They are very high quality at a bargain price
These Army Painter acrylic paints really cover well with excellent colors, I was originally looking for some flesh colored paint to paint some 1/35 scale troop models and some of the stores wanted $4 a bottle . This 50 piece kit has an excellent selection of flesh tones and is a great bargain. I used to use mainly enamel and other oil based brush paints for fine details but they would dry up in the bottle if you only use them once a year. These acrylic paints can stored a very long time

It was good, but I needed more color
I've always played miniature-based games, and after awhile you get tired of staring at little grey plastic men or metal men. You want some color. So to get into the painting hobby I picked up some paints. Then I wanted more, so I got the army painter starter kit. It was good, but I needed more color. More shades. More options. This kit has that. Tons of colors for you to choose from in one giant bundle. Price for miniature paints can run high, no matter who you go to, but having a kit with a bunch of colors right out the gate gives you everything you need to really dive into miniature painting. Plus having all them out on display lets you get more creative, trying out new colors simply because you have them.

love the dark tone
Pros. *Great washes, love the dark tone. *Best metallics I have ever used *Awesome color range for a starter set *Love the regiment brush it comes with *The paint is thin, so about 2 coats for a solid color. some would call this a con, but for new painters it makes it so much easier to hide mistakes. *I love the dripper bottles. Never going back to paints in pots. Cons. *The paints separate, I really recommend buying beads to put in the bottles. *The tones can be a little too thick when working on small details. *Dries fast. This could be a pro, but if you plan on blending you will want to use an acrylic medium Conclusion. I love this set. Great for fantasy miniatures. if you plan on using it for Syfy you may need to mix the colors a little more. For example the gold in the set is too dark for a star wars C3P0, and the tones are a little too thick for a clean R2D2.

Great value
I am a historical figure painter, and have literally hundreds of paints from most of the major painting companies. I saw this set on Amazon, and for the money, gave it a try-so far I'm very pleased with the quality of the paints I've used. I'm currently doing my first fantasy,Mobeus models Frank Frazetta's Death Dealer, and the paints have been very good. The lighter colors may need a few more coats to cover, but I always use several thin coats anyway so not a problem. Nice selection of colors, and you can't beat the price.

Super happy!
I was a little nervous buying this as I've never used this brand before, but wanted to give it a try as it was a lot cheaper than using other bulk paint products. I can truly say I'm super happy with my purchase and will definitely buy this again in the future. It mixed pretty quickly for me, the darker colors layered on with one coat. Metallics and lighter colors take a couple of coats, but that works out well. Just be sure to apply the washes evenly or it'll look streaky. The brush and the book are also a nice touch added to the kit and I'm very grateful for the book as there are a lot of different elements in this box and it gives a good rundown of everything.

Great Deal!
For $90, you can't beat the price. Quality of the paints is exceptional. I bought this set to paint minis for Shadows of Brimstone and I was very pleased with the assortment of colors, washes and effects. This is the perfect set for someone starting out (painting minis) or the seasoned painter that doesn't want to pay $4.50/bottle for miniature paint. The paint goes on smooth and requires very little effort for saturation. The paints mix well for wet blending (or shading) and the primary and secondary colors have darker & lighter versions to make shadows and highlights. They require some stirring on the palette (or a good shake) to mix the pigment, but otherwise they have great consistency and flow. A drop is all you need for most minis. The only downside I can see is the bottles do not open fully (so you cannot drop a plastic bead agitator inside) but other than that, I'd say they're perfect.

Great paints for miniatures -- good price!
Bright colors, convenient and consistent usage through dropper bottles--what more could a miniature painter wish for? At first I was a little frustrated until I figured out that the label 'shake well' on the bottles was code for agitating the bottle like a maniac while prancing around like a VHS showing of Richard Simmons (you know you've seen your mother dance like this). Once that problem was out of the way, my path towards wonderfully painted miniatures was clearly paved. The variety of paints is very good, as is the quality; albeit some paints have higher pigmentation than others, which may required several thin coats to achieve a solid color. What impressed me was the price point: the ratio of quality to price is fantastic. While there may be specify Games Workshop paints that you want for your army, I think this set would really suit most painters' needs. As such, I do wish that this set had included more varieties of washes, rather than so many shades of green, but I'll work with it.

100% worth the money.
I read a lot of complaints about packaging and quality of paint that had me worried but after receiving my paints I absolutely love them. I was painting 40k miniatures with simple hobby lobby paints and they did the trick but these are totally next level. Having all the colors really allow you to go through a wide spectrum even on little things. The metalics are some of the best I've used, the shade works great, the effects are really cool paints, an the standard paints are worth the money. You do have to shake some of them a long time to get it to mix properly but overall I love these paints. The box was a little beat up from shipping and unorganized but I took 3 minutes and color coordinated them. As for the box I don't plan on keeping it in the box long anyway since I am going to build a shelf for them. Edit: I finally dealt with the storage issue and built a shelf to hold them all. Took me probably 2 hours and some scrap wood someone was going to throw away. Makes me even happier with my purchase

Check your colors!
I opened the package and confirmed what other reviewers pointed out-the bottles are not in any type of order so be sure to check the colors! I put them in order according to the list on the back of the box and found that I got 2 Grimoire Purples and was missing Crusted Sore. I contacted the seller and they are sending me the missing bottle so everything worked out well. The coverage from the paint is great and the included paper guide was really useful in identifying what you can do with the paints, shades, etc. ***I will point out though that when shaking the bottles for the first time and then opening them, paint would immediately start to ooze out and sometimes (my bottle of greedy gold) will explode out of the bottle. So my recommendation is: open the bottle first, then screw the cap on again, then shake the devil out of it to mix up the medium/pigment.

Great little paint kit for the money
Great little paint kit for the money! I highly recommend getting the stainless steel mixing balls to go with this kit. Just pop one in and forget it! haven't had any issues with the paint so far, "used about 25 of the 50 colors" In the box has bottle holders that you can sort and put your paint back in for storage, or you can get a paint kit stand. "Vallejo Front Module Paint Stand" works perfectly to hold your collection of paint without any issues. Would recommend for Warmachine and GW products.
