This is a great set of trains. Reminds me of Brio quality. They're solid, we'll painted, colorful, and creative. My son is obsessed with steam engines and the coal car they pull behind it, so this was especially exciting to have those. Their stature helps them stay on the tracks easier than other off brands such as ones we've bought at target and other stores. Absolutely love these!

This train set is a great value for the high quality received. There are three engines, each with three cars. The pieces are very distinct and beautifully painted. One train is a passenger train, one is a cargo train, and one is a freight train. The cargo pieces come off their cars and have magnetic pieces on top so they could be lifted by a magnetic crane toy. Each trains ' cars have a matching wheel color, so it is easy to organize the cars. Of course, you can mix and match them however you want. The wooden box they come in is lovely too, and it makes an excellent way to put the toys away on a shelf. We bought this for my four year old son, but the two year old and the seven year old like to play with them too. We don't have any Thomas train tracks, but these seem by their size like they would be compatible with them.

Got two boxes of these for my 3 year old grandson, He does well with them. they take some abuse on the floor and on the tracks from him and have held up, Have gotten a lot of play time and these with some wooden track pieces and his Thomas trackmaster splash set get hours and hours of play time. As a side Note these work on the Plastic Thomas trackmaster tracks.

This set was a Christmas gift for my 3-year-old son last year, and he has played with them at least 4 days a week every week since then. That's a biggie for me because, as most parents know, it's easy to purchase a gift you think your child will love and they do love it -- for about 2 weeks, and then it's largely forgotten. These trains are flawlessly painted, sturdy and compatible with most, if not all, of the name brand wooden trains and track sets and these trains are MUCH more affordable than the name brand toys. My son has a few of the wooden Thomas engines, and these integrate with those just fine. The magnets are pretty strong as well, though not so strong that a young toddler can't easily pull them apart. My son often makes trains 8 or 9 cars long and can pull them around the track without them breaking apart most of the time. A couple of the trains have pieces that lift off and fit back onto pegs on the train (like the oil tanker train), so there's an added bonus of fine motor practice there. My son is autistic and sometimes throws toys when he has meltdowns. These trains have been thrown on the hard kitchen floor a few times and are no worse for the wear. I expect they'll last a very, very long time. The wooden box they come in shown in the picture makes for a nice gift presentation, but it isn't really practical for storing the trains because the "shelves" are not very deep. We ended up spray painting it and hanging it up in my son's room to display some of his tiny figures, like Shopkins.

I am extremely pleased with this item . Very good wood and painted very nice . Good sturdy cars and fit the universal tracks í got for it. My son is very happy ! Update 6 months later : My son has played with these trains everyday. They have not broke and still paint is attached. Will buy more trains to add to his collection.

Initially purchased this for our oldest toddler but our two year old loves it too! Three different interchangable sets with three engines and nine train cars. Magnets are very strong. We haven't purchased a track yet, we wanted to check out the quality first. The wheels work very well that my toddlers don't mind to just play on the floor or a table. The storage box is also nice for keeping everything together. Will definitely purchase a track also.

This little train is amazing. My great-grandson's birthday is today. He is now 5 years old. He wanted a train. I bought this little train that looked cute but thought it couldn't be much because it was only $20.00. Wow. How wrong! This is the cutest, well-made little train set. It hooks together with magnets and is just really special. It even has a little wooden box for the train cars. He was thrilled and so was I. I ordered it yesterday and paid more to have it delivered today. I really didn't think it would get here but it did! Thanks Amazon and Orbrium toys. Love it!

These trains are great! Build quality is decent enough but the value is what I love about these the most. You get a lot of train cars for a fraction of the price of the competitors (Thomas brand trains come to mind; At my local store they are >$15 per train.) Additionally, each train car is unique. Some have removable tops, some swivel, some have wooden inserts. It's a nice touch that makes each train car unique. My child loves them! Product is exactly as it appears in the Amazon page photo.

i love this especially since the train cars are connected by magnets. My 3 year old grandson understands that you have to put the positive side of the magnet with the negative side. The trains are well constructed and have been played with for multiple hours without and parts falling off. If you are debating on getting a beginner train set i highly recommend this. mainly because the trains that connect with a hook and loop come apart very easily, which frustrated my grandson.

My daycare children, ages 18 months to 5 years, love these train cars. They fit our Brio train set, but even more importantly, because of the strong magnets on each car, the children can make very long trains and play with them on the hard wood floor as well as on carpet and they don't pull apart ! There's no more fighting about who gets the engine because there are three of them. The materials and construction are high quality and the price can't be beat. One of the best purchases I've made for my daycare. .
