Holding up my lightboxes.
These are perfect for holding the HTC Vive light boxes. I have moved my Vive four times since I have purchased these and every time these have been a perfect fit for setting up my space. If you can't put holes in the wall or like me, like to take your Vive to parties, this is the solution. The included bag is generic, as it is bigger than the 2 stands combined, but it helps keep them stored when not in use and easy to carry around, with space for anything else you want to throw in there. I have a regular tripod for a video camera in there now. The only issue I have had, and it was only a minor irk, is that the lighthouses have a slight vibration to them and the spring inside the pole picked up on this vibration making a slight metallic shaking sound. It is all in the extension and placement of the stand that makes the difference with that though.

Works with vive base stations but recommend using 3rd hand poles instead
Works great, ball head connection is a must with the vive base stations for adjusting the angles. However, do wish I had put some more thought into base station support before purchasing these as the footprint of the stands can pose a problem in your play space. The size is adjustable but obviously the wider the stand is at the bottom, the more stable it is. I would not recommend using these if you have large dogs, my dogs have knocked these over a few times while I was playing (which is awful for the hardware as well as being quite jarring when you are in game). Instead, I got 3rd hand contractor poles (tension rods) with a pole clamp attachment for the base station. They prevent my dogs from knocking over my expensive hardware and to be honest they are quite portable, all you have to do is screw the handle in and out to adjust the height for removal and relocation: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CRDD6Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you are researching base station support, I highly recommend considering 3rd hand poles in lieu of these.

Must have for the VIVE users that travel, or cant perm mount their lighthouses.
Cant beat the price point for these units. Others will be 30 - 40 for one stand. This pack i bought for my VIVE setup because im at a location where i cant perm mount my lighthouses. These units arrived on time, and were very quick to setup. I was worried about the quality of both the bases and the ball mounts but i was very surprised to see both are great quality. They have some weight to them (which is a good indicator of quality) but never fear they are easy to carry and hardly noticeable. I was worried they would tip on their own but just a bit of common sense with the bases to make sure they are spread out the higher you deploy them helps keep them moving at all. The added springs they have to help pop out the grip points makes it nice and easy to extend and you don't feel your jamming it back in every time and screwing it down. I will suggest to any VIVE owners out there. Literally the only criticism i would offer the company, would be one of two items. Reduce the size of the bag, because even after both units are in the carry case it has a lot of wasted space. However since it is not a hard cover putting items in there are at risk of rubbing against the poles. Alternatively

Good quality and a nice bag!
I have bought some inexpensive light stands on Amazon in the past, and the quality was definitely lacking - although they 'worked'. This time, I still wasn't looking to break the bank on a set of light stands - but opted to go with a little higher quality option. I am not disappointed! The bag is very nice, MUCH better quality than the one that came with the el-cheapo stand I bought before (not from the same seller) and the quality of the stands themselves is MUCH more solid. Definitely will be used!

Works perfectly for Vive base stations! I have carpet floor and these are totally sturdy. Once these were set up and my room calibrated, I haven't had to move or adjust them once and haven't had any issues with tracking in VR. The vibration from the light houses is tangible if you actually put a hand on the pole, but otherwise doesn't affect tracking and is not visible or audible. Footprint may be an issue for those with very small or standing-room-only play areas, but otherwise I think light stands like these are overall the best option for Vive mounting solutions; they're tall, sturdy, portable, able to set up in an instant, and don't look bad or out of place either. As for this specific one compared to others, I liked that these came with a bag, and it's also very smart of them to recognize a different target market in bundling the tripods with the ball head mounts for VR. Props.

Great for the price
I gave this 5 stars for the price/quality ratio. I travel around a lot to do sessions and needed something good enough to hold a flash/umbrella or LED. The quality is decent enough, for 37 bucks it's a steal, but by the same token for this price you shouldn't expect heavy duty professional grade equipment. I work a lot and I see these as almost disposable, I'll abuse them for a year or as long as they hold up and buy new ones. If you need something professional or to hold a lot of weight you'll have to spend quite a bit more.

Incredible!!
I bought one set of these and loved them so much, that I ordered another set. You can't beat them, for the money. The joints where you tighten the stand are plastic and will need to be handled a little gently, but overall the build quality it awesome! The bag is an awesome touch, too. It's nice and big. I currently have all four stands, two umbrellas, and two swivel brackets, all in one of the Studio Pro bags!!

Not the best BUT for the price . . .
I have this bobtail cat that is the devil. I built a small studio for product photography in my basement--it's been up for ten years until my sister dumped this cat on me. Long story short, this cat is nuts and one of my background stands broke because of her. Naturally this happened when I was broke and I'm not shelling out some big $$$ for a legit brand. These stands are for a studio light---I'm using them to support a ten foot paper background roll. Not what they were intended to do. But I'm happy to say they have been up to the task for the past few months since I've had them. A bit wobbly, but once I get them in place and use a bit of care to roll down the paper, they are solid.

Great stands, work perfectly with the Vive lighthouses!
Previously, I'd been using two cheapy tripod stands for cameras. They weren't very tall, and so I had them mounted precariously on top of tables, cabinets, etc. Not a good long-term solution at all! But then I found these listed, and picked up a set - boy am I happy! This set of telescoping stands with mounts on them are awesome! I have them set up in my basement, and they're not even extended as tall as they can go! The insides of the mounts appear to be spring-loaded, which is nice. This means that as you lower the mounts, if you slip and accidentally drop the tubing as you're retracting it, it won't slam into the bottom of the lower segment. There's a spring inside that will catch it, and protect it as you lower it. These things are also SOLID! I don't have the legs as narrow as they can go. I've got them a bit wider, so that they have a bit larger footprint on them, to keep them from accidentally being bumped and toppled over. But with the slightly wider stance, and the mount extended almost fully, there's effectively zero wobble to them at all. The tracking is solid in the Vive, and there's zero movement to the sensors, even with my weight jumping around on the floor playing games! The included adapter / ball mounts are great too. It makes it incredibly easy to attach the lighthouses to the mounts, and position them at whichever angle you'd like for the best coverage of the play area. In my case, I just mounted the lighthouses to the ball mounts, attached the ball mounts to the stands, and then extended the stands to the height I needed. In the end, I got a rock solid mounting system in place that prevented me from having to drill holes in my wall, with a very little footprint, and even the option to take my entire Vive setup with me wherever I want to go, thanks to the included storage bag as well! The bag isn't anything fancy, and is just a generic overall bag, but it makes a great product even better in the end. I did have one minor issue with one of my stands initially. The spring latch system I mentioned previously, seemed to be a bit loose on one of the stands. When the lighthouses turned on, the vibration of the motors inside one of them was amplified through the stand / mount, and resulted in an annoying buzzing coming from one of the stands. I couldn't hear it when I was using the Vive with headphones in, but it was loud enough to be an annoyance to others around me if I was playing in a group. But, a simple email to support, and they rectified the problem for me immediately, and swapped it out with a replacement stand that worked perfectly. Now the entire setup is nice and quiet again! Well worth the price. 5* product for sure!

tripod for HTC Vive
I bought these to use for the IR lighthouse units on the HTC Vive. They work perfectly for this purpose, very stable, no wobble at all. They are sturdy and seem to be built well. Very small foot print on the floor so if you are tight on space these will work well, if you have more space you can widen them for more stability but even at max height they do not move at all. Even with the slight vibration these boxes generate. Coupled with the tripod ball head bracket and it's a complete solution for your VR space.
