• The Banjo ukulele is a four stringed instrument with a small banjo type body and a fretted concert size ukulele neck that was very popular in the '20s & '30s. It features the distinctive sound of a banjo and the small scale tuning and playing style of a Ukulele. The instrument uses standard ukulele tuning of G-C-E-A.
  • The drum head of Kmise banjolele made of polyster with great elasticity has a quick response. Equipped with superior Aquila String from Italy and high quality closed geared tuners, this banjolele can not only produce a bright and percussive tone but also be in an accurate intonation and stay in tune well.
  • Compared with other banjoleles, Kmise banjolele with action 3mm at 12th fret is very comfortable for beginners to learn because players do not need to press too hard with such a low action. Preset with truss rod inside the neck, players can adjust the action with the wrench as needed. Smooth fretboard and neat fret wires also offer comfortable touch and protect hands from being scratched.
  • Kmise banjolele has various playing methods. It can be in a traditional resonator style or an open back style by detaching its back. Traditional resonator style produces a mellower, softer sound while the open back style has a brighter sound.
  • Kmise provides 90-day warranty for the banjolele and lifetime string replacement. If there is any problem with Kmise banjolele, please feel free to contact us and we will reply you within 24 hours and help you solve the problem ASAP.

I’m a professional musician—I primarily play woodwind instruments and teach general music. I’ve done my fair share of instrument repair—brass, woodwind, percussion, and all sorts of string instruments. For strings, I mostly play a ukulele in the classroom and really wanted to add a banjolele to the instruments. The overall build quality is actually very good. I’ve seen ones for $150 from well know instrument companies that do not match the quality of this instrument. I do highly recommend watching some videos on YouTube about set up. You’ll want to tighten the head a fair amount or the intonation will not be consistent. I had some issues with my A string having a very flat tone coming from the drum area, especially when I would play different notes along the string. You’ll need to tinker with that for a bit to get it just right. It’s not an instrument that’s ready to go so you will want to work with someone who knows what they are doing. If you set the bridge off by even a millimeter it will really offset the intonation. If you’re expecting an easy set up, and that it’ll be like a Ukulele, you’ll be disappointed. It needs to a little bit more advanced set up, and once you get it there, it’ll work great! I spent a good hour stretching the strings, adjusting the head tension, adjusting the bridge, and tailpiece tension. Intonation was terrible until I got things juuuuust right. I know I’m rambling and repeating myself, but this really is a neat and good quality instrument. It takes patience to get it sounding its best. I think that’s why there are negative reviews—people have no clue the amount of time and musical knowledge it takes to set it up.

This is a pretty great banjalele not only for it's price, but in general. I got it for my friend as a birthday present. Couldn't help but to play around with it just a bit. "Got to make sure it's not broken" I said. The bag is not amazing but it works. IDK about the tuner but the banjalele was great. It comes with a drum tuner/tightener, a bag, a piece by of plastic to show where the bridge goes, the bridge, extra strings, and a tuner.

I really enjoy playing this banjolele. I had to figure out how to put the bridge on myself. Luckily youtube had a video on how to place it. It took a few weeks to hold the tune but now it stays in tune really well. The tuner that came with it was no good as far as I could tell. Luckily I had another one that I could use. It seems to be good quality and has a good tone.

I'm a beginner, used to have a Kala ukulele and learned a few songs on it. Sold it and recently wanted another one. I saw this one and it was too cute to pass up. It actually sounds "plucky" like a banjo but it's easy to play and portable like a ukulele. Really enjoy the banjo sound. Also has a really nice weight to it.

We bought this for my 2.5 yr old grandson who loves his PopPop’s banjo. He has been learning how to strum etc and wanted to play it more. What a wonderful surprise when this arrived! It is Rest workmanship and has a unique sound. It is heavier than a ukulele and won’t be “destroyed” easily by a 3 yr old! But it’s also a fun instrument for someone older and adults!

I love this banjo ukulele! I play concert, tenor, and baritone, and it is great to receive such a unique sounding instrument in the mail and know how to play it right away, even if you be never played one before. This is a great instrument for a ukulele player to add to their collection. I have tried the oscar schmidt version, and it is okay, I think the oscar is heavier though, but nothing to note about why one should pay double for the oscar schmidt version. You can't beat the price of this banjolele. I will say that I felt a bit mislead when the seller was "kmise-us" and it shipped from China instead of here in U.S., so it took about 3 weeks to get here.

Updated & Upgrading from 3 to 5 stars. Seller contacted within a few hours of receiving to replace bag with broken softcase zipper.. agreed to replace case free within 3 hours of my contacting them.:::: original review follows:::::: Would have gotten 5 stars if main softcase zipper didn't fall apart upon first unzipping. Banjolele itself is very good in design, sound quality and construction with only fault is that the 4 tuner knobs are a bit on the lightweight side but tuner gears are very good. Separate Tuner is nice and works well. The banjolele has good and lound sound strummed with only fingers as well. Banjolele bridge easily set up and tuned. Has side fret marker dots as well as on fretboard face. The banjolele is better in quality than price asked so, not too upset over a cheap zipper in the softcase arriving in 3 broken pieces.

Great instrument for the price. Worth Five Stars! The shipping took over 6 weeks and was incomplete - did not come with advertised bag and tuner. Had to contact Amazon - but response was good and timely. Got a bag within a reasonable time and the tuner about two weeks after the banjo was delivered. I was not that upset as it seemed that everyone was trying to make it right. Had to laugh that I was sent an email to track the turner - but all the information was in Chinese and I could not figure it out. But the instrument works as well as could be expected. Putting the bridge on was easy to do. Just loosen the strings some and slid it sideways under then flip it so that it is upright. Then push the strings with your fingers until each one is cradled in the 4 groves on the bridge. Slide it so that it is 8 and half inches from the 12th fret and then tune the stings. The first several times that you play it you will have to keep tuning it - but it seems to hold better now that time has gone by. I guess the strings need to be broken in... becasue it stays in tune much longer now. Over-all - a sensible buy for non-serious players. It sounds good enough. I would assume that those that coast 2-3 times more may have a better sound - but for my lifestyle and purposes this is good enough.

This is awesome plays just like a ukulele sounds like a banjo what more can you ask for I recommend this Kmise Banjolele. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍

Way better quality than expected. The bridge was easy to set up, it comes with a plastic spacer and directions. The strings are good and the tuners are the same found on ukes costing twice as much.
