At least in terms of how they work on my eyes, these are definitely meant for up close work (for me, about 8-14 inches), so ideal for middle-aged eyes trying to deal with fine print in dim lighting - say, in a restaurant, or while looking at a map in the car. They're fairly delicate, but that's part of the deal you're making in order for them to store in such a slim case. As I've only recently started needing reading glasses, I've been experimenting with several different products, and these will be kept at hand for sure.

I bought one pair of this reading glasses a year ago. I sticked the case on the back of my cell phone so I could always have it whenever I needed as I was just like nowadays people always had their phones on hand. The case with the glasses is very thin and light weight so it doesn't make my phone too bulky. However a big concern is not like the pictures and video shown on ThinOPTICS, when I put the glasses on my nose, it does not sit firm on the position (upper part of nose with bone under skin) where I have best angle to read. It is the nose bone that causes the legs of the glasses cannot clip on firmly and very easy slip off. So I can only clip it a bit lower where has no bone underneath. It turns much help but I am still better not to move my head around too much/fast. But then it limits my view through the glasses in a very low angle. I have to always raise up my head and look down to read, especially when reading newspaper or a book of larger in size. I am an Asian, I don't know whether it is because the noses of Asian and American are different shape in some points which causes my problem. I hope ThinOPTICS can improve legs/clips of the glasses, or has different design fit for Asian noses. Other than this, I regard this glasses is nearly perfect as it is very handy and useful when reading bills, cutting a check and etc. So I have just bought 5 pairs more as gift for my friends.

First of all, regardless of your eyesight now, some day you're going to need reading glasses--at least until there is a new low-cost eye implant to handle both near and far vision. And you've probably seen those people of a certain age (like me) that wear reading glasses around their neck--either on a chain or those "cooler" versions which have a magnet in the bridge to connect the two lenses. Or they have to be pulled from a pocket or purse. Well, most everyone carries a smartphone these days and these glasses are the perfect combination with the holder that makes your phone only slightly thicker. I have owned these since May. I recently took a trip and when I went to put them on, they were gone. No idea if they fell out, but likely they fell off when I was eating and I set them down and forgot them. In other words, my fault. I liked the glasses so much I bought another pair from Amazon. When I got them, I saw the "Activate your Free Replacement Glasses forever" sign-up link and went to do so. While there, there was a chat function so I asked if my lost glasses would qualify for replacement and got a positive response. So I'm getting a replacement pair for the $5 shipping fee. Very effective and prompt customer service--on a Saturday! Highly recommended.

Honestly- I Love this product !!!! Case is awesome too - I ordered 2nd pair for on the go already - they fit top to bottom on the nose // easy n quick to put on and take off and put away !!! Highly recommend customer for life

Them are awesome glasses, so awesome that sometimes I don't remember that I have them on. It don't bother me at all. Them stay attached, you can do what you normally do and it won't fall. In my case I have an iPhone case with a special clips for different utilities which I use to attach my credit card reader for my business, the case comes itself with a clip, what I did was, I attached the glasses case to the clip and I can de-attach the case anytime I want to use my reader and attach the glasses case later. See the pictures bellow. I highly recommend these glasses, everybody that see it get impressed.

Lightweight, super portable, sort of comfortable for extended use. I have these in both 1.0x (for computer) and 1.5x (for reading) strengths and they do the basic job well: visibility up/down+side/side is OK and clarity is acceptable. I have progressive lens glasses (prescription) which have a wider field of view and more of an invisible presence due to having slightly wider lenses, but the Thinoptics are still fine for daily use even though I can easily see and detect the frame. These stay reasonably well on the bridge of your nose, but I would recommend you pull them apart before placing them on - or taking them off - your nose because they rely on an abrasive surface to help stay in place: if you scrape that surface on your skin by trying to slide the glasses on or pull them off, your skin will start to get tender and you'll want to avoid these glasses until that area heals up a bit. Their case is neat in that you put in one end first and then slightly bend them in the middle to fit the other end inside, then push the glasses fully down to protect them completely. You can toss the case in a glove compartment or backpack without stuff getting into the tight case and damaging the lenses, I've noticed. I recommend putting the case somewhere convenient, because this way you avoid placing the glasses down somewhere that they might get scratched through always placing them back in the case. At my computer desk, I have a Thinoptics case adhered to the edge of a shelf holding my monitor, just above the keyboard - my glasses go back in the case whenever I leave the desk, not on a table top or similar. However, the few times I've left these glasses on a horizontal surface and not placed them in the case, they haven't gotten damaged: the frame is thicker than the lenses, so they don't get scratched when the glasses are laying on a flat surface. These are good for reading books or laptop work, desktop computer monitors and jobs around the house which require some magnification - though, if you are sweating too much, these will get a bit slippery at times and need readjustment. The abrasive nose piece helps to keep the glasses on your nose even when sweating, but they can still slip off if not careful in that situation. They are very lightweight and clamping pressure is acceptable, though noticeable. You get used to it but that feeling of my nose bridge being grabbed doesn't really go fully away while they are on. Overall, these have been an improvement for my situation, because I have nerve issues near one ear and can't wear glasses with arms for very long - as a substitute to regular glasses, these are doing the job for me. I tend to take them on/off during the day to give my nose bridge a chance to relax from the abrasive surface and it has never gotten very bad.

