So far, so good. Sharing keyboard, mouse, and printer between my laptop and desktop. Monitor has an input switch, so it works great for me so far. One plus is that wireless mice often don't work well in hubs, but I haven't had a problem using this. Will, of course, come back and edit in the event that something changes.

This works great! Imagine this as the "K" and "M" of KVM. It's literally that simple. My personal setup involves two ultra-wide monitors stacked one above the other. One has my work laptop plugged into it, and the lower one is for my desktop. I know that there is software available that can share a single mouse and keyboard, but it would always act up when I took my laptop out of the house, or would still function when I was working on my laptop solely, or would prevent my computer games from working when my mouse would leave the game and travel to my laptop! So after a few months of having my mouse and keyboard plugged into a usb 4-port thing and manually moving them to each system, I found this device and ordered it. It arriveded much quicker than I was expecting. As I mentioned in my title, it's much smaller than I was expecting. It's about 2 inched deep and about 4 inches wide (and about half an inch tall). Came with all the cables needed. I plugged in, connected to both systems just fine, and I haven't had an issue. I am now using it between a Mac Mini and my Windows Desktop, and It's handling everything perfectly. I have the mouse, keyboard, an external SSD, and a large powered 4TB backup disk all running through the one cable, and it's working exactly as I had expected. So great! My only suggestion for improvement is the switching time is not instant, and takes about 2 seconds to disconnect from one system and then have the devices recognized on the other. That could be my computers, or just USB devices themselves, but hey it's better than doing it myself. To me, the best kind of hardware is hardware that does it's job so well that you don't even notice because you are focus on the project at hand. and this definitely falls into that category for me. it works, it's quiet, and it's inexpensive. If you are wavering, i'd definitely recommend this device.

I have a work computer during the day and switch to my gaming computer at night. This allows me to easily switch my mechanical keyboard from one to the other. I actually started putting it on the floor and using it as a "foot button" with my toe, it works really well.

A USB male A to male A cable is a non-standard cable. This attaches to the 2 host devices using an A type female connector on both ends and comes with 2 male A to A cables. This is a non-standard USB cable. The device should use a female type B connector, either a full size (Like your printer probably has) or mini (Like most small gadgets use). It's a minor gripe, and the product works fine, but standards exist for a reason and there is no reason for this device to use non-standard cabling when following the would not have been that hard. EDIT: Apparently I'm wrong and the USB 3.0 spec does add host-to-host type A connectors, and the included cables do adhere to that spec as far as I can tell. Wouldn't recommend plugging this into a USB 2.0 port on your host device though, since that isn't part of the USB 2.0 spec. USB 2.0 peripherals (which includes most keyboards and mice) should work though. Just make sure you plug your stuff in on the right side.

I have been trying to setup my desk for some time now and I've always struggled with too many things cluttering my desk with both PC desktop and MacBook pro laptop. I tried to use Synergy (software) to share my keyboard and mouse from desktop to laptop, but occasionally to often (depending on what I was doing or if playing computer games), the mouse will lag when switching from one computer to another or not working. I tried to use a double keyboard and mouse setup with one set for each, but that is just too much stuff to keep on a desk for a cleaner setup. Getting this sharing switch selector is exactly the solution I was looking for, and I have to say after using it fairly extensively for almost a month, it is awesome. 4 USB port is great and exactly the amount I am looking for; 2 for my corsair mechanical keyboard and mouse, 1 for USB connection for my wireless headset, and another for a scanner/printer that I can switch between computers. With a click of a button, I can almost instantly jump back and forth between computers and nowadays computers will pick up all my devices without delay. That was my initial concern about this hub because I switch between computers often, and if computers take a long time to recognized the devices I have will be a deal breaker, but this is not the case. If this hub ever comes out with a newer model with usb type c power connection, I will probably get that option, because it currently only has micro usb power option. It does not come with a micro usb cable but not a big deal as I have plenty, but I did not realize at the time of purchase.

This USB sharing switch has simplified my life, and it works perfectly. I use it to switch between my work laptop and a gaming PC, sharing a Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard, a USB gaming mouse, and a headset. Switching is seamless -- just a press of the button. Even the USB passthrough on the keyboard works. Some reviewers have mentioned a humming noise when using a mechanical keyboard, but fortunately mine isn't making any noise at all.

I frequently switch between my desktop and laptop and wanted to use the same monitors, keyboard, and mouse for both. However, dual monitor KVMs are pricy and ones I’ve used in the past were temperamental and bulky. I realized I could save a ton of money by using the extra inputs on my monitors and only needing a switch for the keyboard and mouse. That’s where this device came in. For 1/7th the price of a KVM I can switch 4 USB3 devices between the two systems. Even better, it is super slim and has far slimmer cables than normal KVM cables. Also, the attached devices show up as themselves, unlike some KVMs which emulate devices, which can cause issues with things like media keys or extra mouse buttons.

