I was put into a part last minute where I needed black character shoes fast. These arrived via Prime, and I wasn't expecting much because of the price. They are SO comfortable! They fit just right, and got me through 5 performances plus tech week. Highly recommended - would buy again.

I have very bad knees. Most of my clothes require dress shoes, and i miss wearing heels. I found these and gave them a try. They give major support and are comfortable. I wish i could find these in more colors.

************Update: The top strap broke the third time I wore them and I had to return them as defective. I'm concerned, but will probably purchase another pair due to the fit and feel. Disappointed they broke, though.************ BUYING MOTIVATOR: I purchased these shoes for work because I needed shoes that were all-day wearable and would hold up over time. I figured dance shoes would work, and I was right! These low-heeled basic black shoes are so comfortable and will go with almost everything I wear to the office. DESIGN: These shoes are designed so well, with a supportive arch & padded footbed...plus, there's even a notched out area at the back of the heel to avoid rubbing where one would develop a blister. As pictured, they are very traditionally styled and completely cover the toes so no rubbing in those areas either! Super sturdy and easy to walk in, I would highly recommend these as every-day footwear for conservative or mature women such as myself. FIT: These shoes run pretty true to size. I generally wear either size 8 or 8.5 (depending on how slim the shoe is) as I have fat-ish feet that are prone to swelling over the day. I have problems buying shoes that are comfortable; that won't cut into my feet and leave my fat/skin pouring over the sides. I went with an 8.5 due to the heel, and they fit like a dream! The top strap has room for adjusting tighter and looser depending on my level of swelling. QUALITY: They arrived super quickly and come complete with a very nice shoebox and dust bag - just like high-end brands. The sole of the shoe is smooth yet they do not feel slippery when walking on hardwood or tile floors. There is adequate padding on the inside footbed that adds additional comfort and wearability over a long day. The materials appear to be high quality and the shoe well made. BOTTOM LINE: I am extremely pleased with my purchase and am considering buying this same shoe in its different variations (higher heel, nude color, etc.). This purchase way exceeded my expectations and are extremely versatile - professional, casual or dressy. Amazing shoes and quality

The best and most comfortable dress shoes I have ever worn. These babies are amazing. I wore them for 20 hours of on and off walking during a convention and not once were my feet hurting. I would suggest these to anyone and everyone.

Pleasantly surprised

I measured my foot per the size chart guidelines and the shoes fit perfectly. These are great character shoes. I am a professional performer so I know my way around a dance shoe. :) With that being said, the soles ARE sticky as other reviewers have said. These shoes would be great for jazz, modern, and ballet; but not if you are executing pirouettes (a full turn). After other reviewers expressed this issue, I purchased velour soles separately, also through amazon prime. They arrived at the same time and were affordable. They are an easy fix for the “sticky” bottom problem for full or half-turns. See photos attached.

Perfect fit.

The minute I tried these shoes on they fit perfectly and are so comfortable. They were the sixth pair of character shoes that I ordered and are the only ones that are comfortable.
