Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. This is sausageville. We drink beer and eat sausages. I have a routine. I boil the sausages, then warm up my gas grill, throw the sausages on the lower rack. Watching. Rotating. Then I clean the grill. Then clean the stainless steel pot I boiled them in. It's an hour to an hour and a half process. It's tedious in my household of two to cook four sausages so it's only done eight or so times a year. Saw the commercial, came to Amazon, glimpsed the reviews and ordered. 3 minutes prep to clean the griddles, 12 minutes to cook, 5 minutes to clean the gunk off the griddles and put away. Dear Lord! THIS is how sausages were meant to be enjoyed! The only real con is no grill marks. However that is easily offset by a perfectly crisp skin around the entire sausage. No worry of undercooking, no worry of overcooking. And I don't have to watch it or worry about spurting juices causing a flaming flare-up on the grill. No standing outside in unbearable summer humidity or bitter winter chill. If ever a product were invented that I needed but never knew I needed: this is it! Having said all that.... $99 for a George Foreman for sausages?! Ridiculously overpriced. It's a $50 item. American company Johnsonville making an American made grill? Nope, this product clearly states in the manual it's made in the People's Republic of China. Harrumph! But....If you're a midwesterner who eats brats, italians, etc the $99 price tag saves a whole heck more time and cost (natural gas, propane/charcoal) in just a 1 year span. Here's to never again having to eat a microwaved sausage grilled a prior day. :)

It cooks and browns beautifully just as it advertizes but one must take sausages straight from the package and xfer to grill. If sausages are rinsed dry completely before putting in grill. Do not boil soak or alter sausages in any way .!!! Also the grill parts can be taken apart and washed just depress the buttons on the sides remove wash and snap back in. The grill is fun to use and really works.

I've used it twice, and the thing cooks from raw to 'grilled' in 14 minutes - AWESOME! However, the power cord is ridiculously short (likely due to safety standards) -- I had to plug mine into a power strip to place at a comfortable/workable position in my kitchen. My other issue is the 'done' beeps which are too quiet when sitting two rooms away with the TV on & A/C running - they should've used whatever my Kenmore microwave & range have, as they pierce surrounding noise. Cleanup is very, very easy. The bratwursts turn out PERFECTLY...

I got this for my husband, I don't usually like Brats but he loves them. I was so skeptical, But he wanted it really bad! It is so cool!! It cooks them perfectly browned inside and out. I tried them and they are delicious! I thought it was a crazy impractical thing to buy but it makes such yummy brats and sausage I will be cooking them easier, faster, and more often now! Happy I tried it!

What a fun product! We don't own an outside grill, as we live in a forest and are very afraid of fire... but we love nicely browned brats. What to do...? Saw this on TV and decided it was worth a try. VERY pleased... tender, juicy brats with a great brown outside. We only cook 2 at a time, so I decided to use the extra 3 holes to grill the onions. Perfect! Just add a little s/p to the onions and they were ready to go with the brats. Will make a great gift idea at Christmas, too.

This grill is amazing and worth every penny! My family and friends are all big Johnsonville fans so when I saw this I knew I had to have one. It blew everyone away how perfectly it cooked brats and in less than 15 minutes! It has a drip pan but not much makes it there. They stay incredibly juicy and have that satisfying snap. I recommend opening the grill as soon as it beeps that it's done because they can overcook very quickly. Also, if the top side isn't browned as much, give them a flip when it finishes cooking and the residual heat will finish browning in a minute or 2.

Best grill I have ever owned, I use it to grill all kinds of casing meats. Brats, kielbasa, hot dogs, polish sausage, chicken brats, bacon cheddar stuffed sausage links etc. As a heads up, try to use skinless sausage, the grill does not do well sausages in artificial casings. It really is pretty unlimited as to all the casing meat filled products you can use this thing for. Just be a little creative, if your food item is a little to long just trim off some, and place the trimmed end toward the drain end of the grill. Most meat filled casings have a natural curve to them. If your products don't, just bend them a little and they will work fine in this thing. Another nice feature is that these take about 13-15 minutes to finish cooking your choice of sausages, which means you can cook to a clock, and prepare other items to go with your sausages while you wait the 13-15 min. I paid full price and have no affiliation with the company at all.

The unit is pricey for just doing sausages but it does a wonderful job .The sausages come out plump and juicey and cooked to Perfections. no more burnt on the outside and pink on the inside...just great brats

Holy cow this thing is magnificent! First 4 brats perfectly cooked inside and out. Took only 15 mins. Even the right amount of char on the outside. Most importantly I cooked indoors no charcoal grill needed. No smoke either.easy to clean just wipe down with sponge while waiting for brats to cool. The only negatives are the red snap closure is cheap and seems like it’ll break soon, but should not effect the performance. The cord is too short. Barely reaches from middle of stove to outlet. Drip tray is kinda flimsy and too short grease will drip especially when wiping down. Note you do need to clean before first use and run through a quick heat cycle too. Or you may get some chemical odor. And you can cook Johnsonville beer brats with this not a perfect fit but cooks great

My family loves brats! We used to put them on a spit in our rotisserie until it broke. Then we tried all different kinds of ways to cook brats. It was never as good as the spit. I searched for an easier, better way than a huge rotisserie for just one meal. I found this cooker. I read all the reviews and decided to try it even though I felt the price was too high even on Amazon. I found one as an open box item a lot cheaper and it came on time and was wrapped as if it had never been opened at all. We ran it through the dishwasher so we could use it the next day. Read the instructions first! You do not preheat this cooker. Not at all. You attach the grease bin into slots in the front, lower part of the cooker. It sounds weird, but you will get the hang of it. You must always put a brat in the #1 position of the cooker. This is where the temperature gauge is. The cooker will beep when it is done by measuring the tomp of this brat in position #1. You can cook one to five at a time. They come out perfect! My family was so happy and I was too. No more dealing with a rotisserie or pans to cook brats. The clean up was easy too. I hand washed it once and we dish washed it twice. It is a heavy and sturdy small appliance. I did follow some of the reviews by making sure to have the brats mostly the same height. I smashed them a little so the lid would come down evenly. I also did not force the lid as to not break the clip. I was just really easy with it and it worked great. It will cook the brats in about 10 to 15 minutes (when thawed) as stated. No more boiling them, etc. Easy to use, and easy to clean. We are very happy with this purchase! I think this would make a wonderful gift for the brat lover in your family! I really, really, recommend this purchase!
