't even look at Facebook videos on my phone while my boyfriend was playing on his computer. My phone constantly kicked me off the internet, and if I tried the xbox while he was on the computer, it would kick us BOTH off mulitple times. Again, endless calls to our internet provider, tried switching modems, nothing worked. Finally as a last ditch effort, we decided to go big or go home and purchased this and the "Netgear (R7000-100PAS) Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Router", as I stated earlier. No longer do we get kicked! In fact, it improved our internet speeds! I'm not a tech person, not with modems and routers and stuff like that so maybe we really didn't need to buy this but I can tell you that I'm glad we did. Would I recommend it to someone? You bet I would! I wish I could give it more than five stars. My boyfriend and I are both extremely happy with this purchase!

I've read many reviews about the Netgear CM700 and the potential issues with the Intel Puma 6 chipset. Many online reviews of this cable modem indicate that there are issues with drop outs and jitter. I called Netgear Tech support and was told that those issues have been resolved through firmware updates and are are no longer valid. I purchased the Netgear CM700 cable modem and I will tell you...it's great. Don't be put off by online reviews that are 1-2 years old. 15-June-2018 Our internet browsing experience started getting slower and I started thinking it was the cable modem. After researching, I found that one of the biggest issues for latency and slow web browsing was due to the default DNS server provided by my ISP. I changed our DNS server settings to Google Public DNS and the difference is like night and day. Even though an internet speed test may show similar results, using Google Public DNS settings made surfing the web snappier with almost instantaneous loads of websites. Still very happy with the Netgear CM700 that has the Puma 6 chipset.

This modem really packs it all in with a huge punch. It is much better than anything your provider will offer you. My only complaint is the lack of firmware updates released by Spectrum Time Warner on it at the moment. Other than that which is out of Net gears hands, it is a great product. The up and down channels are always great for me! House of 6 with lots of devices and the up and downs fulfill all our huge streaming needs with the internet package we have and the modem allows us the number of up and down channels we pay for unlike many provider modems that actually don't always offer you all the up and downs you're paying for :) seamless connection. Just make sure you also have an up to date wireless router in addition or you won't benefit from the increase in up and down channel availability and true internal power of this super beast!

This is a marvelous, fast, easy to set up modem. The 32 channels maintain high download speeds even during the busiest times of day. I have not noticed any of the poor performance issues others have complained about due to the notorious Intel processor. Hopefully it stays that way. On the contrary, in bridge mode I typically receive 25 to 50+ mbps faster download speeds than the 200 mbps service that I am paying for. The modem is lighter in weight than I would prefer, but no biggie. The front panel LEDs are muted and not at all too bright even at night which is great. So many companies use blindingly bright LEDs, but these are perfect. The modem is warm to the touch at the top, but not hot. The push button on/off switch is a nice quality feature too.

My tech guy said the Netgear modems and routers are the best, so I upgraded my one 1 year old cable modem / wireless router to the Netgear CM700 and Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Router. Now I have blazing internet speed and can watch movies without buffering; plus my mobile devices work everywhere in the house!

This only took a couple minutes to install. The Comcast Xfinity internet tech support guy was able to register it fast with no problem. It was up and running in minutes; the tech support guy was amazed that it was working instantly; they usually need to tell people to wait an hour or so. I paired this with NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1750 Smart Dual Band WiFi Router (R6700) and was up and running in minutes. I ran a speed test. With the old Comcast Xfinity equipment, we were averaging dowload speeds of about 50- 53. After I installed this modem and router combo, the speed test was 87, so everything is streaming better. The laptop is blazing fast too. I was apprehensive about doing this myself, but it was so fast and easy with absolutely no problems.

A bit pricey but should be good to go for the next 5 years or so! Replaced a legacy "zoom" as it was reaching EOL via Comcast/Infinity. I had no difficulty registering it online via "CHAT" at comcast. sent in MAC & S/N and about 10 minutes later we had a connect. We support separate modem & wireless router (also Netgear) due to Negear's router range. We also connect to the router via CAT5. Remember to turn your router OFF though prior to contacting them. Once you see all 4 top lights solid (should be green) and the bottom one at least ON or blinking, THEN turn your router ON. you should then be able to ping "comcast.net" once the router obtains the new IP (which takes a coupla minutes for this router). Finally I want to mention to ALWAYS change the default PW on your router!

I recently upgraded my XFinity internet service. I was supposed to get 200mbs but was only getting 70mbs. Called support, after an hour on the phone no joy and I was getting very frustrated. I did some reading and found out that not all DOCSIS 3.0 modems are the same. They might meet the standard but some have more channels than others. I found out that my Motorola modem only had 8 down channels which has a theoretical max of 100mbs. The CM700 has 32 down channels which gives it a theoretical max of almost a gigabit. I bought the CM700, had to deal with XFinity support again to get it registered and I was relieved to see 230mbs down, 12mbs up. Not too shabby!
