These needles are great for the price. All the needles are pointy and seem very smooth. The smallest size needles feel sturdy when I used them for some finishing work. These needles have a good finish on them but I still rub them down with wax paper before their first use. I find it helps with the drag all wood needles have.

I love these needles. They are just as sturdy as any of the top name brands. The only time I have broken one is by accidently sitting on it on a soft cushion and that was an American size 2.0 which is very thin to start out. They are smooth and have the size etched into the wood on each needle

I am new at knitting so I ordered these because I needed some DPN's. These were great, I am using some smaller ones now to knit some socks which is why I ordered them. I love that they come in sets of 5, because that give me four to put stitches on and one to knit with. So many different sizes are included I was amazed and felt like it was a great price, each set at the local knitting store was $10 and they are the same quality, bamboo and smooth. This set was on sale for 9.99 when I bought it, so I was thrilled. I liked using the smaller bamboo better than the larger needles, the smaller ones were easier to handle. The larger needles did not seem to be as sharp at the point to catch the yarn as the smaller needles. The only thing that I didn't like is that they are labeled by mm and not US standard sizes. The labeling also wore off pretty quickly so I had to size and label using a permanent marker. That wasn't hard but since I am reviewing I felt like this could be an improvement they could change. They do state the metric label in the directions. Needles are marked in metric 15 sizes: 2mm(US0), 2.25mm(US1), 2.75mm(US2), 3.25mm(US3), 3.5mm(US4), 3.75mm(US5), 4mm(US6), 4.5mm(US7), 5mm(US8), 5.5mm(US9), 6mm(US10), 6.5mm(US10 1/2), 8mm(US11), 9mm(US13), 10mm(US15). They come in a large plastic bag, where each set is then in it's own plastic bag. Update March 2019 - still using thes and glad I bought them, they have been useful

As an scatterbrained knitter, I’m always losing needles. So the more needles, the BETTER. I was really hesitant to buy these cheap bamboo sets off of amazon in the beginning. But eventually I figured for the price, I may as well just buy a set and see what I think, since the reviews were mostly negative with only a couple positive reviews. I wasn’t really sure if the negative reviews were just from people having too high of expectations or what. Let me tell you, for this price the needles are AMAZING. But here’s what you need to know: 1. They will snap if you sit on them or something. But they’re about as strong as a pencil so they’re not THAT fragile. They’re not going to snap on you mid-project as you knit. 2. Quality control isn’t great. I’ve ordered many sets over the years. Some are smooth and perfect, others have some rough spots. BUT you can easily remedy that with a nail file and a tiny bit of coconut oil or wax. At this price, SO WHAT? Haha. I’m happy to spend a tiny bit of time on a few needles to get them at this price. 3. Occasionally you will find a needle that’s a little curved, but it’s never inhibited me from knitting. I use these to knit straight, just popping some point protectors on one end of the needle, so the value goes even further. I stock up on sets every so often, whenever I can’t find enough of my favorite sizes. Never had any regrets.

These bamboo double pointed knitting needles were *perfect* for my project. The wood is just smooth enough to make slipping stitches snag-free and rough enough to keep yarn from slipping off without the use of end protectors, making cabling a pleasure. My project (a cabled pussy hat) utilized a chunky wool/polyester. I would recommend these as a viable and reasonably priced for any knitting project.

I adore these DPNs. I sanded most of them just a little (some more than others) because not all are smooth enough not to snag at the yarn, but with just a little sanding they are fabulous. I like the slightly longer length as well. I much prefer bamboo over metal DPNs because the stitches don’t arbitrarily fall off. I have 2 sets because I lost my size 6’s and it was actually cheaper to get another whole set of 18 sizes than to replace the one size that I lost. I’ve enjoyed having two sets because I am not a monogamous knitter. I have many projects going at the same time. If you’re this kind of knitter, these just might delight you. Don’t forget the sandpaper though. Oh, I broke the end off of one needle (my fault) and simple sanded it to a new point and still use it. Works great.

Glad I bought these. They are double pointed and so I can use them as a straight knitting needle or double point to make things seamless. For one low price you end up with many different sizes. They are bamboo which helps keep your stitches from sliding off unexpectedly. Well made and smooth finish. They are short so, use them for smallish projects. I love using them. Great buy.

These needles are better even than I expected. I got them mostly for the large sizes - I have several sets in the smaller sizes already, but I checked out the smaller needles as well. They're quite smooth though one or two would probably need a little scrub with some steel wool or very fine sandpaper. Overall though, they seem quite durable , sufficiently pointy, and uniform within each size.

The needles I received were all really straight and all of my tips were intact with no splits or cracks. Out of all the needles, there was only one set that had a couple bumps on the tips that could easily be sanded if they are a problem. Also, the tapered part started at slightly different places on some of them. The tapering is not enough to make a difference while knitting, but they are far from uniform. I really like that there are five in each set. The needles are labeled in millimeters, but I noticed that a few sets only had 3 or 4 of the 5 marked. They seem to have some sort of coating that makes them shiny and smooth. I had no problem at all moving my work along them. I do recommend wiping them all down because, after looking them over, I had a very slight film on my fingers. I used a damp cloth and let them dry and they were fine though. Each set comes in a thin cellophane bag. Not a long term solution, since I ripped a few opening them the first time, but nice that they all came sorted. I pulled out a few of the needles that had the flattest tips and found that I was able to use them just fine since they have a good taper. Overall, it's a great set for the money and I am happy with the needles I received.

These are wonderful needles for the money. I could not afford the expensive ones and wouldn't have bought them anyway. The are so overpriced and for what? Wood sticks and some line glued on them. I ordered these for a very good price. The needles were a bit rough so I went down a got some 2000 grit sandpaper and took 15 mins and sanded them all. They are now as smooth as glass and the points are absolutely perfect. I love them.
