Needed to secure a laptop

Using this for a common area computer at an apartment building after our previous computers had been stolen (we were using just a thick cable). These are far more sturdy and give me a much better feeling about our security - the laptop would essentially have to broken in order to be removed!

MacBook 12 Retina

So I tried one of those Maclocks things for my 12” MacBook retina - it was ok, but leaves the bottom exposed to scratches since it doesn’t come with a cover, and existing covers won’t work. Decided to try this one, and it’s obviously what I should have bought in the first place. I didn’t even have to adjust the sides - it fit perfectly. The only downside is it’s not a combination lock, and the keys are a bit clumsy, and the base is pretty heavy when I think they could make it somewhat lighter. One point of note since my MacBook is a different width to the MacBook Air is mine fit perfectly without adjustment, so how this fits the air I don’t know. Anyway, good solution for mine.

Solid security device.

Tank-like solidity. Should make it very difficult for the usual run of thieves who work public places, even offices and libraries.

A MacBook Pro security lock

This MacPro lock doesn't take up an output port and is formidable that a thief will think twice. I tried two before and they didn't encourage me as this did.

Great solution to the Macbook no lock problem

This provided the perfect solution to securing my MacBook Pro when in a public place doing research. I need to be able to step away from the table where my laptop is being used at times and with this lock, I am able to do that without worrying about someone walking off with my laptop. I like how it doesn't need to be screwed into the laptop itself. It is a perfect fit and is easy to use.

Excellent locking solution

I initially purchased a simple Kensington lock with a T-bar, however, I did not realize that my MacBook (2015 MacBook with Retina Display, 13 inch) lacked the Kensington port. Instead, I purchased the locking station, and I find it to be an excellent solution. Out of the box, it must be adjusted using an Allen wrench in order to fit the size of the laptop on which it is being used, but it is easy to open and close. In summary, a very sturdy, excellent locking solution for my laptop.

It works

We had to find a way for our mackbooks to stop sprouting legs. We tried adhesive locking devices, but they proved ineffective. We tired these locks and we were surprised by the design and effectiveness. We ended up buying 20.

Very Well made

The lock is very solid and substantial. Key works great. High quality construction. Precision fit. Easy to install. [I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch with touch bar, (A1707).] It is not the kind of lock you would want to carry around with you though. It is pretty heavy. Cable is thick would not be easily cut unless someone was walking around with a bolt cutter... I am happy with my purchase.

Security for thin laptops

When I found out my laptop didn't have a security port, I was almost in disbelief. However, this lock system works like a charm. While it is definitely on the pricier side, it does exactly what you'd need it to do. Setting it up was a little tedious, but once I figured it out I felt dumb for not getting it sooner. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for laptop security.

Good solution for thin laptops

Product works as expected and is a good solution for light/thin laptops without a built in security connector. The assembly instructions could have been a little clearer, but it wasn't so bad to warrant taking away a star. I purchased this for my daughter to take to college so I won't be able to take advantage of the units ability to permanently attach to a desk. Overall I would recommend this product
