The best humidifier I have ever owned with every key feature performing at top level

This is the best humidifier I’ve ever owned. I need reliable ones to keep my nose and guitars happy. To me, the best humidifiers will have several important common factors: 1. Silent to near silent operation and, above all, a humidifier sound must never have tonal characteristics (humming vs whisper). 2. Auto shut off is a must. 3. The ability to set the desired humidity level and an onboard hygrometer to measure the relative humidity and adjust operation accordingly. 5. The ability to regulate output volume, and 6. Warm mist option. As compared with other units I’ve owned (including some that I still use), this unit receives the highest ranks along all of those 6 factors. There’s an additional, bonus feature. Strangely, it’s not advertised on the box and the manual only mentions it indirectly: the oil infuser. A little tray comes out on the side of the unit and adding about 30 drops of essential oil onto the little pad that lies in the tray will produce a very pleasant effect. The oil tray or any other parts never touch the water / the rest of the unit, so there’s no need for cleanups. The package included additional felts. Excellent humidifier.

Not bad for the price!

I’ve only owned this for a week but I’m more than satisfied with it. My pet ferret seems to love it as well. Really helps add moisture to the air when needed. My thoughts is one person mentioned it had a strong plastic odor, which is correct but that goes away after an initial rinse and running it for 6-8 hrs straight. Pretty easy to use and I LOVE THE REMOTE. Worked fine and had no trouble turning on or off a good distance away. Was impressed. NOTE TO FUTURE BUYERS: if you go to their website and enter your email they will send you a 15% off coupon to enter in Amazon. I failed to find that out till after I ordered so maybe someone else here can benefit. Even if not wasn’t a bad price and VERY Quiet !

I've tried a lot of humidifiers, and this one is my favorite... a LOT of humidity in a small package.

I have a wood stove, so dry air is a challenge, and I've had about 10 different humidifiers in the past several years, so I'm something of an expert, I guess. I've tried Vicks, Bionaire, Homedic, and some more expensive units. But I've had this for almost a month now, and I think my search is finally over... this unit has the highest output of any of the steam or cool mist units I've tried. It's really very good, in all aspects, and I haven't had any of the issues others have mentioned... it simply works, it's quiet, and cleaning isn't hard at all. The controls and the amount of precise control you have over the output is excellent, and the humidistat seems to be very accurate. When it's out of water it stops every time, and when you refill you don't have to reset all your settings... it holds them until you manually turn the unit off. I also like how small it is, and it's very easy to move it to wherever you want it. Refilling is easy, it has jsut the right amount of capacity so it's not too heavy to refill (I think it's 1.5 gal) and the directional "spouts" work very well. Iv'e been extra careful with the tank after reading of some other people's problems with cracks, and it's been fine so far. Of course, with a wood stove, you need a LOT of humidity replacement. This Levoit can raise the humidity about 5-10%, but bear in mind I'm using this in a fairly large area, 800 sq ft, which is almost twice the recommended room size for this unit... so technically this unit shouldn't be big enough. But I just put it near our seating area and it makes a big difference... I was surprised at how much more humid the area feels. I tried it in the master bedroom and it blew the Vicks unit away, and got it to 50% pretty quickly. With the wood stove going, none of my steam humidifiers could even move my humidity needle 1%. And out of all the ones I've tried, only my huge evaporitive whole house humidifier has more output than this one... but while that beast can raise my humidity about 15-20% only when on the highest setting, it's such a pain to keep clean, you need to add chemicals which I don't feel is very safe, and it's really loud... so loud we didn't use it much. I can't really think of any negatives at all... it's really a great unit. I guess if I could get 2 for the price of one it would be better, but it's eel worth the money IMO. BTW, my suggestion is to stay away from cool mist... in fact I will never get a cool mist unit again. Even using 100% pure H2O (distilled) from my reverse osmosis system, it still makes a white dust, and the chemicals I tried only reduced the amount of dust, but didn't eliminate it. They're also really hard to keep clean, and bacteria is a real problem. Plus, who wants to add chemicals to the air you breath? Check it out... I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Good for humans and pets!

This was purchased last November when I brought a kitten home from the shelter who had a bad upper respiratory infection. (Which spread to the other cats) They loved the mist and seemed to know it was helping them. I just took it out again and cranked it up, as I have a cold. Now it’s helping me too! Someone mentioned adding essential oils to the scent disk. Pet owners- please consider that certain oils are toxic to cats and dogs, so be knowledgeable before taking any risks. I’ve stopped using scented oils completely for this reason. Also, use caution with the warm mist function if this is accessible to pets or kids. I’m unsure just how hot it gets as I only run it on cool mist, but thought it was worth mentioning. Included are some pics of the cats enjoying the mist lol. (Crazy cat lady here) One pic is of the sick kitten partaking in the mist of the previous humidifier- which I ended up returning. The Levoit is so much better! The pic was just too cute to not share haha.

Finally a quiet humidifier that actually works!!

I live in Las Vegas where it is extremely dry. I also have fibromyalgia and the humidity helps me. I have had many humidifiers but this one is the best one I have had. AND on top of that it is extremely quiet which is amazing. It is so worth the cost! I highly recommend.

OUTSTANDING! - But...read this very important trick to optomize...

The quality of sleep is so much better and that equates to a more rested, stronger immune system. Superior to any old technology steamers and less electric run costs too. Well built with jumbo tank will run on high and full heat for about 8 to 10 hours. Here in Chicago, its dry in the winter. We run it all fall, winter and spring - every night in bedrooms. Important tricks - Best results when run on highese heat setting and medium to high mist level. Run a small fan pointed towards the unit from accross the room on low speed to keep the mist airborne - avoiding damp carpet or slip hazard by unit. It's super critical to carefully clean the unit weekly. Breaking up the crud from water minerals and keeping the unit clean is far easier by using Orange Citris cleaner in concentrate soak for 10 minutes. I use Zep. Run cool rince water at very low pressure dribbling water into PLASTIC water reservoir area only. Never run tap water onto the sensor or heat pad because the seals can not handle running water pressure! Never get liquids into the square fan hole!

Great Customer Service

First, I love this humidifier. We have 4 different humidifiers in our home, and this one is by far our favorite. The settings are easily adjustable, no leaks, it's stable, it's quiet, no problems. But the customer service is great. After having this product for about 6 months, it slipped from my hand after I had filled it, and cracked on the hard floor. Totally my fault. I was so bummed. I attempted to use the warranty I had purchased, but did not receive much help. They wanted pictures before they would help me. I didn't have pictures because I threw the broken plastic shards away when I cleaned up the mess I had made. I could not find a replacement reservoir online, and was resigned to the fact that I would have to purchase another. I didn't want to waste the still functioning base, so I contacted Levoit directly and asked to PURCHASE a new tank. Without any questions other than proof of purchase (a screenshot of my Amazon Invoice), they eagerly shipped me a new one at no cost. Great company, great product. The warranty I purchased is my biggest complaint.

Great humidifier

Everything I was looking for in a humidifier! Not only is the humidifier easy to use it works great!! I love the diffuser option and the remote. The only down fall I have found is that the display is bright..

Quiet, works great

Wife really likes the remote on this unit and the options. This unit replaced a standard humidifier that was big and bulky.
