Ridiculously sharp!

This thing is great! Nice field of view, great focus range and razor sharp image. They're really solid feeling and I feel kind of dumb saying it, but a really great color. The supplied case is nothing to write home about, but it's functional. If I had to come up with a complaint I'd snark about how the mini tripod is stored with the monocular and might rub or scratch the it; I don't plan to carry it anyway. I got the 10x50 as I understand the 12x to need a very steady hand and as I use them on a boat that wasn't really an option. Why buy a monocular? Well, if you're like me you've found that even though you FEEL like a spring chicken, you're eyes no longer agree. Every day the difference between your right and left eye is a little more pronounced. "No problem" you say, your binoculars have a diopter to correct the years out of your field of view! That is, until you pass them to someone else. A monocular is just a lot less fussing about. Oh! And you can pretend you're a pirate when you look through it (Arrrrr!)

Great Scope

I bought this monocular for my husband to use for birdwatching because he has limited use of one arm binoculars were very difficult for him to use. He couldn't be happier with the monocular. The quality is evident as soon as you pick it up. He can easily focus using only one hand and the optics are excellent. Extremely sharp focus and allows a wide view- perfect for birders! Because of his special need we purchased an adhesive strap by Love Handles, which is a tablet hand strap, to mount to the side of the scope. We are hoping this will give the additional support and security when he uses the scope for longer periods of time. I easily give this scope 5 stars for quality, function and design.

Sweet for the price

I was looking for a good, compact, high power monocular, and when I came across this one with it's reasonable price point and number of favorable reviews, I had to give it a try. I'm glad I did. For it's price, the optics are outstanding. The image is bright, sharp and clear right out to the edges. It's light weight and easy to handle and focus with one hand. The build quality is also excellent with no cheap feel to it. The lens caps fit nice and tight and the front one stays attached when open. Some users have mentioned that they wish the rear one was also tethered but those kind rub up against your cheek when looking through the monocular and can be annoying. It also comes with a nice, serviceable table tripod with adjustable height legs. Another nice feature that isn't mentioned is that the eye piece has three adjustable positions to set your preferred eye relief from the objective so your eye lashes aren't rubbing up against the lens. It would have been perfect if the manufacturer had included a neck strap lug, but that is a minor gripe and the case does have a belt loop. As icing on the cake, I even got an email from Polaris Optics thanking me for my purchase. Only a company committed to customer satisfaction would take that extra step, and I appreciate that.

I have binoculars I got for Christmas a few years back that were made by wingspan (The company was called Polaris at the time) so I knew they made excellent products. I ordered the Titan Monocular because I needed something smaller that I could carry with me along with my camera and not always have both a camera and binoculars. I used the monoculars today and they did exactly what I needed them to do - help me spot and see birds close up that I was then able to photograph. I went with the Titan because they were the highest power and the latest version - the trade off being that they are larger than the 8X42 version which would have been lighter and easier to carry or fix into my camera case. But I like the way I can see birds clearly that are a long ways away. And they are well made and have a nice strap and both caps for both lenses. I attached the front lease cap to the strap so I won't lose it. The monoculars have a screw hole that can be used with standard tripod so it is almost like having a daytime telescope. They also come with a nice case.

Bright and sharp image

I have just received the 10x50 Polaris monocular. So far i'm happy - very bright and well-focused image, quite wide field of view. Seem to have true 10x - I compared with my 12x50 binoculars and Polaris image is just barely smaller. The adjustment for the focus is smooth and precise. Monocular came with tripod which is a little small for this relatively heavy thing, so i'm going to use the tripod with digital camera. As for the price - you get what you paid for. Initially I ordered ~$40 worth monocular from a different company (Barska) and did not like the image and sharpness. Now this one is significantly better for $65. You choose.

