Does not put any light out and creates heat. Does what it needs to do.

I have one toasty tortoise
This is a GREAT item that I use with the Fluker's dimmable clamp lamp. Since I decided to purchase the lower watt bulb (60 watt), I am able to lay this directly on the wire top of a large tortoise enclosure. It took my girl a few days to figure out that this was a warm spot but now she won't move from underneath it. This item comes with a really nice addition - a temperature gauge - and my lady is at a toasty 78 to 80 degrees at full strength (using the Fluker's lamp). Now I'm able to adjust temperature based on seasonable changes in a really easy way. I just bought a second back up bulb. Loving this new system!

Ceramic bulb came packaged nicely and it worked right away
Ceramic bulb came packaged nicely and it worked right away. It came with a thermometer which was great for us so that we can track Toothless (bearded dragon) home temp. Everything was delivered in time and as requested. Please, if you’re reading this, do not touch the ceramic bulb. It is not supposed to emit light and you will not be able to tell if it’s on just by looking at it. Just place the back of your hand close to it without touching it and you will feel the heat. If you grab it and burn yourself it’s your own fault for not reading!

Worked perfect or my chicks.
I have no complaints about this product. I ordered chicks from California and set up a brooder at home. I ordered a separate brooder lamp that was rated for a max of 150w. This 100w bulb gives off heat without light. Which is what I wanted also. So the chicks will sleep when everyone else does. The thermometer included came with a battery included. Which let me set the brooder up early enough and measure the temperature before the chicks arrived. Because of this, the lamp hasn't had to be adjusted at all. It's stayed at about 1 foot from the bottom of the brooder, indoors, maintaining about 85 degrees. I'd definitely buy it again and again.

Works Great
Use it for my bearded dragon for heat. Works great and the thermometer they give for free is a decent one.

Keeping a baby corn snake cozy
The 100 watt is clamped about six inches above the screen top on my ten gallon tank and it keeps the bottom of the tank at a perfect 80°F. I got this size so it would still be appropriate when I upgrade to a 20L. Its in a normal dome, rated for up to 150watts, and works like a charm. Well worth the price.

Good for its purpose. Nice to include a digital thermometer.

Chicks rest better
I purchased this lamp to use in an aquarium chick brooder. I have a wire mesh cover on the aquarium and use a large ceramic base work lamp with the heater bulb sitting on top of the wire mesh. The lamp is small enough to sit up in the housing without coming in contact with the wire mesh top. Many of these types of lamps state that a ceramic base is required. This particular brand did not specify that. I prefer to be on the safe side since heat lamps of any kind can cause fires if not used in the proper base. The 100 W heater keeps one end of the 20 gallon long warm enough for the chicks (I am in Florida) and they have plenty of room to move away from the lamp to regulate their body temperature. Since no light is emitted the chicks rest much better come night time. I was very happy with the price and hope it will last as long as the much more expensive ceramic lamps. Thermometer is a bonus. I may be ordering a couple more of these lamps soon.

Great for exotic birds No interrupted sleep.
I’ve only had this ceramic healing light for a few months and use it for my yellow nape Amazon parrot cage in the winter. It is so much better than the heat lamp we were using. I like it because he can’t sleep at night the way he is supposed to. I wish I would’ve known about these years ago! Would recommend these to anybody that Has exotic birds. I have had my parents since he was a baby with only some wing feathers and he is now 37 years old. By far the best lamp I have ever had. Hope it lasts. And I enjoy not having to use the heat gun to see what the temperature is in his very large acrylic cage. The digital thermometer was a nice plus I just put it out of the way Where he cannot reach it is 4’ x 5’ enclosure. I live in a very cold climate and the temperature fluctuates wildly When opening and closing doors. This was the perfect unobtrusive answer to keep my parrot at a constant temperatures

great bulb for great price.
I have this as a nighttime bulb at the basking platform in a 120 gallon tank with a single bearded dragon. It works great and keeps her warm enough even when the temp falls too much in the rest of the room. I've only had it for less than a month though so I can't speak for longevity. The thermometer is a bit off, but not enough to not use it. I also have 150W of this same bulb heating the rest of her tank when the temp in the house drops way too much for her. My central heat has been out for a week, but she is still warm!
