Just what I was looking for to cut those tough to cut items.

This chopper is so much larger than I expected. It is really sturdy and just the extra item for my kitchen that I needed. I wanted something to cut home made pizza, but this is so nice and easy to use that I have found several other uses for it. It is very sharp, so a word to the wise, don't cut your pizza or other items on your good pans or the counter. I ruined one pan using it that way, but that was just user error. They tell you it is sharp, but I didn't expect it to cut into the pan. The guard fits snuggly so you can easily store the cutter in a kitchen drawer without fear of losing a finger.

the right cutter for me.

My wife has recently been on a pizza kick and I've been "making" a number of Trader Joe's pizzas in our oven (as well as real home-made pizzas when I have the interest). I don't like the roller type of pizza cutter and my large knives aren't 12 or 14 inches in length. So, I bought this and another rocker type cutter. Both work quite well, heavy duty and easy to clean. (In fact, except for the name, they seem to be identical.) The right cutter for me.

This is the one!!

After buying a 16" pizza stone, I searched high and low for a 16" pizza cutter. No luck. So I bought this 14" cutter, and it is simply perfect! The fact is, a 14" pizza is about the largest size I'd slide onto the stone anyway. This cutter is easy to use. I just press it down through the middle of the pizza, then rock left and right to cut through to the edges. It is VERY sharp, which is why the protective cover is so important. It not only protects against your getting cut when taking it out of storage, but it protects the blade from being dulled by other utensils in the drawer. Buy it...you'll love it!

Just what I wanted

I used this last night to cut a pizza, and it worked perfectly. The pepperoni stayed in place rather than being pushed along like a rolling cutter does. It was sharp - I didn't have to press too hard. It rinsed clean with no trouble at all. I'm excited to try this on veggies and quesadillas. Update: I have since used this to cut up chives, quesadillas, and brownies with great success...this is now my new favorite kitchen tool!

Love it!

I went from cutting pizza with a wheel pizza cutter to kitchen scissors. When I saw this I had to try it. I've only used it once but it sure did make cutting the pizza much easier. I can see that it would also be great to cut brownies (if you remove from pan first), and to precut cheesecake. It will be much easier to get uniform slices. One thing that worried me was water getting into the rolled handle but it doesn't really matter because the only thing that has to be dry before putting on the guard is the blade. I would definitely recommend this product!

Excellent brownie cutter!!!

Advertised as a pizza cutter, but I got it, and use it, for brownies and bars, and it's AWESOME!!! I bake a lot and for bars that are frosted, they can be a real pain to cut. You need to clean the knife in between cuts and have to be careful not to shmoosh toppings. Unless you have a very long and wide knife, it can take multiple cuts to make each slice. This cutter makes quick work of that task and the it's sharp, so the slices are clean. I no longer dread that part of making brownies and bars. So happy I bought this!

we love it. my husband got a big green egg ...

we love it. my husband got a big green egg for christmas and he's enjoying making pizza on it. This pizza cutter is so much easier than the wheel kind to quickly cut 3 pizzas since we all want something different! It comes with a nice blade cover too to keep it safe in your messy utensil drawer, you know you have one, we all do! The blade is sharp enough to cut through a hand tossed crust with one stroke but without being scary sharp that you're going to cut off your hand! it is just the right length to cut a large or smaller pizza perfectly.

Cuts easily without disturbing cheese or toppings

What a great way to slice pizza! Who knew? I was afraid I would end up regretting spending the money and it would be just some tool I never used, but BOY, it is FABULOUS. It cut through the pizza without sawing. Just rock it through the pizza and it goes all the way through the first time no matter how thick the dough. And unlike wheeled cutters which seem to attract your cheese and toppings and take them along for the ride, all the cheese and toppings stay right where they are!! I am so happy I can't wait to have pizza again. And I look forward to using it on cheesecake, bar cookies, and brownies. Got to be easier than using a knife and putting so much pressure on one finger. So glad I bought it.

Slices a pizza in 4 quick moves!

Works perfectly! The only drawback I've seen with this pizza cutter is my 14 year old son enjoys using it so much all of our other pizza cutters are getting no work. Seriously, I think the others must be dealing with depression because since this was delivered they just lay there in the drawer. This 14" pizza cutter cleanly slices through a freezer pizza or piece of toast or even a sandwich in one quick press. We have tried to branch out on ideas of things to cut but honestly who can resist pizza? You might find yourself eating pizza too often just so you can use this pizza knife. If this happens to you there are many things you can do including making calazones, submarine sandwiches, toast, pancakes, waffles, maple bars, bagles, and if you are really wanting to use your 14" pizza cutter on something a bit more health conscious you can use it to make yourself a chopped salad (though, if you are using yours on vegetables you should know it doesn't work well on tomatoes). Seriously, this is a great pizza cutter and my son loves to use it to chop through a pizza pie in one quick crunch like they do in a pizzeria. I guess it makes him feel like a professional pizza cutter..... I really hope he grows up to have higher aspirations!

Well-made

I especially like the fact that it comes with a solid hard plastic blade protector. Other pizza cutters state in their description theirs come with a blade protector but theirs were a joke, as their idea of a protector is a terribly thin vinyl sheet that tears easily. The sleeve that comes with this one is substantial and will last the lifetime of the item. I'm thoroughly satisfied with my purchase.
