the other bent straight up so I left it like that, but could easily snap it from the ...
I bought this specifically to use in my 6 quart Instant Pot. After bending the handles up with pliers one side snapped cleanly from the weld, the other bent straight up so I left it like that, but could easily snap it from the weld without leaving any marks. The rim comes to the line under the Max fill line, and is easy to grip. The legs raise it about 1.5 cm from the bottom but you do have room to raise it more if needed. There are many more expensive strainers targeted towards the IP but this is very well made-in America- and a great price

strudy well made colander
I bought this for a new instant pot because supposedly it was easy to remove the handles and allow it down in the pot. Not so. The colander is very sturdily made and the handles have good welds. I was able to break the weld by using 2 really big pliers. The rim did not deform even then. Excellent colander or steam basket for the i-pot or for regular use too. A very useful tool for steaming.

Bought for my instant pot, use for some many other things!
Bought this to use with my instant pot. Bent off the handles at the welding points. Fits like a glove and works perfectly for chicken stock, refried beans, whatever you need to strain. I store it inside of the IP when not in use.

All liquid drains out. That's the way a colander is suppose to work...SS should last a long time.
*Likes* All liquid quickly drains out without fuss or muss as opposed to standard colander. Appears well made of Stainless Steel (SS) mesh. Handles and fit spot welded on and other posts note handle's ease of removal, which could be interpreted as handle's ease to fall off under duress I suppose. For several automatic dishwasher cycles, all components have remained intact. Pleased with purchase.

Well Made And Very Handy
This 3 quart stainless steel steamer is well made and very handy. I love the way I can have fresh steamed vegetables by adding very little water and putting my vegetables in the steamer. I don't have to drain my vegetables any more...the steamer basket holds plenty of vegetables and other items that I like to have steamed. The price was great too. For less than $10 this is a great steamer basket.

With the handles removed, fits perfect in a 6 quart electric pressure cooker.
I bought this to use in my Power Cooker electric pressure cooker. I needed a steaming basket, and this fits perfectly in my 6 quart cooker. The handles had to be removed, but they weren't too difficult to get off. My husband just used a tool to grab them and bend them back and forth until they came off. It has 3 little 'feet' on the bottom, which is nice, so you don't have to use another rack to set it on. It will stay up out of the water a bit.

Glad I ordered two even though I didn't mean to! LOL
Well, I goofed and accidentally ordered two. I thought about returning the one, but it wasn't cost effective and I immediately put the extra one to use holding fresh pears, so it was meant to be. And, as with the other strainer, I purposely twisted off the handles with a set of pliers so as to fit inside my Instant Pot, it was probably a good thing I ordered two as I rather like having the handles on it for other uses! These are lovely, and useful and very reasonable.

For making instant pot Greek yogurt
This is a high quality, perfectly sized stainless steel, fine-mesh colander that I purchased solely to strain my Instant Pot yogurt because I prefer thick, Greek style yogurt. This strainer is 100% what I needed. It does the job perfectly. I just rest the strainer on top of a stock pot and cover the whole apparatus with a silicone universal cover/lid. I strain the yogurt for two days in the fridge to make it very thick but one day is also good. Perfect accessory for yogurt makers!

Good for many purposes in addition to Instant Pot use
Update added 8/4/17 below. I love making my own stock from a chicken carcass, but hate the mess of having to drain the broth from the bones and mirepoix after cooking. I end up with multiple big pieces of equipment to wash. By using this basket, I can lift out the solid remains easily and have only this and the original pot to wash. The mesh is fine enough to keep small bits from getting into the broth and the feet keep the basket up off the bottom of the pot and help with draining. Although I use it in the Instant Pot, it would work well for the same function in a stove top pot, or for making hard boiled eggs, pasta or parboiling fries--anything where quick draining is useful. It's great for making stock and broth in the Instant Pot with a minimum of hassle. Yes, you do have to remove the handles for it to fit in the inner pot, but I was able to snap them off with pliers. I tried bending them up as some people suggested, but they are pretty sturdy and I never could get them bent far enough. Turned out to be easier to just get them off. Wish Instant Pot made this sort of gadget with handles that folded down or something, but in the meantime this works. I also use it for straining orange and grapefruit juice I make with the attachment to my food processor. The food processor does a great job of juicing large quantities fast, but doesn't filter out the pulp very well. I set this strainer in a large bowl and just pour the juice in. When I remove the strainer, the juice is just as I like it. On QVC there is a Cook's Essential set that includes a nice basket of this type as well as one that is not as deep and a silicone 'pan' with a lid. They all fit perfectly in the 6 Quart IP. The basket has a fold-down handle that makes it better for use in the pressure cooker since it's easy to remove. While I still like this one for washing berries and such in the kitchen, I've found the other is best for use with the pressure cooker just as it is.

Same strainer lower price!
I just received my strainer. I bought the instant pot duo 7 in 1 and the RSVP Endurance Stainless Steel 3 Quart Wide Rim Mesh Basket was highly recommended for my pressure cooker. Just an easy snap off of the spot welded handles and it will fit the cooker. While I was deciding I saw this one with the same specs, looks and an awesome warranty plus a lower price. When I got it I manipulated the handles with only my hands and I'm not a strong person and they popped right off. Looks like I'll have a nice strainer for cooking in my instant pot as well as rinsing rice or quinoa. Don't hesitate...this is the one!
