- Smart Lighting: Get started by connecting the included Sengled Smart Hub to a 2.4 GHz wi-fi network. Turn the lights on/off, dim or brighten and set schedules using the Sengled Home app (iOS/Android).
- Voice Control: Connect your Smart LED Starter Kit to Alexa or Google Assistant and control your lights via voice commands.
- Create Scenes and Routines: Set scenes or put your lights on a schedule, whether at home or away
- Energy Efficient: Monitor electricity use (kWh) with the Sengled Home app. Sengled Smart LED bulbs use 80% less energy than incandescent lighting.
- Expand Your Smart Lighting: The included Sengled Smart Hub supports up to 64 Sengled Smart LEDs, including Multicolor and White A19 bulbs, sold separately.
- Bulb needs to be in pairing mode before being added to the hub. Element bulbs work best when they are within 120 feet (35 m) of the hub. This is under ideal conditions; obstructions, building materials, electronic interference and a variety of other factors will impact the actual distance the bulbs can be from the hub. In wireless mode, the hub needs to be within the Wi-Fi range of your router

Home Automation on the cheap (but good)
These are a great product. Imagine smart LEDs for > $10!! The temp is like a soft white 60 watt IC bulb. I ordered the kit with the hub and 4 more Classic whites, but later added Samsung SmartThings Hub. Integration with both was easy. A tip on pairing with ST: upon pairing all bulbs, do it in the same room with the hub. To get the bulb in pairing mode, use a lamp that can be switched off/on 10 Times quickly. Remember what you name them and then move them to the room and fixture assigned. Once I did that I had no problems pairing and setting up on ST. I also added the bulbs and scenes to Google Home w/o problem and now use voice control with Google Home devices (or Google assistant App on my phone in rooms that don’t have a Google Home smart speaker). Sengled also plants a tree for each bulb you buy and they even sent me a discount for future orders which will make these even more affordable.

... 1) Unscrew existing light bulb 2) Screw in Sengled smart bulb 3) Say "Alexa
Easy-peasy with Echo Plus (which has built-in Zigbee hub) 1) Unscrew existing light bulb 2) Screw in Sengled smart bulb 3) Say "Alexa, find devices" 4) Alexa says it might take a minute 5) Wait 30-60 seconds 6) Alexa says it found the device and gives it a default name 7) Open Alexa app on smartphone 8) Rename device (such as "back porch light") 9) Say "Alexa, turn on back porch light" 10) Light turns on 11) Kids are amazed Also: * Create "routines" in Alexa app to turn lights on and off based on a schedule * Can control dimming (50%, 37%, etc.) * Brightness - brighter than the 60-watt bulbs that were in the coach lights outside * The lights are in covered spots outside and the weather here isn't severe, so can't speak to weather resistance of the bulbs

The lights work great and do sync with my Echo Dot
The lights work great and do sync with my Echo Dot. Few things to know when purchasing this setup. 1) It is not as straight forward as some others that have built in hubs at the base of the light bulb. 2) The hub included in this set needs to be connected to your internet connection via wifi or ethernet cable into your router. 3) The names of the bulbs cannot be changed, or at least I have not found a way to change them. This can be an issue if you are trying to tell Alexa to turn on/off a specific bulb. 4) In the Sengled APP I setup each bulb as a group and Alexa had no problem with my voice commands for on and off/ 5) You can also setup schedules for each bulb to turn on and off at specific times/multiple different times in the morning and evening. The instructions provided are fairly clear, except for the Alexa voice command part. That I had to figure out on my own. Hope this review helps the next person shopping for a lighting system like this.

