Not a magic bullet, but it does work....not messy like traps, works better in winter as that is the time they head indoors more looking for food, works but not as good in summer as I figure there's plenty of other things they would rather eat more readily available in summer....once in while will find dead one on floor, poison got to them before they could get outside.... "their natural instinct is to go outside to die" as per the professional Exterminator told me, and this is what he said they use. They breed every 3 weeks so it helps control them but you never can eradicate them. One thing I figure I would mention, if they have a good grip in your house, get this stuff! One night I woke in the sleep and instinctively sat up and slap one off my neck. I was telling one of my friends from Mexico about it and he showed me these scars he had that he claimed was where mice gnawed on him when he slept outside and in barns....he said their saliva has a numbing effect and they lick your skin before they start gnawing....that's when I started using this stuff then get the steel wool and plug up any holes you find. They are much worse than what most believe.

I used to have a problem with mice (field mice, aka voles) in my garage in the winter. Nothing worked. I tried snap-traps with peanut butter and store-bought bait, but the mice ignored it. Then I bought this stuff. I set out the first bait station, and while I was still in the garage setting up the next station, I could hear a mouse munching at the first. Within a few weeks, no more live mice. The only downside was discovering dead mice every now and then, and the smell (which dissipates in a couple of days) when a mouse dies in an unreachable location (like inside the wall). I stored the leftover bait in the bag in the garage (top shelf of a metal wire rack). The following year, no mice. Nor the year after. Eventually I discovered that a gang of greedy mice had scaled the shelves and stolen the bag. I found it across the garage behind a cabinet, bag ripped open, and all the bait eaten -- nothing but a few seed shells left in the bag. I guess that explains why I hadn't seen mice in a few years. When the mice eventually returned, I tried the snap-trap and bait from the same manufacturer, but the mice ignored the liquid bait. When I bought more of this stuff and put a station side-by-side with a snap-trap, the mice pushed the snap-trap out of the way in order to get to this stuff.

I had a few rats getting in my attic and back storage room. I sealed off all the holes I could find and left a few of these baits around in the attic and back room, using small plastic containers. In a few days all activities stopped.. All gone. I still have three traps set for monitoring, so far all clear.. This works as a blood thinner after the mice and rats eat and then drink.. becareful the rates may die in your walls and they will stink for a few days.. so I recommend getting a small box about the size of a shoe box and cutting two hole about 4" round and putting five of these baits in there and should be done.. I used two small plastic containers from Walmart.. worked good..

My neighbor's bird feeder attracts the rats and mice by the hundreds. Unfortunately, I've had to buy Tomcat blocks for several years due to the bird feeder. Unfortunately, the rodents get into my outdoor tool shed in search for other goodies. I had to seal my attic at no small cost. And, if this continues, the rodents will attract other predators including snakes. Tomcat poison blocks kill the rodents dead. The little plastic mouse traps are too small for rats, but work well for the smaller mice and keep dogs and cats from getting to the poison blocks. If you have a pet cat, dog, or small child, use caution as the Tomcat blocks are deadly. It's best to get rid of bird feeders, as the birdseed is an attractive nuisance for rodents.

Very effective in a few days found it this morning very happy it's finally dead it was chewing up our walls.

Does exactly what it says... excellent product for home and farm. We’ve solved the occasional autumn, winter home seeking mouse, problem in our home, shed and barn with product for many years, and done proactively, haven’t seen a mouse since the first year we started using it.

A few cute little black mice had moved into my kitchen, living room, and bedroom. I ordered the tomcat rodent cakes with a pet proof container. Well, the container for the cakes would not open for me, so I just placed the cakes underneath the stove, under the cabinets, desks, bed, stove, etc.--places where I saw plenty of rodent poop, but where the dog could not reach. During the first night, I did not hear any more rodent sounds. I checked the rodent cakes, and it was apparent that they had been nibbled at. Over the next several days, I heard the noise of one mouse off and on, but within the week that noise had stopped too. I haven't seen any mice scurrying about now that the cakes are in place. I do smell a faint odor--maybe a mouse died in the house and I just haven't found it yet--I don't know.

These work great and are literally the same poison used by the exterminator that comes to my house once every few months. He told me that it works by dehydrating the rodent and is guaranteed to kill them once they've ingested it AS LONG AS THEY DON'T EAT DOG FOOD AFTERWARDS. I think he said that the dog food has potassium (can't remember for sure) added to it which acts as an antidote to this poison. Otherwise, what makes this so awesome as a poison is that if the rodent eats it while inside your home, they will then get dehydrated and actually leave your living area to look for water... so they will theoretically die outside. He says that no matter how much water they drink, they will still die-- as long as they don't get to any dog food first.

Purchased several of these and placed them around in my garage. After about a week I found two dead mice outside the garage and looked at the bait and saw that it had been nibbled on. Would definitely recommend for controlling mice if you don't have an outdoor cat to take care of the rodent problems.

Had rats in my attic, bought this, opened the attic stairs threw a couple of these up there, and went on with my life. A few bays later i smelled something, look in the attic and found two dead rats, one about 5 inches long, the other 3 inches or so. They normally would leave the attic looking for water, but my A.C. unit is up there and has a small leak of water, they died beside the leak.
