The kit worked wonders on a leather couch with soft pillows that had 5 tears due to little kid's fingers helping out the tearing up. Since the leather has the distressed look, it worked great, it is hard to see the mended areas. The set comes with only 2 small pieces for fabric backing. They promise to increase the amount of fabric backing pieces, however since I had larger tears, I had to find some fabric backing material that I could use, because the 4x4" fabric pieces were too small. You could use pretty much any strong enough woven thin fabric as a backing. After the repair, I made sure to soak everything with leather conditioner. 5/30/19: Update: Contacted the company and asked where I can obtain more adhesive, since I need to make a couple of more small repairs and still had all of the color and the rest of the supplies. They replied right away and were so kind to send me more adhesive! That was amazing! Thank you again for your product and service!

I'm not a handy or DIY kinda gal. But I gave this a try for an 8 inch rip across the front of my leather sofa. It's shocking how beautiful the results turned out to be! See my pics below. To achieve the desired result you must follow every step and be patient with allowing the product to dry between applications. Mixing the perfect color was a breeze. Don't be afraid to sand!! Using the supplied sand paper, be sure to get the surface smooth. Remember your paint will cover any sanding marks. This is great stuff!

Great product. I made "brown" to match my couch. The included directions where clear. The "brown" dried darker than I expected, but a little alcohol wipe before it was dry and I had a clean slate. I re-made "brown" with more orange and added layers in the scratch with the tip if a tooth pick. This way it dried fast and by the end of an hour my kids could not tell where the scratch was. (If you look for it you can see it, but if standing and three feet away I cannot see it.) I used the filler in two thin layers to fill a torn corner on my chair and the kit did a good job. I worked this one slow over a couple of days. Being a corner it not perfect but now I can walk by not see it. And as the chair is black, no one has noticed that I "fixed" it... Next I'll try the rip in side of my vinyl car seat. Great product and JAM-Products are awesome.

Bought this kit to repair cracks on the seats of a 21 year old car. Had a few questions so I contacted the customer service. They have provided me so much help on how to start the repairs and followed up on the progress. I couldn't be happier with this company's outstanding customer service. From the attached photos you can see how bad these cracks were. Two kits gave me enough glue to fill all the deep cracks and the minor ones. Instruction was easy to follow, mixing paint was straightforward, just need to let the test paint dry to determine the ginal color. I didn't, the color was a little lighter than the original but not by much. Since I have no experience nor patience, I didn't sand the glue fillings down enough. The whole purpose of this repair was to prevent these cracks got any bigger. The glue held and was flexible, it got the job done. I am so happy with this purchase and the assistant I received.

Met all my expectations, worth a lot more than I paid. I made a repair to my leather couch with it and the results were better than expected.

With the arms splitting and stuffing coming out of the seat, I was on the verge of throwing out one of our beloved large leather chairs and not looking forward to spending upwards of $1200 for a new one. Decided I had nothing to lose by giving Doctor Leather a try. And I am glad I did! You must follow the directions and take your time with it - especially with filling the gap after your adhere your repair patch. Let each layer dry thoroughly. It may seem tedious but you will be rewarded with great results! Fixed the tears in both chair arms and the rip on the seat with plenty left over to tackle the rip in my son's leather carseat. This is a great DIY kit and the seller followed up with an email including tips and a thank you for my purchase. Thanks for helping to save our furniture!

I am listing 5 stars for Customer Service and product performance up to where I am at this point. The product itself is packaged in an easy to use manner. Directions are clear and useful, as are the videos on their website. The most difficult part is getting the color to match the leather, but you'll have to do this on any repair kit. The glue that acts as a filler is easy to dispense and seems to fill tears and holes nicely. Regarding customer service, these folks have gone far above and beyond the call of duty by reaching out to me on several occasions to check on my progress and offer help on getting the color matched correctly. Their responses to my email questions have been under 24 hours, and typically in the same day. I'll come back and post more about the final product when I finish, but I did not want to wait till then to put up a review. I will say that the small tears that I have completed look great (exact color match wasn't really needed as these were on the back of an armrest that is not visible to customers in my office).

I really liked the detailed instructions. They were very easy to follow. I used a brush to apply the color and it worked well. This is an Ashley Durablend Oak sofa and the brien was a perfect match IMO. I did four coats and would consider doing one more. I did use a dryer in between two coats. I also used the texture card to imprint the leather. Photos of before and after. Middle cushion on sifa is the one that was repaired. I am very pleased and it buys me some more time before I have to replace the set as Ashley did not have a new cushion cover due to the age of the sofa (8 years).

This was a phenomenal purchase! Kudos to Strongman repair kit! I thought the kit was extremely complete and comprehensive. Great communication to check in and offer advice etc. The colors mixed up great and really allowed me to refine the color to a near perfect match. I told people about the repair and when they looked in my car they asked again where it was. Word of advice....take your time. You want it to look good then really let the layers dry fully (glues and such) then mix a few test swatches to get your hand at it. I highly recommend mixing in good daylight. In a place/time when you can hold your mixed color in the highlights/shadows of the existing upholstery. I did my fist go during a slightly cloudy day and thought i had it close but when I saw it in some bright light it was too green (see photo). But with a little rubbing alcohol and another go at it I got it pretty spot on. Check your mix under different light sources and you will have a great result. Just take your time with it. I didn't quite get the handle of the texturing process (the sheets of various leather texture you press into the half cured mixed color to get a leather texture) but I was able to use the included spatula in a way that matched the existing texture well enough. Again, VERY happy with this purchase/product and have already recommended it to several friends/colleagues. Well done!!

My experience: 1) Bought this product to repair slightly frayed/aged leather in the seating area of my couch 2) Since the filler adhesive that comes with this product includes only 2 x 20ml bottles, also bought “Tear mender Bish TG-6H” following Amazon’s “people who buy this also bought that” idea. 3) Tear mender did not stick/bond at all to my non-porous leather couch; the outcome was sticky/ patchy film which when sat on it cracked. Was a grave mistake trying to use it as a filler. Removing it was a complete disaster. 4) Then I’d tried the leather adhesive from Doctor-Leather & it was great to see how well it bonded with the leather. So, called Steven @ Doctor-Leather to order more adhesive and I was pleasantly surprised by the care he took to walk me through next steps, including looking at my pictures & pretty much doing a 1:1 professional support/ advice. Hope most companies’ customer support is close to what Steven continues to provide. 5) Incredibly happy with the product & support. Would recommend to anyone without any hesitation.
