My Wife Loves This! Happy Wife, Happy Life!
Cell Phone Holder for Car, Car Phone Mounts for iPhone 7 Plus, Dashboard GPS Holder Mounting in Vehicle for Samsung Galaxy S8, and other 3-6.8 Inch Universal Smartphones and GPS - Black My wife insists on keeping her iPhones in LifeProof cases. We've tried so many car mounts so she can use the GPS on her phone while being hands free. Articulating windshield mounts. Articulating mounts on the dash. Vents, cup holders, on and on. I was digging around on Amazon and saw this beauty. I've tried everything else. Installation is easy. Get behind the wheel and position the unit on the dash. Best if you place your phone in it to get your viewing angle right. I heated up the car since it was pretty cold out! I just marked one edge of a corner with some chapstick. Scrub the surface with and alcohol pad. Peel the backing off and placed the unit down. I pressed it down and held it for about a minute. Done. It holds her iPhone 7 in a LifeProof case and it held my iPhone 7 Plus in an OtterBox Commuter Series case just to give you an idea of what sizes it can accommodate. The units texture matches the dash. We'll see how it'll hold up once the sun hits it through the summer. So far I'm impressed.

Works great for holding your mid-ride snack!
If you’re anything like me you’re sick of your banana bouncing all over your car during your morning commute. This Voguetech banana retention system puts an end to banana-related injuries for you and your passengers, and it will make sure you get to your destination without loosing ANOTHER one out the window. The spring loaded top grips firmly enough to hold your Musa acuminata in place, but is still soft to the point that it won’t bruise even super ripe examples. For less than $20 you could effectively cut your yearly banana losses in HALF. As you can see by my photo, the base sticks well to a textured dash. I haven’t tried it with a plantain yet, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work just as well. It would probably even work with English cucumbers! I’m willing to bet this retention system could have other uses, but I’ve been so busy eating properly transported bananas I haven’t tried any.

Almost gave it a one star like a few others
Almost gave it a one star like a few others. Why? because I missed an important point in the instructions that others are missing as well. Once you remove the sticky you MUST PRESS firmly to create the needed suction for it to stick. I suspect that many who complained about it not holding simply did not understand what to do. Now the product works great and the low profile is ideal for me since I now have total visibility without obstructions on or near the windshield.

So far so good!
We just purchased a 2015 Chevy Silverado. Of course the Nav chip wasn’t included so we had to rely on our cell phones for navigation. Originally I didn’t think it would be an issue as we had been using a vent cell phone holder in our last vehicle. After transferring the holder over to this truck we noticed it was an extremely tight fit on the drivers air vent. With the shift lever being on the steering column we would bump our phones anytime we needed to shift into gear. We both have iPhones, a 6 and 6s. So we moved the holder over to the passenger vent. The vent slats are vertical in this truck compared to horizontal in our last one. Needless to say our phones and holder would occasionally go flying. So the search was on for a new holder. With the design of this truck we were limited to what we could use. After doing a lot of research I decided to try this holder. I am very glad I did. So far it has worked great. It holds both our phones with ease and will also hold our Garmin GPS. The only slight issue I have noticed is the holder will jiggle a little on rough roads. This truck has an off road suspension so the ride can be stiff. Also I think we placed the holder a little too close to the edge of the dash. The area is not completely flat so the holder is raised up slightly in the middle where the sticky part is at. The slight motion is not enough to bother me yet but I always have the option of pulling up the holder and moving it. If the area would have been perfectly flat I don’t believe we would be running into this. I’d highly recommend this holder as it helped solve where to put our phone.

As near perfect a cell phone holder as you can find
This cell phone holder is exactly what I have been looking for for years. I have been using one that stick on the windshield via a suction cup. It fell off periodically. We also had to remove it when my wife drive my car, because she is shorter and it obstructed her vision. On the other hand, this holder lies almost flat on the dash when not being used (it's maybe 1/2 inch high). Using only one had, I can hold my iPhone, AND open this holder and insert the iPhone. It hold the phone securely (I have an iPhone 7s Plus, so a fairly large phone) and at a good viewing angle. If you read reviews, you will see that the only real complaint some people have is difficulty mounting it on the dash. I used 3 3M Command Strips and mounted it. Clean the dash thoroughly where you intend to mount the holder (I used an alcohol wipe), let it dry completely, place the Command Strips on the holder, then peel and mount on the dash. Push down hard for a couple of minutes, particularly directly on top of where the Command Strips are placed. Then let it sit overnight before using it. I did this a month ago. I use the mount every day, and the it has held securely ever since.

This is such a great cell phone holder
This is such a great cell phone holder!! I absolutely love it!!! It mounted nicely to my dash, and the textured look of it blends right in. It's very secure, I have had it on over a month, and even on 90 degree days when my car is in the sun, this hasn't lost its grip or loosened at all. The adhesive is very strong. The clam-shell design holds my phone securely and I love that it doesn't have to be manually adjusted to fit my phone like other holders I've had. You just lift the top, pop the phone in and it's a tight fit. It closes down tight and has a very low profile when closed. I have a wallet style cell phone case, and find my LG G4 phone fits better if I take it out of that case first (although I have kept it in, too, and it still fits) but it would be fine with any regular style fitted case. I would definitely recommend this and will be sure to buy another one for my next car!

Works well. Stays in place.
I like it and when it lays flat to close, it blends in well with my dashboard. Looks like it's apart of the car amenities. Doesn't block view. Adhesive backing stays in place as well. The air vent type backings didn't work for me. Glad I found this as an option.

A Truckers Review.....
If you having problems gettin it to stick to your dash, make sure you have removed the plastic circle covering on the bottom. If you have armour-all or the like on your dash use rubbing alcohol to clean the spot where you want the mount to be at. If you didnt clean the area first and it wont stick then wash the the bottom of the unit with soapy water and rinse then air dry.... it will become sticky again, clean the dash amd reinstall. Ive used this in my 2011 Chevy Silverado with no issues. Stays where i put it and holds like it claims. Wish it was still available as i would buy it for my Semi Truck since no others seem to stay even the bean bag ones...

It feels more like one of those sticky hand toys you get in ...
I’ve had this on my dashboard for a few weeks now in the hot summer sun of Texas and have no complaints. I haven’t noticed any residue left behind by the sticky bottom. It feels more like one of those sticky hand toys you get in the quarter machine than it does a sticker with glue. It blends in well with my dash, is flat and unobtrusive, stays put, and holds my phone nice and snug. I use an iPhone 6s. Just make sure you put your phone in before you start driving because it takes 2 hands to open the clamshell and insert the phone, in my experience.