Love them
So in addition to buying the starter set I also purchased four bulbs. Let's start with the set up, the bulbs in the starter set come pre-paired so that's a no brainier. Pairing up the additional bulbs was a breeze, just scan the bulb give it a name and your done. I used these bulbs for a day and knew I needed two more. I was using bulbs from TP-Link in my living room lamps. The Sengled bulbs are brighter and about one third the cost. Naturally the TP-Link bulbs had to go. Down load the Sengled skill to Alexa if you have her. Alexa will operate your lights, allow you to group them and dim them should you choose. Don't believe the reviews that say doesn't work with Alexa, if you have the Sengled hub she works just fine. Now the bad news, you need the Sengled app to pair and name your bulbs. The app is a little twitchy. You name your bulbs and have to select a scene photo. Do it right away, if you don't I haven't figured out how to go back and do it. Oh there's an option for it, but it doesn't work. It simply won't let me do it. There is also an option to take my own photo, it just won't let me assign it. Trying to go back to the file photos kills the app. This is a very minor fault that you'll never notice if you assign the photos from the get go.

Great bulb!
For the price, I admit I didn't have high expectations. I was wrong! This is a great bulb! I didn't bother with the Singled hub or app, just paired it directly to SmartThings. It paired quickly and was recognized with full functionality natively, no DH needed. The bulb is super responsive - switches off and on quickly with the SmartThings app as well as via Alexa. I automated the bulb with an open/close sensor and it is just as responsive to sensor action. The bulb is in my attic, literally as far away from my hub as possible on my 3 story home, with no signee repeaters in between but no issues with connectivity. I'm very impressed! Compared to Hue (which I also have in my ecosystem) these are superior in every way, for a basic non-tunable dimming bulb.

Best Smart Bulb Around That Connects to ALEXA With a Hub.
I have purchased several of the Sengled light bulbs and have not been disappointed. Not only are they the least expensive bulbs of its kind, they are also well made and bright. I use mine with Alexa to light different rooms in my house. The set up is quite simple. You do need a hub in order to connect to Alexa. You can either use the Sengled hub or the Samsung Smartthings. Since I used the Smartthings, I did not need to download the Sengled app. You do need the app if you use their hub. All I had to do was screw them into the fixture I wanted to use, turn the light on, open Smartthings and ask it lo look for devices and within a matter of short seconds, the bulbs were indicating that they were connecting to the hub and viola, I was done. Once the bulbs appeared in the Smartthngs app, you can rename them to fit your needs. I named some of my bulbs "hall lights" because that is where I placed them. Connecting them to my Echo dot was also simple. All I did was have it look for device and they immediately appeared. now I can just turn them on and off by asking Alexa. The bulbs are also dimmable. You may either dim them on the Smartthings app or ask Alexa to dim them to 25% as I did or whatever you require. I do have to say that I found the bulbs to be very bright, and that is not a bad thing. Better too bright and you can dim than too dim that you cannot make brighter. Comparing them to the Cree lightbulbs that are equivalent to these, I much prefer the Sengled because from my experience, they were easier to connect to the hub. I had a heck of a hard time connecting the Cree to Smartthings even when the lamp was right next to the hub. I have also purchased TP-Link bulbs as well. The benefit with those is that you do not need a hub to connect to Alexa, but if you already have a hub that is compatible with the Sengled, I would highly recommend that you get the Sengled, simply because of the price. That my friends is the best part. I have not found a better priced bulb like this than the Sengled. As of this writing, they are $8.99!!! The Cree is more and the TP-Link, much more. I cannot say enough good things about these bulbs. Highly, highly recommend!

excellent kit
I am very impressed with this kit and price of bulbs. the connection was super easy but I had one issue which almost made me to return it and I am glad I spent a bit more time and figured it out. I wish documentation was a bit more clear. I placed the hub initially in location A, wired over ethernet. the bulbs were outside maybe 50-100ft away - bulbs and hub were all in a strong wifi range as I have a pretty powerful router (and hub was wired anyway). One of bulbs had intermittent issues - I would turn on/off but a lot of time it would not. I decided then to move the hub closer to the bulbs and bingo! issue was solved. I contacted support and they explained that the bulbs are not actually using wifi signal - they use zigbee signal, transmitted by hub. You need to make sure to place the hub close enough to the bulbs. You can actually check reception in the app under devices menu. they use the same icons for signal strength and do not explain this in the doc that it is actually not the wifi that is used by the bulbs. Another feature I wish they had is to add randomness to the schedule which will be very handy for people going on vacation and make it look like someone is still home. And also ability to determine geolocation and adjust schedule based on sunset / sunrise. One more minor issue is that I was not able to change the picture of the scene. Other than this I am very happy with the hub and app and highly recommend it for the price

