Works reallllly well. Second one because I didn't drain the water out of the first one when it got below freezing and it destroyed the thing. Now they come with a relief valve to easily drain the water out - so I won't be running into this problem again hopefully. Almost instant hot water - really impressed. One/off lever is hard to move - same problem as I had with the last one - but once it's turned on it works great.

I bought this again. I lost my original one to the cold because I left it outside all winter wtihout draining it. I did re-research these water heaters and migrated back to the eccotemp. I've had some decent showers with it while camping (using an RV water pump powered by a small battery using a cold mountain river as a water source). I also use it to give my dog a shower in the back yard.

So far, so good. Like the words on Amazon say about this heater, it provides instant, adjustable hot water. I’m using it in my sailboat head with metal venting I fashioned from Lowe’s. I only used it once so far but am pleased. Hopefully this will provide years of warm showers!

This performed just as expected. This is the third or fourth one of these I have purchased. I give it five stars because I know its limitation and it works perfectly for what I need. I use it as an outdoor shower and love it but you want to make sure you take it inside as soon as it starts getting really cold outside. The copper tubing is very thin and will crack if water freezes inside. I've been a little lazy about this so it's no one's fault but my own!

We bought the Eccotemp L5 to bring along on our Overlanding Adventures (A.K.A. glorified car camping), for showering and washing dishes. No more needing to heat up a pot of water for washing up. As seen in the picture, we mounted it in a large case with a 12v water pump making the setup self contained and portable. Just add water and propane! The Eccotemp L5 does an amazing job heating the water. We've been running it on the lowest flow and lowest heat to conserve both water and propane, but the water is still coming out plenty warm and plenty fast. And if you want HOT-HOT water you've got it at the twist of the dial. We've got a group trip planned soon, and we are letting all our friends know they are welcome to hot showers in the wilderness, so long as they bring their own water! In addition, the included accessories, fittings, etc. give you a lot of options for plumbing the unit. Knowing I'd need a few extra fittings for my purposes I had mixed feelings about another prevalent brand of water heater, with reviews saying the correct fittings could be hard to find. Definitely not an issue with the Eccotemp L5, the pipe threads and sizes are all easy to find at most any hardware store.

I love this heater. I have a whole house tankless water heater but it's too far from the kitchen sink. I use it for the kitchen sink. Placed it n the basement directly beneath the sink to reduce distance from heater to sink. Also the temperature of the whole house heater is set for the sower and not hot enough for the kitchen and I set the temp of this heater for the needs of the kitchen sink. Only drawback is that you have to demineralize it from time to time.

I bought and used this recently for a camping trip with a large group of friends at a site that had only a cold water shower. It worked extremely well. My only complaint is actually that water gets a bit too hot. I was concerned after reading reviews of these sorts of machines that you might need to cycle the water through a storage container to incrementally increase the temperature. We had the opposite problem. We had to keep the water temperature at the absolute lowest setting. So, I'd suggest caution with the temperature controls, as I imagine the water can be scalding at the higher setting. If you do use it in a mobile situation, like we did, I would suggest hooking to an upright dolly or cart, where you can put a propane canister below. The handle was the exact dimension to hook around the back of my dolly, so it was very easy. This heater comes with the water pump too. You'll need to make a trip to a hardware store to get all the tubing and connectors you'll need, as well as a 12v power source like marine or car battery. I highly recommend this product.

I was hesitant to purchase such a low end water heater. However it has so far (3 weeks) worked excellent! It is a little touchy on getting temps adjusted and staying adjusted. You will need to make a few adjustments during your shower. Children should be supervised carefully so as not to get burned/scalded. This unit can get very hot. It is still cool here 50-70 degreesF and I have been using the unit on very low settings. All in all well worth the money.....I went back and bought another one.

This is great, I use it to bring my inflatable hot tub up to higher temps much faster than the heater that came with the tub. This unit does get its pilot light blown out of there is any decent wind, but just flip the on/off switch and it starts over. Can raise the temp of 350 gallons 4 degrees in about 20 minutes.

Pump moves water and the heater heats well. This will not have the same water pressure as your house but good enough to clean up. I will be using this at our off grid camp and pumping water out of a 55 gallon barrel. I am also going to hook the water pump to the kitchen sink.
