Sleek but light escapes from the top
These are surprisingly sleek looking. Some light escapes from the top despite the fact that the blackout liners completely cover the area of the window and go about 7 inches over the top of the window. We were able to find studs. The metal is very light. No parts were missing in our boxes - in fact I think we had an extra part that others were missing. We were careful to open it on the floor thanks to other people's tips.

Effective & Attractive
This rod was much easier to install than a standard curtain rod. Its minimal profile provides less light leak than traditional curtain rods and looks very clean. The item was well-packaged and included all hardware needed to hang, including drywall anchors. Tips: -Make sure you measure and install at least 6-12 inches wider than the window on each side for maximum light leak control. -Buy curtains wide enough to wrap around the rod corners and touch the wall without leaving a gap between the panels when closed. Otherwise, you will have more light leaking through the sides. -Purchase longer curtains and install the rod well above the window height, otherwise light will leak through the top, reflect off the ceiling, and your room won't be as dark (and make sure your curtains go to the floor).

The rod is great, that hardware...not so much
This curtain rod is just what I was looking for. There is a streetlight just across from my bedrooms patio door and it illuminates my room a little too well. First of all, just forgot about the hardware they send, it's pretty much useless if you're going to be hanging blackout curtains. If you can hit the stud I'd use 3" screws and if you can't hit a stud use molly bolts or toggle bolts for a good solid hold. I got the longest length possible hung my rod 12 out past the edge of my patio door on either side and 12 above as well. It perfectly blocks out the light, but keep in mind no matter how great the rod is the curtains you pick are the biggest part of this equation. But aside from the hardware swap out the curtain rod itself was very easy to install.

Quality Rods
These curtain rods are by far much better than my previous PotteryBarn double rods, and they were top notch. The installation is relatively easy. They look amazing and work well with both pocket and grommet curtains. Of the six I purchased, I had two that needed slight modifications due to my unique window size. Because the rods are quality metal I was able to saw them down to size and sand the edges smooth without ever needing to touch up the paint. They are that well made. I would recommend them to anyone. The only suggestion I have for the manufacturer is to use stronger shipping boxes. They arrived a bit battered but the product was unharmed.

Affordable, durable, and stylish double rods to keep your black out curtains as functional as possible. LOVE THIS ITEM
The wrap around feature is KEY for darkening curtains so you don't get the seep along the sides. If it's installed high enough, it allows minimal light seeping from the top. The mounting hardware has small holes which made it challenging to install because I'd already drilled the pilot holes when I realized my screws wouldn't fit through the hardware. Super easy to lift the rods on and off the mounting hardware. The quality can seem a little weak, but it holds my curtains up just fine. I had installed Ikea double curtain rods on another bedroom window to save money, but instantly regretted not getting another one of these Umbra rods. Definitely recommend this item for black out curtains and having the option of sheer privacy curtains on the inner rod!

super cool!
this thing is honestly so cool. i was planning to buy just one for the backdoor sliding door.. but, we ended up loving it so much we bought it for all the other rooms! i love how simple it looks and thqt it hides the bar at the end instead of those stylist ones that eventually ull get tired of seeing. the one thing i dislike is the middle bar. now, if you have a curtain with the rings in them, this wont be a problem. although, i should me tion thqt i never bothered to check if other curtains would work with it, i figure id love it anway. the curtain i tried is a slide on fabric which gets caught on the middle bar. since the curtain has to go over that area due to a small bump, it kinda has to be tugged a bit. sometimes, the back curtain gets dragged along when i do this. if you plan to use both curtain with grommets i think thats what its called.. then everything should be okay. in general, i still love it. especially the part where it hides the end bar

A little expensive but worth it.
First things first. Throw away the anchors that come in the package and head to your local hardware store are get some real 3/16 or 1/4 anchors and screws. I ordered 3 rods total for 3 different windows. Each rod came with a center support bracket and all the hardware needed. I opped to get longer rods than i needed because i do not have a place to mount the center bracket for support. So i cut down the inner rod and made sure i had more than 3 feet of the inner rod inside the outer rod and this ensured that there was no sag in the middle. Currently im using Deconovo grometted sheer curtains on the rod #1 closest to the window and Deconovo blackout curtains on rod #2 away from the window and it works wonders. Curtains are easy to replace as it is simple as drawing the curtains to a side, unscrew the inner rod and push it into the outer rod and slide the curtain off. Super easy with grommet curtains like threading a needle, pocket curtains is another story lol. One of my rods did come defective where it was scratched up and does not sit flush on the mounting plate (see photo) but to return an entire rod because the wrap around part was defective isn't worth it although I hope they will send me a replacement LEFT wrap around attachment when I reach out to them.

Needed parts, contacted seller, immediately resolved.
Mine came with two of the screw bracket sliders missing. I contacted the seller and they immediately sent out the required parts. I was very grateful for this as I did not want to have to deal with returning such a bulky item. This was the easiest curtain rod my husband and I installed and we thought it would be the most difficult. Screws worked perfectly and there was a brace beam above the windows so we did not need drywall anchors. I do feel this is very sturdy- it's holding up 200" of blackout energy efficient curtains and 140" of sheer curtains behind it. I did wish there was a way of stopping the rod from separating because if you pulled too far it would seperate in the middle. Using the both rods with the grommets they to pull each other which is annoying so I might get the sheer layer without grommet holes. Very sleek and seriously easy to level. I loved that you could do all the drilling and screwing without the actual rod holders on. They just slide on after for a sleek look. Very impressed!

Great curtain rod
Love this curtain rod so far. It came with a support for the middle so there isn't a dropping issue for me. It seems to be good quality and it looks very nice. It was the only double blackout rod I could find and is exactly what I needed! Installation was very simple I like the way the wall attachments are hidden and my curtains slide very well on the rod. I have thick heavy blackout curtains on the outer bar and sheers on the inner and it supports them both well.

Very happy with this curtain rod
Sturdy. I put up 2 (so far) of the 15 of these I purchased. I have used cheap double rods before and these are soooo much better. I did not use the center bracket because my windows are narrow enough not to use them. Easy to install and the screws are hidden. The curtains wrap nicely around the window. I am very happy that I took a chance to purchase these for my whole house.
