I was almost to the point of getting rid of my iPad before I needed to travel without my work laptop for two weeks. I installed our secure email app, added the Brydge, and took off. I have had an 11" MacBook Air in the past, and this combination reminds me of why I liked that computer so much. (I saw this keyboard recommended on 9to5mac.com and thought I would give it a shot.) There isn't a lot to say about it. It's light, it fits the iPad exceptionally well to make it easy to carry, and it pairs instantly when it wakes up. It has a tab key, which was a big disappointment from the last iPad keyboard I tried. And I am yet to charge the Brydge after its initial charge. It just works. One tip: actually read the instructions when you get it. I was initially concerned about how my iPad would slide out of the hinges when it was closed and in my bag (turning the screen on and reducing my battery life). When I read the instructions and saw that I needed to pinch the hinges a bit to increase the grip on the iPad, I made that adjustment and have been very happy with how it all fits together now. Thanks, Brydge! This is a great product.

Really like the look and feel I and bought it in space grey. It's probably the best keyboard I've typed on. Holds a charge for along time and the Bluetooth kicks in right away and connects easy. 2 small items, would like a print screen and the volume button goes up when you open it, if it's too close.

I researched for quite a while before deciding to purchase this keyboard and I think that time was well spent. Every keyboard I looked at has it's negatives, including the Brydge, but in taking my wants and needs into consideration I believed the Brydge would be the best fit for me, and that has proven to be true so far! CONS Let's get this out of the way. There are a few things that I wish were different, but they are not big enough complaints that I would take away from my rating. 1) As has been mentioned in other reviews, this keyboard is a little on the heavy side. Since I knew that from other reviews I choose not to lower my rating. It is simply a fact that anyone should know before purchasing. But also understand that the weight is perfect for being able to sit it in your lap and type without the iPad causing the keyboard to flip up. 2) Color match for my iPad is off. I reached out to the people at Brydge and asked about why it is not a good match (my iPad is gold, I ordered gold, but what I received is more of a rose gold). They explained that Apple frequently adjusts their colors from year to year and they try to match whatever is the most current. That makes sense to me and since my iPad is from a couple of years ago I can see where it might be hard to always get an exact match, so again, I choose not to lower my rating. PROS There are a lot of terrific things about this keyboard so I will try to name the most important for me. 1) Battery life of the keyboard is great! I have had it several weeks now and have yet to actually charge it, to me that is outstanding! 2) When typing there is virtually no lag time! I am not the fastest typist, but I am not terribly slow either, and it does a great job of keeping up. 3) The key stroke, or button press, or whatever you want to call it, feels good to me. Nice amount of travel. I saw some reviews that said they had a difficult time with sometimes needs to press harder on some keys, I have not had that issue. They have all been very consistent. 4) I love having a lighted keyboard! I don't use it a lot, but sometimes I am typing in low lit situations and being able to turn the back light on, having 3 different brightness settings, all add up to a great feature. And if I stop typing for very long, the back light automatically goes off, then when I start typing again it comes back on......outstanding! 5) Ease of pairing it with my iPad was great, I had no problems. I will say every now and then one of the shortcut buttons across the top will not work, and I simply turn the keyboard off then back on and it solves the problem. 6) While I have not really had it long enough to speak about long term durability, the keyboard appears to be made so well that I think with a little care on my part it should last a long time. 7) I love the way the clips work! I slide my iPad into the clips, center it and I'm good to go......then if I want to use just the iPad I simply slide it out of the clips. Love the simplicity of that! And the way the clips hinge is very ingenious! (for those wondering, when my iPad is attached and I close it...a) it automatically puts the iPad to sleep and wakes it up when I open it. b) the iPad screen is not touching the keys or any part of the case. There are little rubber bumpers on the case that contact the bezel of the iPad.) I think that covers the main things, so to sum it all up......I highly recommend this keyboard! One thing to note, this keyboard will not act as a case for your tablet. It is not designed for that purpose so don't mistakenly think it fills that need. If you want a keyboard that acts as protection you really should look elsewhere. But if you want a keyboard that gives you a feel of a small laptop, has premium features, and is built to make a great typing experience this is the one for you!

This keyboard is perfect. I am pleased that I chose this instead of the Apple model for my iPad Pro 9.7. It fits perfectly. It is sturdy and has a good feel to the keys and the touch sensitivity. I much prefer it over the plastic ones I have seen and I can now use my iPad as a computer. Be aware, because this is such a solid keyboard it does add some weight to the iPad, but I consider it well worth it. I have been using it for about a month and I have only had to charge the keyboard once. It is so nice to find a company that actually makes a quality product.

