Compact & Sturdy

The SONGMICS Entryway Bamboo Shoe Bench 2-Tier Shoe Rack Organizer delivers as described. While it seems smaller in person than in the photos online, the dimensions are clearly stated in the description. While you can fit six pairs of shoes on the lower racks, it is best suited for small to medium footwear. It might make a nice storage unit for other items as well. I would not suggest sitting on this as a bench when putting on shoes if you weight much over 150 pounds. While the bamboo fabrication seems fairly sturdy, the top layer isn't made of the thickest material. It feels lighter than the stated 8.8 pounds. It assembled fairly easily but it took a little muscle to get the final screw holes lined up when attaching the final shelf. It took about 20 minutes to piece together after unpacking the legs, top, and two shelves. The only tools needed were included -- an Allen key and a small wrench. The bamboo is stained an attractive rosy brown that should hide shoe dirt well. I would have preferred natural bamboo but this version had better price point, so I decided to save a few dollars and purchase this one instead. I took photos to see how it would look best in my home. If you're looking for a petite shoe bench or organizing rack for a small space, then I think the SONGMICS bamboo unit is a good choice. ~ Kort

Just right for my space!

I had looked for a shoe bench for some time, but had trouble finding one that would fit in my space. If you have limited space, this is the shoe bench for you. I love the size and the color. It was extremely easy to assemble and seems relatively sturdy for its size.

Itty bitty excellence!

Ordered this for my wife, assembly was somewhat time consuming for such a small object. Connections had to be back threaded to prevent cross threading and constantly realigned until threading would begin to start joining the connections together. Seems to be very sturdy, I like it!

Great little sturdy benches

I bought two of these benches for a very small entry way off my garage. They came very well packed. Very easy to put together. About 20 minutes each. One holds about six pairs of shoes. 3 on each shelf. They seem very sturdy when put together. My husband is slightly over 200lbs and he sits on them no problem.

Great shoe rack, that even a toddler can help assemble...

This is an awesome shoe organizing bench that the whole family can use. When researching and shopping for a shoe bench this one definitely caught our eye, due to the material used in construction and the weight allowance of the bench. Some of the other type of shoe benches that were considered are completely enclosed and require much more work to have access to the shoes. Our toddler was more than thrilled when this arrived and was very helpful in the assembly process. If memory serves, he put half of the screws in while I was doing the other half, and I only needed to tighten all of them up. Basically, a toddler was able to help put this together, so you should be able to as well. We have used ours to store quite a few different types of shoes and the only thing that it cannot store are boots that are above the ankle. Putting on and taking off shoes is easy while using this bench. The shoe organizer helps to keep most all of our footwear off of the carpeting when we are at home. It can support the weight of an adult and toddler at the same time, and makes putting shoes on a toddler much easier. Also makes a great parking structure or racing field for little cars. The bench has also been moved into our kitchen, next to the counter, to allow our toddler to help with making homemade pizza, cookies, washing dishes and other kitchen tasks. The bench is deep and wide enough to not need to be as concerned about your little one moving to another area to reach for something as you would if they were on a standard step stool. (Yes, there is a parent directly behind him in our picture, just out of frame.) If you are considering a shoe bench and/or organizing rack, as well as a kitchen stool for a toddler while baking or doing kitchen tasks, then this is definitely a good way to go! Perfect, built it myself before my husband got home though I did have to google illustrations because instructions were not clear on how to build and I had never seen some of those nuts with holes in them. I have a small entrance, 5 adults living (3 adults college age) in home. Helped tidy up the entrance. You can sit on it to put your shoes on, I weigh 130 pounds.

Hands down this is the best furniture of this type we’ve ever bought. We have a very small bathroom at our lake house and I needed extra storage that was under 18” high and would accommodate storage baskets. With an inexpensive price tag, we weren’t expecting much. Wow, were we ever surprised! It was the easiest thing to put together we’ve ever bought. My hubby had it assembled in 10 minutes flat. All the holes lined up and bonus, the screws are black also so they blend in nicely. When I put in place, I fell in love. It is so versatile, I’m buying another two. It looks great as a chair end table, a plant stand and of course, a shoe organizer....there’s so many ways to use it! I highly recommend this piece. Recommended for tight spaces--small and solid.

I needed a small, narrow storage bench for my bathroom and eventually realized that a shoe bench would work. This one came in the right color, size, and price. Even for a novice like myself, it was relatively simple to assemble, although I do wish the visual instructions were a little more detailed in terms of how to place the screws and bolts. I figured it out how to do it, though, in under an hour. The only downside was a very musty smell when I opened the Songmics carton. I soon found that came from the paper carton of screws and little wrenches which had apparently gotten wet(?!) at some point and was now moldy (see photo). The bamboo wood seemed unaffected and nonsmelly, although I carefully cleaned the screws and the wood just to be sure. End result is that it fits my space perfectly!

Arrived very quickly, went together in 15 minutes, all the hole lined up, the screws are nice and the bamboo is very fine. It will be used by our shower. Looks great!

I bought it on a whim and now my life has improved 900% because of this shoe bench. I live in a small apartment where space is of the essence and this shoe bench fit exactly where it was supposed to--- like it was made specifically for this small bit of my hallway. What were the chances? Shoes are no longer flung about but are organized and the extra space on top of the bench is awesome. It took one person maybe 40 minutes to put together, but someone actually skilled at it would take way less than that. The instructions were clear and I couldn't be more happy.
