I love my cast iron xmas tree stand, but it has a low water capacity and is a pain to keep full. In the past I tried to rig my own siphon system to keep it full, but wasn't successful with the components I could find. Then I found this product. It is exactly what I had in mind. Most of the negative reviews I read of this product are from people who fail to understand what it is. It did take me a couple of days to figure out the range of levels within the jug that correspond to the empty and full levels on my stand. But now I can save that info for future years. My tree this year has been a heavy drinker. Using a gallon milk jug one filling lasts just about one day. (Not a gallon of water a day. Only about 4-5 vertical inches of the jug fall in the range between my stand being empty and full.) I would like to get more time between fills, but that will require finding a suitable container that is wider so it holds more water within the necessary height range. The decorative bag is a nice touch. But it prevents seeing the level of the water in the jug. This year I just did without it. If using the bag you will have to remove the jug from it in order to check the level and refill. I'm still thinking about a solution to that. Perhaps a decorative box with a hinged side.

I hope this guy sells a zillion of these. $1-$2 in parts and basic science. Works perfectly. The bag works great to make it look nice under the tree and the kit includes 2 tops for whatever type of jug you are using( screw top or snap top.) If it does not work for you, it is user error. If you are dumbfounded by the science behind it you should go back and retake 6th grade chemistry. TIP: If you forget to fill the jug and the tree well runs completely dry you have to get some water back in the base. Throw in a cup of water or 2 if that happens and then insert the tube and clear out the air.

I liked that I didn't have to crawl under the tree to water it. It kept my tree so fresh. The only thing that would make it better would be if the gift bag had a plastic lining. I lined mine with a plastic bag so when I was filling the jug, it wouldn't drip in the bottom of the bag. I love it!!!!

I was skeptical having used a similar product, but was very pleasantly surprised at the simple design and effective tree watering. My tree drank at least 2 gallons of water over a two week period. After filling my supplied 1 gallon milk jug, I squeezed the pump about 10 times to get the water flowing and did it again every time I added water. There could be better instructions from the maker as this pumping value was a guess on my part. Trick is to make sure you have a fresh cut off the bottom of the tree before placing in water. Got my tree from Costco, 7-8' tree for $33.00!

Worth every penny! No more water spilled on the floor, forgetting to water the tree, or worrying that the dog drank all the water! This thing is GREAT!! We go through a gallon of water every 8-10 days. We can put our tree up and keep it up for WEEKS now thanks to this!!!

I followed the instructions, and it worked fine. It took more than 10 pumps to get the air out of the line, and at first I thought it was broken but then about 20-25 pumps and the air was out and it was fine. Do NOT start with a full jug if you already have filled your tree stand. It says in the instructions not to do that. It will overflow. We got it about 1.5 weeks after our tree so didn’t use it during the period the tree really sucks up the water. Just used it for last two weeks and it was great. It doesn’t come with a jug and we don’t buy jugged milk so we had to go buy a cheap jug of drinking water (about 98 cents). I’m a fan.

I was looking for a tool that allowed me to easily water my Christmas tree - I've used a funnel before, but that still required me to not overfill the base, and to know when I needed to fill it. The Santa's secret tool is very simple, yes, but solved all my problems. The clear tube is pretty long so you don't have to go crawling under the tree to see when the jug is low on water. I can also just pop off the lid, fill the jug in the sink, and pop it back on. Highly recommend!

I was a little unsure of this product after reading the mixed reviews, and yes, it’s a very simple product that I could make at home with some items from the hardware atore, but for the price and ease of setup it’s totally worth it! I have a large 12’ tree and this has been a lifesaver. There has been no overflow, we check the jig daily and fill it about every other day. It’s in the pretty gift bag close to the front so it’s easy to use. The jig is not included, but they do include two different types of kids - screw top or pop on for the different milk jugs you could use. I would definitely recommend this item. Just remember once you fill it to squeeze the bulb about 10 times to get the air out and the water flowing.

I bought this hoping beyond hope that this might keep my Christmas tree alive while I took a week long trip to Japan. The product worked exactly as advertised! I attached it to a 2.5 gallon water bottle I bought at Kroger, filled it to where it was even with the water level on my tree stand, and when I came back home, I still had water left to spare in my reservoir. One tip, though, you will need to pump it more than the 10 times that is written in the instructions to get the air out of the tube. Also be sure to watch the video that's included in the Amazon product description to be sure you understand how the product works. All in all, if you're going to be away from your tree for a lengthy period of time, this is almost a must-purchase!

Great product. Works great. Doesn't come with gallon container as some people thought in reviews. I just bought gallon of water and hooked right up. Works as described. It doesn't always keep tree stand full to the top. But always has water in the bottom. Just squeeze bulb numerous times to fill more if you like.
