This cable lock is easy to use and setup with a four digit combination of your choice – opening and locking your laptop is very simple, just be sure to secure it to something stationary so a thief can’t walk off with your laptop!

Before I purchased this security lock cable, I was concerned if it would fit my ASUS laptops. I asked the question and to my disappointment the response from the manufacturer said NO. But I took risk to order it anyway. I desperately need a lock cable for my son to use in his college dorm. I thought it would be just an investment for no much money anyway if it doesn't fit the laptop. I was so pleased when the order arrived, I tested it on both of our ASUS laptops and it perfectly worked. I don't know how strong or durable the cable is. But the lock looks very easy to manipulate and fit in the lock slot perfectly. I'm happy. Now I'm gonna order another one.

These locks are easy to use. I was able to follow the simple instructions to reset the code and they did just what I needed them to do, protect my laptop and monitor while presenting at a conference.

Does exactly what I need it to, secure my laptop at work so that the HSE and IT people don't find it unsecured and then send a flurry of emails about how I put our company and most of the free world at extreme risk. You'd think that Julian Assange was lurking around every corner. Anyway, it's good quality, had held up well, isn't bulky and a pain in the butt to carry around, and it keeps people from stealing the secrets of the free world.

The lock itself is standard. Cable thickness is average. Scissors won't cut it, but a determined thief will probably have a pair of dikes or other cutting style tool with them. Laptop locks are deterrents, not foolproof protection. If you are that worried about your laptop being stolen, just carry it with you. In a normal area where you won't be leaving it for days on end, I'd get this lock. Easy to use, easy deterrent, and makes me feel just that much safer leaving my laptop tethered to the desk. Quality is great but it doesn’t fit the DELL Inspiron 17, 7000 series laptop.

The only problem I had was that the first time I pushed in the reset button, it got off-center and was stuck too far down inside the lock. Once I realized that though, it was easy enough to get it back in place, and then just push a little more gently for the reset. It's a great length, enough to find something permanent to which you can attach it. They included three differently sized spacers, apparently for different models that may have differently sized locks, but I didn't need them. Seems very sturdy, and easy to use. FWIW, what I didn't understand about this as a combination lock was, what prevents someone else from pushing in the reset button to clear the passcode? It's because you must have it set to the passcode before you can push in the reset button. So if you don't know the passcode, even if it's your own lock, there's no clear way to reset it.

This fit my HP Pavilion laptop perfectly and the instructions to set up the 4 digit combination lock were very easy to follow. If you use your computer in a public place like a library or coffee shop you naturally don't want to have to pack it all up when you need to leave for a few minutes to use the restroom or retrieve a book. This combination lock with a very long cable is perfect for situations like that. Or maybe you have a dicey roommate or two that you might not trust with keeping valuables like your laptop just laying around unsecured; this would work great for that as well. All you have to do is attach the lock to a little opening that most or all computers have on the side and then loop the other end of the cable around something that a person can't walk away with. In a public place that could be a bit tricky - maybe the back of a chair? I mean it's not likely someone would walk out of a library or coffee shop holding a chair. On the other hand if you were to loop the cable around a table leg then a thief could just lift up one end of the table and steal your laptop. In your home you could loop the cable around a part of the bed frame, for example. Of course if someone really wanted to steal your computer they could eventually cut through this cable with a strong cord cutter but that would take a little time. If you're using this in a public place and you just need to use the restroom then this lock would be ideal as you'd only be away from your laptop for a few minutes. It's worth the purchase for some peace of mind.

Great locks that fit great! They also come with some nice nylon washers to protect the finish of whatever device you are connecting them to. I would defintely buy again, this is the best bargan k-lock I have come across in years! Cheap ones have a tendency of fitting very poorly, this one however is easy to set the code and fits well in all of the devices I have tried it with.

Major upgrade over my old combo computer cable, although it is not quite as long as I expected (mine measures 6'). The locking piece connecting to the cable has a flexible hinge, making it much easier to install the lock and get maximum stretch out of the cable. The cable itself is more flexible than my old cable locks and appears strong or stronger. Will definitely deter anyone from a 'snatch and grab" as you'd need substantial wire cutters to clip the cable. Setting the combination was easy (instructions included). Only complaints are minor: 1) It's hard to read the numbers (very shiny metal around the numbers reflect direct light). Would be nice if numbers were painted in a bright color so easier to read. 2) The alignment row is not outlined or indicated on the face of the barrel, so could inadvertently align the numbers on the reverse side and struggle to get it open (or worse set it to the wrong combination). Would be nice to have an arrow on the face of the lock pointing to the alignment row or an overlay highlighting the row.

I bought this because of the good reviews, and because it was a key lock instead of a number lock. I've watched a few videos on some of the other brand locks that have a dial, and they are really easy to pick. So, I bought this lock instead. It was a dollar more than the equivalent number lock, so its not breaking the bank. One note. The laptop cable has a loop on one end, so you need to loop it around something solid. A chair leg isn't a solid fixture, nor is a desk leg. So, pick wisely. 2 keys included.