It was me. Going to keep Cause it’s awesome!!
Update 3: This is an awesome product. I was experiencing dementia/Alzheimer’s symptoms as a side effects of a medicine. Once those issues went away this thing was a breeze. I use it all the time. I have it connected to my google home. That was so simple I almost fell over. Peace out and floor it. Update: I have a very powerful WiFi router. So I put a longer cat5 cable on the hub to get it 10’ from the router. That resolved all the network timeout issues. There is a ton of information that you need to find online. The instructions, IMHO, are not complete. Update 2: I am keeping this. I still cannot connect it to my kindle. I am looking at buying an echo. So I'm hoping that will resolve the connection problem. But I love the wake up feature. It starts up dim, then brightens up over time. For this reason alone I would buy it. I love the scheduling too. No longer come home from work to a dark house. Improvements needed: 1. Upgrade it to operate on 5 GHz 2. Increase the amount of information in the instructions or put a link to a webpage. 3. Increase the font size. Jeez please 4. Include a longer cat5 cable or warn them about setting it to close to a powerful router. 5. Fix the connectivity issues to a Kindle. I still cannot add it to my Kindle Fire that I bought a few weeks ago. Will try that Saturday. I’ve spent way to much time trying to get this to work. It only runs on 2.4GHz WiFi. So I’ve switched all my devices to the slower bandwidth. Got them working from my phone. Sort of. The writing on the bulbs is so small. So I put each bulb in a different zone to see which bulb was which. Huge mistake. I guess You cannot reassign bulbs. I deleted one bulb and went to add it only to constantly get a connection time out error. I’m literally 6 feet from the router and hub in line of site. After 6-7 attempts to add the bulb I gave up and decided to connect it to my kindle and Alexa. Kindle keeps getting an error trying to find devices. Ok it’s 15 feet away now. Also says I need to update my Alexa App but there is no update available. I’m going to try again Saturday on my day off. If it’s still this much trouble it’s going back. If you do get this. Get a magnifying glass to read the tiny print in the directions Oh yeah. I clicked on the Sengled support link in my email. That didn’t work either.

Great buy and would highly recommend!
Outstanding buy! This was my first time using any home automation device. I had it and my new Amazon dot working in about 30 minutes. The Sengled hub was easy to connect to my router, literally just plug it in. Setting up the hub in the Sengled IOS app was simple as can be. The app can be downloaded in the apps store for free.. The bulbs were easy to connect through the app. I did set mine up with Alexa, which was rather simple to do. Don't name your bulbs the same like I did, as you will have to rename them for things to work right. If I would not have done this, I truly think I could have had the setup done in 15-20 minutes. While it's cool to have the voice activation with Elexa, I like the options of the Sengled app the best, with the abilities to set on/off times to fit my schedule. I love the ability to have control of my lighting when I'm away from home through the Sengled app. I hated leaving my house "dark" when I was gone on trips. Now it at least give the appearance that someone might be home with the lighting coming on/off at set schedules. I also have the ability to turn lights on/off through the app when away. When I was looking at which home automation devices I'm wanting to purchase, I noticed that most brands have about 10-15% reviews as 1 or 2 stars. The thing I noticed is most of those buyers either didn't understand what they were buying, or didn't fully understand how to install the device. So the best advice I can give, is be an informed buyer! Watch the Sengled sponsored youtube video's for setting up the the devices (app, hub and bulbs). I watched them multiple times before hand and it help in getting thing setup correctly. Simple Simple Simple! I also like that they plant a tree for every bulb purchased! Yes, it's a little bit of a sales gimmick. But one I like non the less!!!

Great smart home addition!!
So far bulb meets and exceeds expectations. Paired quick and easily with Samsung Smart things hub and with Echo! Plenty bright enough for most lamps and secondary lighting sources. For $10 a bulb I'll be loading up on these!
