Perfect. I had nearly 2 foot on the roof
Perfect. I had nearly 2 foot on the roof. this took it off in less time and with a lot less effort that I would have ever been able to do with a shovel. AND... I did not have to get up on the roof! The wheels on the ends keep the edge from impacting the edge of the shingles so it doesn't do any damage. This is s took everyone should own.

Get the jobs done
I ordered this I a storm day. And it arrived the day before the second storm. I used tool this morning and just got the job done. It is super easy to get the snow out of the roof. It is fairly light weight. But the pole is strong, which empresses me. Note: I used this tool for “fresh” snow which was poured down about 10 inches last night.

Fantastic!
This is my new favorite tool. We got over 4 feet of snow in February alone (52 inches, to be precise.) I had to get up on the roof three times to shovel, the weight of snow was incredible, ice dams were forming, and the job was exhausting as well as dangerous. There was just too much to use a regular roof rake (I'm a 50-something female and have trouble lifting the traditional kind far enough up the roof to get enough snow off). This beauty arrived at the end of February in time for another 8 inches. I able to stay safely on the ground, it got the new snowfall easily plus I was able to get further up into two feet that had fallen earlier, and I wasn't exhausted when the job was done. I would advise you to hang on to the cloth as you work - this allows you to (1)keep snow from burying the cloth as it falls, (2) reduce the effect of a breeze messing around with the cloth, and (3) directing where a majority of the snow will end up - It's terrific that you can get most of the snow away from the house to avoid trouble when it melts in the spring. In addition, I found it rather delightful to watch the chunks of snow sliding down the cloth - it reminded me of sledding as a kid. The cloth can loosen from where it's attached, but you just pull the long clip up and fold the end over the wire and press the clip back in place. I really couldn't be happier with this tool. It's a real life saver!

SEEMED TO BE PRETTY WELL BUILT
SEEMED TO BE PRETTY WELL BUILT. IT'S NOT DESIGNED TO CUT THROUGH ICE OR HARD PACKED SNOW. IT WORKS GREAT ON FRESH SNOW. FAR EASIER THAN A REGULAR RAKE AND IT DOESN'T DRAG ACROSS THE SHINGLES. YOU NEED TO WATCH OUT FOR THE SNOW COMING OFF THE ROOF BECAUSE IT IS COMING FAST! YOU JUST NEED TO STAND TO ONE SIDE A LITTLE. I GUESS ABOUT THE ONLY NEGATIVE WOULD BE HAVING TO CONTEND WITH THE NYLON ROLL GETTING SNOW ON IT AS YOU WORK BUT THAT'S NOT A BIG DEAL. A GREAT PRODUCT AT A GOOD PRICE!

You won't regret this purchase!
I live in central NY, the land where clearing a roof is a necessity. I either need a roof rake or I need to get on the roof with a shovel...neither is particularly easy or enjoyable. OMG this is the best purchase I've made for my house!! Easy to put together, easy on the arms, easily cut through 2ft of heavy wet snow and it slid right off. What would normally take me 3+ hours and a lot of pain and struggling took maybe an hour and a half. Yes my arms and shoulders are still tired and achy but not nearly as bad as they usually are. Only a few cons with this... When you're ready to put away it's a little tough to get the extender pieces apart, might try a little wd-40 next time. If the wind blows just a little the nylon slide gets twisted up, I'll just have to sew something to the bottom for weight. The extenders are very lightweight which is nice but you sacrifice stability so they bow under the weight of the cutter head when you're trying to reposition for the next pass...annoying but tolerable. This has made winter just a little bit easier!

Solid product and the perfect length for removing snow on a second story roof from the ground.
Got this after a winter storm dumped around 1.5 feet over a week in Michigan and the outside temps were fluctuating like crazy. My attic is very well insulated but I was starting to get ice dams in the gutters and didn't want to allow more snow to melt/freeze making the problem worse. This worked like a charm! The pieces fit snugly and feel durable for the most part, they ONLY part that could possibly be a weak point is the part that connects the pole to the tarp (which is a thick plastic). Overall it still feels very durable and if the plastic part breaks I can easily make a steel replacement with a quick visit to Home Depot. This is easily worth the price, especially when compared to similar products that are 3x as much. Those other products usually have a fiberglass pole which would be lighter but they're also usually shorter. Speaking of weight, it's not heavy but after you spend some time lifting it and gently setting it on the roof over and over it can feel heavy. I think this can be best solved by letting it rest on the roof the entire time and move it back and forth as you would a vacuum, that way you're not constantly lifting it. The 20ft length is great, you can remove sections to make it smaller as you need. The full 20ft allowed me to clear maybe 4ft of the second story roof from the ground, which is perfect as it exposes the overhang/gutter to the sun to help prevent ice dams. I removed a section or two when I moved to clear the garage roof, which i was able to clear the entirety of. The full 20ft pole flexes a bit when lifting it, but when pushing it on the roof it's solid and easy to push. Other products of this style have the pole attached to the bottom, which i thought would be better/easier to push, but having the pole attach to the top allows you to clear snow further up the roof/closer to the roof at varying angles. If the pole is attached to the bottom then you have to be in line or above the angle of the roof, if you're below it the the pole will be resting on the gutter and the end will be lifted off the roof. All this said, I have to say there is something oddly satisfying in watching blocks of snow slide off a roof. TLDR: I spent less than an hour clearing the snow from a 2100 sq/ft house roof. Despite the cheap price this a solid product, I found several DIY solutions online that cost more than this. I would recommend this to anyone in an area that gets significant snow.

Amazed at the quality for the price
Very well built. Amazed at the quality for the price. Works great on new snow, hard when it turns to ice. In other words get after it right away and don't wait for it to ice up. Tying rope or bungee to end of slide helps control where the snow falls off. With out it just weights down the slide with snow and you have to dig or pull out of pile. You will get hit with snow but you get better at controlling it with practice. I am going to put down plastic or a tarp before I start so I can pull snow away from house. There is lots of snow on a roof and makes a big pile. Can flatten bushes. I did loose a wheel but I hit a pipe I didn't see. Made another one and got a 25 cent rod cap and it still is working great. Found the wheel I lost too on the roof.

AWESOME!
I tried this for the first time on 02/20/2019 and we had over a foot of snow buildup on the roof. There were multiple layers of snow from numerous snowstorms. Hard packed on the bottom layer and light snow on the top layer. I had attached all of the poles together at first and realized that it works best to connect only the poles needed to get it on the edge of the roof first and add the poles as needed. It worked just like it is advertised. In fact it made snow removal fun! The snow shoots off the roof in small blocks without much effort from the user. Great product and good price!

Worthwhile investment
When the snow piles up on our roof, we use this handy dandy tool to easily remove it. I have seen my neighbors pay big money to have several guys climb the roof to clear the snow. One payment and we're set. I recommend reinforcing the edges with duct tape, then there's no ripping in the cold weather. It's also doesn't perform the greatest if there's the slightest bit of wind. Otherwise, it's an excellent tool to add to your garage in snowy areas.