These are well worth the price just for the convenience. I must have 10 pairs of reading glasses sitting around but often find myself without them, particularly in a restaurant. These stick to the back of my iPhone and are unnoticeable. I used different double sided stick tape than what was shipped with them and have had no issues at all with them coming loose. I bought a second pair for my hubby's android phone. UPDATE: I've had these a little more than six months, so I wanted to revisit my review on these. I still love them! I love that when I forget my regular reading glasses, I still have these, as my phone is always with me. I have only one issue. Over time, they have gotten scratched up by being taken out of and placed into the plastic case they are stored in. It has started to affect how I see through them. The pair I bought for my husband also has the same type of scratches. The is the only drawback of having these. I have continually recommended these to people but have warned them about the scratching. If they come out with a case that is lined with felt or some other soft material, I would probably purchase another pair. I'm attaching a photo of how the scratches look.

So far they are really great. I was surprised that the lenses are of good quality. They are nearly as good as the prescription ones I have. They fit nicely in the case and I hope the flexy-spot isn't going to break on the glasses. I've had reading glasses without the bows before and these stay in place very well. It's nice having access to them without wearing a pair around my neck all the time. The other cool thing is that I can put them on in front of my regular prescription glasses. On demand sort-of bifocals. Will update if they break or I have any issues with them. ######## UPDATE as of 12/21/2017 ############## *** 4 months later the nose pieces broke off. They catch on the case, if you are not always mindful of it, and bend backwards to eventually break off. It would be better if the nose pieces attached on both ends instead of just one IMHO. I cut the nose pieces off with a dremel and then used Gorilla double sided picture mounting tape and some rubber spacer/straps. The fix is quite comfortable and, as long as you cut the pieces the same width as the glasses, it all fits in the case very well. Not sure how long it will last, but it was cheap and easy. We'll see. ***The tape did not work. However, Sugru to the rescue. Used a little sugru where the nose pieces were and formed nice and comfortable nose area. They stay on fine too.

I had perfect vision for almost 49 years. Now I'm coping with glasses. I've bought around 10-15 pair in the last year or so. I've lost a few pairs. The biggest problem is I often don't have them when I need them. When I saw these I thought they would be great backups to the regular pair I try to keep up with. I've only been using Thinopitics for 2 days and they are already my primary pair. I keep thinking I should get another pair, but I don't need another pair. I almost always have my phone handy and therefore my readers are always handy. It's so convenient to put them away in the case attached to the phone I can't see loosing them. They have a lifetime warranty too. I'm a very happy customer!

UPDATE - I contacted ThinOPTICS directly for a replacement pair. I was contacted again within hours, very clear and easy instructions were given on how to arrange the replacement. And the FREE replacements arrived yesterday. I will continue to buy these again. And recommend owning a few pairs to keep in different places. Now a Five Star rating. Very practical product backed up with excellent customer care. ORIGINAL review - I have owned two pairs for about a year, and while not a daily user I am a frequent user. And I have been a strong advocate and evangelist telling many other people how much I love these glasses as spares for dark restaurants and similar situations, where I don't normally have my full reading glasses with me. One pair has recently broken in a similar location other reviewers have noted. (Please see photos). So let's see how the Guarantee process works, which could raise this back up to a Five Star rating.