This is my second one of these. I had my first one for nearly 2 years before I spilled an entire mug of coffee on it last week and ruined it. I read through all the most recent reviews on this keyboard as well as the latest and newest options on there, especially because I am ready to upgrade from my iPad air 2 to the iPad pro. After reading about all the newest keyboards out there, I decided to just go ahead and get this one again. I am sooooo happy I did. Here is what I like the most about it and why it works for me: 1. It’s super lightweight. Most other keyboards I had in the past added noticable weight. This one is light as a feather yet super durable and well-made. 2. I love the prongs that hold it in place. They are unobtrusive and it makes carrying around my iPad as light as possible since there is only the added keboard and not an entire case that snaps onto the ipad itself. I had many like that in the past and thought I needed the extra protection of a case for when I drop my iPadd but I drop it all the time with this and it protects it just fine. I also found snap on cases to be damaging to the screen when popped on and off. With this, it’s just 2 rubber gripped prongs that hold the keyboard on and they work really, really well. People who complain about the prongs not holding the keyboard in place just simply haven’t tightened the prongs correctly before sliding the grips onto the iPad. 3. The battery life. This is just....WOW. I only have to charge this about every 5-6 months and I use it 3-5 hours DAILY! 4. Functionality. The backlit buttons on the keyboard are great and easily turn on at night or when it’s dark and “sleep” when not in use. Easy to turn off during the day. The keys are spaced well and even though I read reviews about issues with certain keys sticking.....I never had that issue with my last one and this one is working just as well. I love how easy it is to switch between an english and a spanish keboard. Honestly, I type A LOT for work and this keyboard keeps everything rolling, smooth, and simple for all my documents. 5. Positions. I like that I can hang this from an airline seat in front of me to watch a movie. I simple put a little blanket or napkin into the seat pouch and slide the keyboard down into the pouch, then tilt the iPad just a tad so that it hangs up and out of the puch and the weight of keboard holds it in place. I also like that at night when I want to read on the iPad, I just flatten the keboard level with the iPad and use the keyboard as a prop. Also works well as a “book cover” when you want to read and just tilt the whole thing and place the keyboard into “book” position as the front book cover flap....it sits in your lap this way perfectly also. I’m so glad I just went ahead and got the same keyboard!

I'm very pleased with this keyboard. It transforms my new iPad into a laptop device as soon as I slip the iPad into the hinges. Those hinges work much better than I anticipated. The iPad slips in effortlessly-no risk of scratching the surface because of the gel-like cushions that line the hinges. I enjoy this keyboard so much more than the Belkin model I had for my previous iPad. The Brydge keeps the iPad at the exact angle I choose in relation to the keys, and I don't have to worry about it tipping back or flopping forward as I balance it on my lap. It's a bit hefty, but that gives it the feel of quality and also stability in use. Whenever I want to travel light, it takes only a second to free the iPad from the keyboard and return it to a lighter-weight case. The Brydge 9.7 keys have a nice touch, and I prefer their smooth surface and soft clicks over the unusual texture of the Apple Smart Keyboard (which I could not balance on my lap for typing purposes). The real "ooh-ahh" feature of the Brydge is the backlit keys, which offer three levels of brightness. It's super for low light conditions (like when you want to type out a late night Amazon review from the comfort of your bed and not disturb the sleeping spouse next to you). I haven't fully tested its battery life yet. I've read the backlight dramatically shortens the battery life to 6 hours, but that's not such a bad trade considering the comfort you get in return. Other points: easy pairing; nice variety of function buttons; no issues with dropping the Bluetooth connection; no noticeable lag after keystrokes, Cons: price; only compatible with one iPad case (which retails at $70). I've decided to use a sleeve instead. UPDATE: Still loving my new keyboard. Haven't had to charge it for two weeks of moderate use day use plus a couple hours of backlight. Also love the grippy feet it has (four rubber disks in the corners of the keyboard). I'm not as worried that it will slip off surfaces, like my last one did (causing a fatal injury to my old iPad.)

Best keyboard option for an iPad Pro. However because I use mine everyday for work, keys wear easily and clamps loose their grip over time. I end up rebuying every 9 months or so. But I have tried other keyboards and nothing comes close.

I have literally been through 4 other keyboard models. And omg I thought I was just going to have to give up on the keyboard search. I'm a teacher, and I like to lesson plan and do my grad school work on my IPad. But after my Zagg Folio broke, I was keyboard less. No longer though! I tried different models because this is pricey. But you get what you pay for. This is quality. It's got lovely hinges that will not break. The rubber shims keep the IPad from slipping around or getting hurt. And the keyboard itself is sturdy and strong looking. Feels like a Mac. Typing is a joy as the keys make little noise, but feel very comfortable. And pairing only took me 3 minutes. Now if I can just find a shell to protect my new IPad 9.7, not pro model, while it's in this case, I'll be thrilled. Do not be fulled by lower priced items. Brydge is the real deal, and everyone else is second rate.

I have never purchased a Brydge product but after reading some negative reviews about the Apple keyboard, decided to do some research. All the positive reviews on this product are absolutely true. My keyboard arrived last week and I just love it! I bought the silver color. Very well made and solid. Secures tight to my iPad so no fear of falling off, but not so tight that it's hard to get off. The hinges move smoothly and allow multiple angles of the iPad, including flat against the iPad. Keyboard is very comfortable for typing, Absolutely no problems syncing to my iPad. The instructions that came with it are very easy to understand. I feel like I have a little Notebook. If I could give the product a 10 rating I would. Now the search is on for a protective case that will cover both the iPad and the keyboard.

This keyboard has fundamentally changed the way I use my iPad Pro. I used to use the thin Apple keyboard. I liked the fact it was a screen cover too. Typing on it was a pain though. The keys were too small. In addition, the way it prop’ed up the screen meant it was limited. The Brydge keyboard changed all that. The keys are responsive. Backlit too! It still protects my screen when folded and the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the keyboard prevent slipping and scratches. In addition, to all the typing, watching videos is so much more convenient because it can rest in my lap or on a tray table at any angle. This appears very well made. It matches my iPad Pro perfectly. I’d buy it again.