I received the Polaris Explorer 12x50 monocular as a gift. For me, there is nothing to dislike about this product. I've always had trouble using binoculars. I couldn't get the images to merge no matter what I did or what brand I used or how much I paid. I know, I know, silly. I figured the monocular was the way to go and it has proved to be perfect in every way. Optics are great, weight and size are perfect. Field of view and depth of field couldn't be better. Construction and form factor are superior to anything I've tried. The 50mm front lense lets in loads of light, so even in low light conditions, the image is clear and crisp with no haze around the outside of the lense. During a black as pitch night, I took a look at the moon. Yup, I could see it in great detail. Two slight problems. One is mine and the other is due entirely to the Polaris Explorer. 12x power is a lot of power. The greater the magnification, the more shake you get. This is easily compensated for by bracing against a solid object or using the tripod (provided). This isn't a flaw - it is a BTW. I encountered one huge drawback with this product. Everybody - EVERYBODY - who takes a peep through it, wants to "borrow it," after which I would never see it again. All of my friends, a pretty loathsome lot to begin with, have to be frisked before they leave the after being within arm's reach of the Polaris. I've recovered the it times already. It would be easy to say I need new friends, but this product would tempt anybody to lust after it. My advice ~ buy one for your very own and leave mine alone!

Great Product

The weather has been crappy so I had to wait awhile to try these out .I own and use spotting scopes and binoculars all the time . I monitor and eagles nest and photograph them too. I have developed a problem with my eyes as I have gotten older . It is the opposite of being cross eyed . This had made using binoculars a problem for me . I have to close one eye . I thought that I should try a monocular to see if they would be better for me . Got to try the monocular out this past couple of days . I am very pleased with the Polaris 12x50 monocular . They really give a great view that is really sharp and clear . Very easy to use and focus . They feel well constructed . Jim K.

"Good performncer" of the Wingspan Optics Titan 12x50 High powered monocular

I've purchased so many binoculars in the $200.00 to $400.00 ranged but was never satisfied with the their "clarity" besides being a little "uncomfortable' to manipulate one -handed when you're competing in an archery competition. I've tried previous monoculars in the past ,but they don't seem effective past 20 yards. After discovering the Wingspan Optics Titan 12x50 High Powered monocular and reading the reviews, I decided to purchase one.And for the price, it was worth it! realizing that there were monoculars in the $600.00 / $800.00 range. This is exactly what I was looking for!. I'm a competitive archer and I feel that this monocular will do just great in competition. So far I've used at a distance of 50 yards and I just love the clarity! I know that I can shoot next to an archer using a $2500.00 "Name Brand" binocular in an "Indoor" or a "Field" tournament and using my Titan 12x50 High powered monocular, I feel that I'll be experiencing the same results of operation! This is an excellent monocular at a good price for what I need it for and I would definitely recommend this monocular.

From our beach balcony

We live in an eleventh floor condo on the beach in Panama City Beach, FL. I thought I wanted binoculars for watching people, boats, waverunners, parasails, etc. from our balcony. While looking at binoculars, I began looking at monocular(s). I liked the Wingspan 12x50 reviews and price. I decided to try it. It was a good move. I took it out of the box and read over the instructions, walked out on the balcony and began using it. It was amazing. I could see piers and buoys I had no suspicion I would be able to see. You will love the dial on the top. I wear glasses and first I used it with them. Then I took off the glasses and used the Wingspan without my glasses. I like it without glasses better. The focus can easily be dialed in with the index finger while looking through the lens. I keyed in on a waverunner rental sign several hundred yards down the beach to focus and I was good to go. Of course, I'm constantly tweaking it. I thought it might shake holing it with one hand but it's the opposite. I can brace my elbow against my body to steady. I am enjoying the Wingspan monocular and spent a few hours watching people, boats, waverunners, parasails, etc. It would be good for watching anything.

I expected the more expensive Minox and Fujinons to be the best. But I was surprised that teh Wingspan and ...

I just received the Wingspan. I also ordered the 12x50 version, a Minox minocular, a FujinonMariner 7x50 WPC-XL and a Hooway 7x50 military/marine binoculars. I expected the more expensive Minox and Fujinons to be the best. But I was surprised that teh Wingspan and Hooway (probably both Chinese) were both sharper and brighter! In the end I decided to keep teh 10x50 Wingspan monoculars over the Hooway binoculars as the images were equally bright but the Wingspan focused sharper and more easiy. The Hooway's were pretty sharp but not quite as sharp and more difficult to focus as they required some effort to turn each eyecup ring. The Wingspan's could be focused with the large knob easily with one hand.
