Exactly what we were looking for at an affordable price. We installed this shade over a garden that turns into an oven in the hot So-Cal sun. The heat was radiating between a cinder-block fence and our stucco home. Before we installed this shade, the sun would heat the interior to unbearable levels even with our A/C blasting. My daughters' room was regularly 90+ while the rest of the house stayed 15+ degrees cooler. The exterior wall in their room was painfully hot to the touch INSIDE the house. One day the temperature approached 100 degrees in their room because of the radiating heat. I could smell their computers overheating and was afraid for their health and safety. We ordered this shade and it was delivered the same day. We installed it that night with no issues. It took us about 40 minutes in the dark. The next day, it was even hotter outside. While the shade does not substitute for insulation, it made a huge difference! The room stayed just about 80 degrees plus or minus depending on the position of the sun. Even better, the wall was much cooler. One question I couldn't seem to find answers to while looking into these shades was, will a garden and grass grow under them. The answer is YES! We have a full herb / vegetable garden thriving under this shade. In fact, all of the plants are doing so much better than they were in direct sun. I'm not sure if the color makes a difference but we bought beige. So far, the shade has held up very well to sun, rain and Santa Ana winds. We need to tighten it a bit from stretching but not very much at all. We purchased adjustable fasteners with this shade instead of just using the supplied hardware. That has helped a lot. I HIGHLY recommend this product. We will be purchasing more for our primary patio and our outdoor work area.

I love this! My husband got it for me for Christmas because of patio is in full sun ALL day! I forget to take it down during an ice storm and it made it through it! I blocks just enough sun so I can go outside now. It does let rain through as it says but it all falls to the middle and drips down there. I HIGHLY recommend this for a cheap and pretty option to add some shade to your yard.

Well made. Keeps the hot sun off my patio just enough to make it comfortable to sit out there now. Thank you. UPDATE: This has been up outside ever since we purchased. Still looks great. Holding up well.

Love this shade sail! It completely transformed my patio which was essentially unusable May-Aug outside the hours of dusk or dawn. I really didn't think it would make such a difference, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Hardware included is very sturdy and secure (I purchased simple S hooks at a local hardware store to attach sail to mounting, and skipped using the included rope). I mounted it directly to the top of my pergola beams and it worked like a charm. Now I'm wondering what took me so long to do this?!?! I would really love a smaller 6x6 one for a smaller section of the pergola, but the smallest is 8x8 which won't work for me. Bummed about that, but it doesn't detract from my loving the 10x10 on the main area of my pergola. I really don't need the table umbrella anymore, but I'll keep it anyway. It seems very sturdy but only time will tell about its durability. I plan to remove it and store it during winter which will hopefully extend its life.

Well made for the $. Material breathes well and is lighter than I expected. More shade than I expected to get, maybe 60% shadow, which is perfect for cooling off 105+ degree days. I couldnt install mine like the instructions, using rope, because the only size that was reasonably priced fit my deck dimensions exactly. So I used 1/2 inch diameter, 2" bolts with a second locking nut on each, to match the sun shades' rings over the mounting rings, then slid the bolt through both. I was able to hand stretch the first 3 corners, but I had to tension the last corner with an 8" bolt, tighened to the desired tension. Works great! For anyone wondering what happens when in rains... I angled my shade 1 foot lower on the front long edge (mostly to help get tension it in a match space). The water still pools in the middle then flows through. Because the shade is porous, there is little sag. So you can actual keep pretty dry underneath as long as your not near the middle.

My second sail. We use it to block the sun in front of our house, so now that makes 2. I installed the sail with elastic bands at the top (house) to minimize stress to the house and sail. At the bottom end the rope that's included with again elastic band on each rope. Keep them up even on a windy day as the sail doesn't block the wind much. This helped a lot to keep the temperature lower.

Works great! We bought and installed this to keep the bird poop and falling cherry pits off our back deck where our bar-b-que grill lives. Turns out it also helps shade the house (rear windows) from the harsh Western sun and keeps the rear deck from needing the leaf blower as often during leaf drop time in the Fall. Would recommend ordering a size larger than the area you want to cover -- the material sort of stretches and arcs (as shown in product description pics) when pulled from it's corners, so you end-up with width and length somewhat narrower/shorter than what is ordered due to the nature of the material. Highly recommended!

I bought the 10' x 15' sail due to the low price. Had I purchased the exact size I wanted it would have been over $100 dollars more. I adjusted my poles for the larger size. The material is good and I like the red color. It really does provide great shade. I took my laser infrared thermometer and measured the deck that was shaded by the sail compared to decking in direct sunlight and was amazed by the temperature difference. The shaded deck was 91 degrees while the exposed deck was 164 degrees. Since the shade also blocks the sunlight streaming through the sliding glass door in the morning, it really keeps the interior room from also absorbing the summer heat. This definitely lowers my air conditioning usage. The rope provided for the sail was too short and useless. The wall attachment hardware was a nice addition. A lot of people will use 4"x4" by 12 foot poles to secure the sail, I think I found a better way. I went to the local big box hardware store and purchased : "1.5 in. x 1.5 in. x 7 ft. Heavy Duty Green Steel Fence T-Post" - used a sledge hammer to tap them into the ground by about a foot or until the fin was below ground "1-1/2 in. EMT Conduit" 10 foot (pole). I slide the pole over the steel fence post and it was perfect. I also drilled a hole though the pole ( at the top) for a stainless steel eye hook for the rope. I'll attach photos. ****Season #2**** Just put up the Sun Shade for a second season and it looks great. No visible tears or wear. This has been through brutal Summer sun, rain, and hail. Lets see if we can get through the whole season. Posting two new photos.

This is the second one of these we've gotten. Both are used on top of pergolas I built. We love them both. Fit perfect. Seem well made.

This canopy is extremely well made. The workmanship and excellent and the fabric is a nice robust grade, providing good shade, yet ample light through. The entire edge of the canvas is lined with webbing; meaning it does not stretch or sag. I've had 3 up for a few months and they have not 'stretched'. From the build quality, I would not suspect that the attachment grommets would come loose or fail. I am extremely please with the value of this. It comes with hardware to attach to your structure (wood). I did replace the rope with a small chain from the hardware store. It has a better look and more adjustability.