This review is for a UGREEN USB 3.0 2-computer 4-port USB hub. I bought this product so that I could share a wired mouse, wired keyboard, and a wired IT-support style headset/microphone between a desktop and laptop PC at the push of a single button. It works exactly as intended. I have not found Windows 10 to have any difficulty when hot-switching this way. Windows immediately detects when the peripherals become live. I do not find a need to use an optional external power supply. These three USB peripherals together are not taxing the power available from either PC through their respective USB cables. Caveat: I have not tried sharing an external hard drive or other more power hungry device, nor am I using anything that needs the full throughput of USB 3.0. The switch has a set of two blue lights at the top to show which input (which computer) is live, but it's not really necessary and I don't pay attention to them. It's pretty easy to tell with a mouse wiggle whether you are switched to the right PC or not. I initially had a concern that the box was literally too small and light. It is only about 4" x 2" and at most a couple of ounces, so I thought it might bounce and slide around when stiff cables are connected. I haven't had that problem, and it has four pads on the bottom that provide some sliding friction. I've used it so far for over a month now on a daily basis since my job involves frequent switching between the two computers. It seems like it will hold up just fine. The button has a nice satisfyingly firm 'clicky' feel to it, and the USB ports are snug without being too tight. I give it five stars.

Great product thus far. I needed it to easily switch my peripherals between my work and home computers -- I work from home so they both live in my home office. The product is smaller and much lighter than I expected which isn't necessarily bad, but if your USB cables are at all stiff then this thing really won't stay put super well until you've trained your cables. Switching between computers is easy with just a push of a button and takes right around 1 second for the switch to complete and be connected to other machine. I was able to plug and play with no issues. I haven't tested latency or speed with this unit, I haven't noticed any lag from my mouse or keyboard. Overall, I'm quite happy with this guy. Good product at a good price. The only thing I wish it had were audio ports for my speakers. As a workaround I bought an Audio to USB adapter.

I set up a docking station for my work laptop at my home office desk where I also use my personal computer. I quickly realized that swapping USB adapters for mouse and keyboard every time I wanted to switch between work and personal computers was a hassle and unnecessary wear and tear on the ports. Once I also realized that the built-in DAC in my work laptop was garbage when I was trying to listen to some music on Pandora while I worked, I decided to look for a USB switch and came across this one. I am happy to report that the UGREEN USB 3.0 switch works almost perfectly with my setup. I have it connected to my personal computer and my laptop dock. Plugged into the front, I have my mouse adapter, wired keyboard, and a standalone DAC. I even used the 4th USB port for another keyboard adapter so that I can use my wireless keyboard from my couch when I want to switch the computer display over to my TV, and this works great as well. Pressing the button on top of the UGREEN unit quickly switches control from one computer to another with no delay. A small, non-intrusive blue LED indicates which computer is active. Mouse, keyboard, and the audio DAC all immediately work correctly on the selected computer. The only thing that I sometimes have issues with is if the computer I am switching to is asleep. In that case, moving the mouse or pushing a key on the keyboard does not wake up the computer like it normally would, and I have to press the power button on the computer to wake it up. I'm not sure why this happens but it seems like if the USB connection was not active when the computer was put to sleep, it does not make the connection until it is manually woken up. I have checked in my power settings to make sure that USB ports are not turned off when the computer is asleep, as this would be an obvious cause for the issue, but that is not the case. This is a minor inconvenience since my personal computer and dock power buttons are both easily accessible, but would be nice if it worked. The UGREEN unit is quite small and sits inconspicuously on my desk on top of my audio mixer. To keep the cables managed cleanly I do have to make a 180 degree bend with my two wired connections (keyboard and DAC) to route the cables back behind the switch. If I just had 4 USB adapters plugged in, that wouldn't be an issue. The only way to fix this would be to have all the ports on the back, and then the unit would have to be larger in size to accommodate 6 ports on one side instead of 4. The switch is very lightweight (which means stiff cords sometimes lift it so it doesn't sit flat) and has a cheap feeling plastic housing with no mounting provision if you wanted to attach it to something, but these are minor complaints as it works well enough. It appears you can power the switch with micro USB if your devices require a lot of power (if you were wanting to charge something via USB for example), but even with the backlit keyboard I am using, I do not have this switch connected to power, and it and my devices work just fine. Overall I am happy with the UGREEN USB 3.0 switch. If it were able to always make a connection with a computer that is asleep when switched to, I would be even happier, but that may not even be the fault of the switch. I definitely recommend this if you are looking to share inputs between two computers without having to plug and unplug cords, dongles and adapters.
