Our cast iron hook broke soon after it was installed. I ordered this Tibres latch and it is sturdy metal and looks good too. It's strong and the door stays locked when you want it locked.

As others have said, this lock is huge, but I really like the look. My only issue was that if the square mounts were hung at the same height, you would have a bit of a gap on this type of door (it's on the inside of a bifold door - old laundry area turned (really, really) small office/guest room). That seems resolved by hanging the "eye" mount a little bit higher than the hook mount (see pic).

This is a very heavy duty and fabulous looking lock for my sliding barn door. I didn't anticipate that the lock (any lock this size) would prevent the door from opening all the way to the stop. I'm quite sad about that because I really want to keep this lock. I'm hoping to bring the door away from the wall (even more than it already is) to make room for this lock.

This is a great gate latch. I had to replace my old latch with this one because the other one kept freezing up in the winter time and I could not get the back gate open to get to the garbage can. I am a woman 85, and I installed this latch myself; it was easy and a great buy.

We use this lock on our French doors so that my toddling baby and dogs are separated during the day. I love how heavy duty it is and it's really pretty for our farmhouse themed home.

This is the solution for barn doors that need a lock, yet if you need to get anyone out from the outside, simply take a ruler or chopstick and slide it in between the door and the hook and lift up. It's a great solution for those of us who have elected to use barn doors for bathroom doors! Note: paint your trim and door first before installing!

I bought this for my backyard double 6’ wooden gate on my driveway. The landscapers continue to break the locks I have on the gate, so I opted to try the sliding barn door latch lock. Had it installed a few weeks ago, holding very well. Where I live we occasionally get Highwinds, and was worried the gates would blow open, but so far so good. Very satisfied with the purchase.

What you see is what you get. Strong little latch, reminds me of old time Western handmade hardware. In these days of cheap imitation goods, this item looks and feels like the genuine article.

This barn door hook is heavy-weight, rustic looking, and perfect. I was afraid that it would be smaller than the photo or in some way wimpy, but it is on the large side and seems very strongly made. It was just what we wanted to secure our barn door to our hallway.

Perfect extra security I was looking for. Strong with the hammered appearance that matched the other hardware. Took minutes to install, and the screws included were the perfect length.
